What I am saying, is I'd like an option that: You said: "I could add a command that excludes you from seeing vanished players, even though you keep the permission to see all." Sorry I didn't explain that well enough. Also, I am having a problem. When someone is kicked when vanished, it says "<name> has logged off" giving it away. Any possibility of fixing that?
@bronson2011
If you are using the latest version (at least 0.3.0) then i do not see a reason why it should not work. Is your bPermissions up to date ?
Maybe you could just state CraftBukkit version string (/version), bPermissions version and SimplyVanish version - i might try to reproduce it.
I'm having an issue giving my moderators the ability to vanish. I'm using bPermissions, and they have the simplyvanish.vanish.self permissions. However, they still cannot vanish. Is there any specific reason that isn't working? Keep in mind I've spelled it correctly (I just double checked) and I've tried it a few times. Thank you ahead of time.
@Nicomang070
I am not sure if i understand what you request...
By default normal players can not see players that are vanished, unless they have the permission simplyvanish.see-all. Ops have this by default.
Do you want a way to not see vanished players, for instance to continue normal playing, though you are op, or have the '*' permission?
Or do you have ops that shall not be able to see vanished player?
Or do you have players that shall be able to vanish but not to see vanished? [In this case use permissions, give the simplyvanish.vanish.self permission but not the simplyvanish.see-all permission.]
Or do you want to switch quickly to see or not see, while keeping the see-all permission? [Usually such is a task for permission tools, but could be tackled.]
I am not sure what you want:
If set to false, ops will not have all permissions for SimplyVanish, so they need to be given permissions by other means if they shall use it.
There should be an option for everyone including ops, and people with the permission to not be able to see people that are vanished. This can be configured though, incase people would like the permission to work.
@asofold
I added both now... in the next version.
Current jar: 0.3.2 (Works with 1.2.3, 1.2.4 !)
@Awesomeadam76
That would apply to all players with '*' permission then, which could be unwanted by some.
So i would have to make its use configurable.
Or do you just want the vanished players to stay vanished after restart?
Could you add a permission so that the group is set to already be vanished on login?
@XeonG8
Yes SimplyVanish does, but with different commands !
I wanted to have commands that ensure you are either vanished or not vanished, that is why vanish and reappear are there.
You can simply use /tvanish or the command aliases /tvan or /vant to toggle - so it is already possibly.
/vanish /reappear
Could it not just be /vanish ... and /vanish .. a toggle command.. much better put a little message in chat saying you've vanished or reappeared. (no haven't tried this mod yet, maybe it already does that)
@asofold
Good to hear! Thanks for creating this plugin! :-)
@ThisUsernameIsMine
Yes, for players that can not see you will not appear in the player-list.
You can see yourself, probably. or more general: every player with the permission 'simplyvanish.see-all' will see the vanished players too.
/tell should also be deactivated (if you can't see someone).
Does this plugin remove vanished players from /list and TAB playerlist?
I currently use Vanish No Packet.
Thanks!
@bigscary
I will add configurable commands, including one for toggling, but it might take a couple of days till i can do so.
Hi asofold, I want to be invisible on my server when I'm performing administrative duties. I like the idea that my players don't know who the admin is, so they don't know when they're being "watched". I plan to use this in combination with /say to maintain some anonymity.
I had originally considered using the new Bukkit invisibility API myself, but was disappointed to see that it's all per-player. So thanks for going through the effort of hooking into all those login/logout events and doing all that book keeping. :) This fits my needs very well!
"/invis" as a toggle would be easier to use and remember than two separate, longer commands.
@muggerfugger
Oh, it is not a toggle - use /reappear to be visible again.
/vanish just ensures that you are vanished !
If it should happen that you can be seen by normal players after /vanish , then it would be a bug.
I might add custom commands including a toggle command in a later version, though.
can you fix the toggle msg. says i am invisible to normal players each time i type /vanish. instead of saying you are now visible, etc. so its hard to know when im invisible or not.
@fisherman77
Are you having a certain feature in mind, or was it about a server without permission plugins having non-ops use vanish?
I am distantly considering adding a variation like no-interaction-invisibility to allow for a "not involved camera man".
Are you thinking of a "vulnerable" variation, with just invisible players?
So do you plan on adding in conditions for regular players to use this, not just admins?
@asofold
Thanks you for your works :)
I don't like VNP. Your plugin it's simply & work fine I like it ;)
