SparkTrail
An advanced and powerful particle trail plugin
Great for donation perks! Dazzle your friends with tons of unique particle effects!
Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.
The SparkTrail plugin aims to utilise the range of particle effects Craftbukkit has to offer. Fire, ender, smoke and even love hearts are only a small portion of the particle effects this plugin utilises. With over 20 unique effects, there's guaranteed to be one that 'tickles your fancy'!
The integration of Player, Location and Entity particle effects, along with a long list of Sound effects comes packaged inside the SparkTrail plugin. We also integrate the plugin's features with newer Minecraft additions, including complete Command Block support for modifying Trail effects.
SparkTrail comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for SparkTrail to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the SparkTrail directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.
Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.
This video applies to SparkTrail 2 ONLY!

Still broken, same error. I'm in op when I'm testing this, currently running build 75 http://pastebin.com/A1MDHCmF
@DSH105
Now when trying to choose an effect from the gui on build 74 I get the following stacktrace from the SparkTrail.log http://pastebin.com/kkr3Fck9
@DSH105
Adding on to what
@Tetdoss
said this is still not fixed in the Dev build #71. Even if a player does not have permission for a effect that requires extra information in chat they can still use it. For example, if I give the player permission only for the void particle he would be able to use particles such as the block breaker, itemspray, or firework. I believe this only happens when a player accesses the particles through the GUI. Players are also still able to duplicate items with hoppers with the item spray particle on.
Not sure whatsoever what the issue might be, but i can't seem to get any trail effects to work on my server, i get the following errors in the SparkTrail.log: http:pastebin.com/BVeC2J09
On my Server, I am using PermissionsEx and I keep getting complaints from users saying they don't have access to something when they should have access for it.
The group has sparktrail.swirl.red and both the Open GUI and Command /trail swirl red does not allow them to use it (i've tested myself on an alternate). Although, the permission nodes such as /trail and list commands and GUI permission nodes work just fine, is this an issue or..? I've even tried giving them sparktrail.swirl.* , still no go.
@Tetdoss This *should* be fixed now. You can try some of the later development builds if you feel like testing it out ;).
@BlackFing85 I'll look into it for you.
@Cooljack19 I'm working on improving the GUI menu (including full configuration) :).
@BlackFing85
Yes, I also have this issue.
Am I able to edit the GUI? I don't some items for trails appearing in the GUI menu however I cannot find a way in editing this. Thanks
There's a bug where the Swirl keeps going after toggling it off!
Thanks for taking care of it. If you need more information, tell me :)
And sorry if I wasn't clear cause I'm french :)
@Tetdoss I'll look into fixing that for you.
@DSH105
I have seen it. I have tested a lot of permission and spend some hours on it but nothing work... I can't prevent players using some effects like Firework...
I'll try to be clear.
I tested to give to my player only sparktrail.trail permission and they can use a lot of effects like Firework, ItemSpray etc, in fact, all effects which require the chat to customize the effect.
Moreover, my players are using a hopper and the effect ItemSpray in order to get unlimited items :/
EDIT: I found a way to handle it.
I deleted sparktrail.trail so they players can't use GUI but only commands. And if I want VIP can use only the fire effect, I give us sparktrail.trail.player.type.fire and that's it. VIP can do /trail fire to enable/disable fire effect and they can't access to the GUI so they can't use bugged effects like Firework or ItemSpray.
PS: I tried to give them sparktrail.trail.type.fire but it doesn't work so I gave them sparktrail.trail.player.type.fire
@Tetdoss I'm not sure I see what your problem is :\. See the Wiki for info on permissions.
@Echooooo Your server doesn't have enough memory allocated.
@iGianni /trail will open up the GUI. There is currently no item that you can right click to open it though.
Is there a GUI you can set it so when you right click an item?
This happened When i tried to load it up Can anyone help?
Yay!
Hello, how can I give an effect to each grade/rank in my server ?
I gave sparktrail.trail and sparktrail.trail.player.type.portal (and other type) to the group A for exemple, it works, the player in the group A can't use the ember effect but he can use firework effect :/
Maybe there is a better way to do what I want ?
I'm using the last devbuild: Construction #69
Thanks for this awesome plugin ;)
@iGianni It's already in SparkTrail 3
@DrHappyBro I uploaded it a few days ago and it's waiting in the queue for approval :).
