How do I use it ?
Don't want to watch the awesome video ? Fine, here are the basic commands.
/mv create skylands normal -g SkylandsPlus
Or a skylands style Nether like this
/mv create skylands nether -g SkylandsPlus
Or a skylands style End like this
/mv create skylands the_end -g SkylandsPlus
Other world management plugins should have similar commands, I use Multiverse on my server which is why I only provide the instructions for that. The documentation for which ever plugin you use should tell you how to do it. You can also add a world by editing the bukkit.yml file, instructions on how to do that can be found on the Bukkit wiki.
Config
prevent-sand-falling: true restrict-mob-spawning: true
prevent-sand-falling - When set to true no sand will fall in skylands worlds.
restrict-mob-spawning - When set to true the number of mobs in a single chunk will be limited to a sane amount in skylands worlds.
Contributing
Contributions to the project are very much welcome, if you have a feature that you want implemented and know a nice way to do it then consider forking the repo and submitting a pull request. These will be accepted as long as the following simple guidelines are followed.
- Do not edit the structure of the pom.xml file, feel free to add a dependency if you need it but the formatting and structure should not be changed.
- If you are exposing a new API method, add a JavaDoc comment to it, but don't over-comment internal code.
- Follow the existing code style, don't antagonise over every space though !
All dependencies that are used are now available from a public Maven repo, so you don't have to worry about building several other projects just to add a simple change any more.

Ok I tried this plugin and It doesn't work for some reason. the commande /mv does not work which is propably the multiverse plugin. You mention that IF I am using it I can do the commands you mention to create a world. But I don't have Multiverse. IS it Required To make this plugin wotk? If not how do I use it without multiverse? Also I want my default world to be skylands is it possible?
@latexink
Haha, I realized that the sand falling was one of the things causing sever lag when a player entered the world so blocked it.
It will be configurable in a later version.
Is floating sand not supposed to fall? I can't do anything to trigger any of those delicious sandfalls..
So the end replaced the skylands, so we can't have clouds underneath the skylands anymore? Now it's just pitch black because of the void.
Changing it to SKYLANDS in the multiverse plugin seems to change the world to nether :(.
Yes me too how do you go to the sky lands world? i really don't know please tell me :( i think it'll be really cool :)
Sorry for being such a noob but how do I use this without multiverse? Or do you have to have it? Because I have essentials, but the /world command only sends me between the nether and my normal world. Please help.
@jacobems
Can you not see the game version that it requires ?
And no id does not removed the end, why on earth would it do that ? ;)
Will this work since 1.0.0 replace the skyland with the end? also if it does would it remove the end?
@abcedea
File a ticket.
@mike0fmikes
That's the point of it ;)
So I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that this still works, even though skylands where replaced with the end?
@Skaales
Yeah, that is pretty much the conclusion I have come to as well. It should still be possible as long as I keep the two weather types in the same places. Removing rivers should sill be possible as long as I put an ice biome where frozen rivers are.
I haven't seen any code to confirm this, but I think the way it works is the server sends the seed to the client which then uses that to decide on weather.
Spout can move the clouds, but can't change the void, that is just part of the game and would require a client mod.
@wide_load
Bummer about the floor aye.
Just found something Khoorn posted on his Terrain Control todo list comments: "biome types completely calculated clientside, also weather too." So yea, looks like using craft bukkit is impossible to change these things. However, what about Spoutcraft? If they dont already have support for modifying biome code, im sure they will think its a great idea. Worth pursuing you think? With Spout i bet u could move the clouds to below the world and change the look of the void aswell. But you wouldn't make Spoutcraft compulsory to use Skylands+, Spoutcraft support would only activate if Skylands+ detected that the server was using Spoutcraft.
Taiga. Is that pine forest? cause if it is, YAY!!
@Naitsirhc_Hsem
Awesome, I will test it out and add a section about it above. I get a fair few people asking how to do this. ;)
Hi again!
I just released Dreamland 3.0 with support for SkylandsPlus out of the box. Thank you again for this plugin!

@minechomp
Adding the floor is not really possible, even on my pretty large server everyone gets kicked when new chunks are generated in skylands.
@Skaales
Well that is bad news, I was hoping to be able to replace the biome calculation code with my own, since there is separate code for the nether and the normal world I thought it might be possible. Taiga biomes will have snow with 1.1 so that will help with the lack of snow biomes a bit.
Great to hear you have been trying the water so quickly! And yea, if it isn't a too bigger hassle, could you possibly have the ocean an option?
Found this on the World Painter minecraft forum thread:
Q: How do I set which Biome the map is made in? A: That is not possible, unfortunately. The biomes are not stored on disk, Minecraft calculates them on the fly at runtime, and WorldPainter has no control over them. Having said that, WorldPainter can show you what the biomes will be, and allows you to change the seed to find a suitable biome.
Don't know if that helps. Happy hunting :P
Edit: Wonder if spout could change the colour of the void and add clouds there.
I know that! I meant can having an ocean below be an option if it is added. Sorry to confuse you.
@minechomp
There is no way I can change the colour of the void.
Can it be an option? I like the void being there, I just hate the black.
