Required Plugins

Installation and Configuration

For upgrading, see below.

  1. Download the plugin (ASkyBlock.jar) and the other mandatory plugins.
  2. Place into your plugins folder
  3. Restart your server - this will make the config.yml file and start with a default world and set up.
  4. You should be done!

The next steps are optional:

  1. Stop the server
  2. Open the plugin/ASkyBlock folder
  3. Open up config.yml and adjust how you like. If you change the world name, delete the ASkyBlock world.
  4. Set up your Island Guard settings.
  5. Check challenges.yml and change if you like.
  6. Start your server again
  7. Permissions should be set by default, unless you use a permissions manager. In which case, set up permissions.
  8. Log in and type /island to start your island

The Nether

Read about the nether options here.

How do I set up my server so that ASkyBlock is the main world?

  1. Start with a new server install (recommended)
  2. Run the server like normal to set it up - it will created default worlds, i.e., world, world_nether, world_the_end
  3. Stop the server
  4. Copy in plugins that you need, e.g., Essentials, WorldEdit, PermissionsEx, and Vault 1.5.
  5. Copy in ASkyBlock.jar to plugins folder
  6. Edit server.properties to list ASkyBlock as the world, i.e., 'level-name=ASkyBlock'
  7. Edit bukkit.yml to have this at the end (the spaces are VERY important to get right):
worlds:
  ASkyBlock:
    generator: ASkyBlock
  ASkyBlock_nether:
    generator: ASkyBlock

If you change the name of the world, then change the world name, but NOT the generator name. For example:

worlds:
  SkyBlockWorld:
    generator: ASkyBlock
  SkyBlockWorld_nether:
    generator: ASkyBlock

Change server.properties to point to your world, e.g.,:

level-name=ASkyBlock

Then (Quick Start):

  1. Stop the server (if it isn't already)
  2. Delete default world, world_nether, world_the_end worlds if they exist.
  3. Run the server
  4. Log in as an op player - You'll be floating in space in fly mode
  5. Do /island to get an island
  6. Unregister yourself from the island /asadmin unregister <your name>
  7. Type /asadmin setspawn to make spawn. Also, recommend doing /setspawn (essentials spawn) to the spawn location.
  8. Adjust the spawn range to what you want using /asadmin setrange <number>
  9. Customize your spawn island
  10. You should be done!

Admin Tips

Some recommendations to improve game play:

  • Install a trading or shop plugin because going from one island to another is part of the fun!
  • Consider allowing creeper explosions and Enderman griefing. Some of the best servers have this on and are hard but fun.
  • Note: A Skyblock has island protection options, including explosion prevention.
  • Make a spawn. (Use /asadmin setspawn)

Welcome Warp Signs

Welcome Warp Signs are an easy way for players to make warps. Each player can generate only one warp. They create a warp by placing a sign with the first line [WELCOME] on it. If the warp creation is successful, that line will become green. If there is a problem, it will become red.

[If you want Welcome Warp Signs for other worlds or just as a stand alone plugin - download it here]

Warps are listed under /island warps and are the player's name. Players can warp by typing /island warp <name of warp>.

To destroy or remove a warp, the player should destroy or remove the sign.

The other lines on the sign can say anything the player wants.

The safety of a warp is checked to a certain extent, but it's possible for players to create traps with warp signs. This may or may not be okay with the server admin, but can be interpreted as being part of the game.
