Simple Backup
Simple backup
Works with 1.10.x and up
If you have any problems with the plugin not working leave a comment!
What can I use this for?
Simple Backup is a plugin to zip up your minecraft server worlds to a folder so you can:
- Let your users download them via file sharing websites such as mediafire
- Roll back your map
Commands:
- /sbackup - Force a backup of your world by running. Can only be ran by OPs or from the server console.
Providing error reports:
When pasting large amounts of text please use http:pastebin.com or http:dev.bukkit.org/paste/. They are completely free and makes it easier for me to read any error messages you provide.
Also provide your SimpleBackup config file and the version of the plugin you are using, when stating you have a problem, so I can see if that's the problem instead.
Configuring:
Click here for an explanation of how to configure this plugin.
Rolling Back Maps:
Click here for how to roll back your maps.
Updates:
This plugin is generally updated when a significant change (new features or bugfixes) has been made to it. The plugin uses only a small number of very basic Bukkit API calls, so it most probably won't break on Bukkit updates. If it does break, we'll update it as soon as possible.

Thanks for any support you give me, and enjoy simple backup!

Thanks for fixing that problem, I have compiled a version and put it on the bukkit page, if it doesnt show up yet find it here https:dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/simplebackup/files/24-simple-backup-1-8/
I've created a pull request a few days ago fixing the "Asynchronous entity track!" error which sometimes prevented creating new backups as well as deleting old ones. You can download the version with the patch here until it gets merged.
@Mr_Killer01 you can set how old backups you want to keep, search for "Delete schedule" in the config. Also you can add folders to backup with the "backup-folders" config option.
I am not sure if anyone asked this, but i see now that i hold over 23 GB data of my worlds, that is from march till now. Is there not a way to remove old backups, from timetable let's say 2 months and older? just to maintain this kinda growth on my server. I have recently added two worlds to my server and that is eating in zip form almost 800 MB for every backup it makes... And if you are at it, can you also add a part in the config file where i can choose which folder needs to be backedup? including the plugin config files? (Exclude let's say Dynmap???)
Thanks...
We want 1.7.9

pleeeeaaaaassseeThe only thing missing would be a backup of plugin config files.
I'm using SimpleBackup plugin with Spigot v1.9.2. It has worked great for about a month or so nd then stopped backing up. I just happened to check the folder where the backups are stored and found it hadn't backed up in a couple weeks. The backup messages show in Minecraft as they should. Doing a manual backup with /sbackup appeared to work also but no files were copied to the backup folder. I am backup up to a USB drive on the raspberry pi on which our Minecraft server is running. It seems the path to the drive changed from USB20FD to USB20FD1 for some reason. I edited the path in the config.yml file and now all is working again. The problem is that SimpleBackup appeared to be working and no errors were generated but no files were copied. We had a false sense of security for quite some time but had no backups. If the backup files cannot be copied, is there a way for the plugin to give an error so that we know it is not actually working? Thanks for all your help.
@exolius
Hi, i use your plugin now for some weeks and i stumble upon a few things, errors on the console
I know it is hard to keep track of all errors, but if you need more info, i'm happy to provide. Let's say i keep my server up to date, latest spigot and "latest'' plugin Sbackup. Hope you can find the culprit for 1.9.4, because it is the only backup plugin who actually delete obsolete compressed files, when it works, it works like a charm, and the trouble started when Mojang went from 1.8 to 1.9... Thanks...
@Timrek123
Hi Timrek123,
1. Sure if you want to go ahead with this.
2. I can take a look into this for sure.
3. You can select what folders you want to have backed up, isn't this the same as excluding folders?
4. Could you elaborate more on this for me?
5. We have a donate button near the top right of this page, If you cant find it you can see it on the curse page of this plugin too: http:mods.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/simplebackup
I love your plugin! Please add the following:
1) Better documentation (I can help you with that)
2) A way to backup the root folder of the server
3) A way to exclude certain folders
4) Better CONFIG.YML parsing to trap errors
5) A way to donate to you for all of your hard work
@YuriT
I get the same problem as you. I have set the server to keep backups for 20 days, but after the 20 days it just keeps on piling up :(
I was using Minebackup for years but unfortunatly it seems to have stopped working for 1.9. I stumbled upon simple backup as a replacement for map backup. I did a fresh install with 1.7 and the stock config. The first backup after the server has been started works, after that it shows an error in the console. It will not backup again until the server is shutdown and restarted.
Latest error shown in the console.
Great it work's :)
@Gurke2508
Update has been done, from some small testing it seems to work fine, let me know if it doesnt work, file just needs to be approved.

Hello Guy`s
Can you update the Plugin please to Spigot 1.9? Its a very great Plugin but it don`t work fine with 1.9
@chiyan233
Fine with me
Can I share this plugin to www.mcbbs.net?
I have this config like that and today I got my 4th backup without anything being deleted. in log it looks like it is not even trying to delete anything:
@YuriT
From looking at it I think it should start deleting backups older than 3 days which should do what you are looking for.
I want to have a rolling backup of 3 last days, but I am not quite sure how to configure it. Does this config look correct for this purpose?
Hello, I'm experiencing a problem. I can't seem to change the config file without it resetting itself. I've turned the server off, changed the file how I want it to be, started the server and it just resets itself. Any ideas?
Thanks, Noah
