What were you doing that caused the problem?
I started the server

What's the error? Post using bukkitPaste.

Spout will shut itself off to prevent possible damage to your server. If you believe this is mistaken or you know what you are doing, then you can turn this feature off within Spout's config."

What version of SpoutEssentials are you using? (Look in the console, not the thread)

Post your plugin list. (A screenshot of '/plugins' would do)

Post all of your configs in spoutessentials folder, using bukkitPaste.

That's a problem with your SpoutPlugin, I believe. I'd suggest updating to the latest dev/non-dev build of SpoutPlugin.

This error was because you were running a build of SpoutPlugin that was not built with the CraftBukkit build you were using. The latest builds of SpoutPlugin were changed to be a little more relaxed with the version checking, and only checking the Minecraft version instead of the full version, so you should only encounter this if you run a 1.2.3 build on a 1.2.5 server for example.
