Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.
This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.
Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)
You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:
- [Admin] Flabaliki: my message here
Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.
A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.
That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.
Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.
Features:
- Uses permissions to apply prefixes and suffixes to selected users or groups.
- Alternatively, can use prefixes and suffixes from plugins supported by Vault.
- Formatting/color codes are fully supported.
- Configure the chat format to display however you want.
- Developer API for fetching prefixes and suffixes.
- Easy to use commands for adding / removing prefixes in game.
- Set prefixes and suffixes per group or per user.
- Plays nicely with Essentials /nick command.
- Option to allow multiple prefixes / suffixes, and a configurable separator which is placed between them to separate them.
- A prefix or suffix tier system (so that you can make multiple ranking ladders).
- UUID support
- Offline mode server support (using usernames instead of UUIDs)
- Factions chat tags support (read our Configuration page)

As of version 2.3.1, this plugin uses an automatic updater to check if you are running the latest version, and if not, it downloads the latest version. To disable this please set "Auto-Update" to "false" in the config.yml file.
@DarkcyanHD
Take the [world] variable out of the template. That variable just places the name of the current world you are in in the name.
When i talk ingame it says <Dovahkiin world[Co-Owner]XxRootBeerxX> Any ideas on why it says world before the prefix?
@Jawdan
Hey, can you submit this suggestion as a ticket, so I can find it easily when I do another update, thank you :)
Hey Flanaliki, is it possible to use more than one template?
I would like group A to use template A and group B to use template B.
Is this possible?
EDIT: Please add the timestamp back :D
Also, I solved the problem by using the template: format: '<[prefix][suffix]> ' but it would be better if you could multiple ones rather than having to customize for each group.
@funk1983
No, that's why you don't have to in 1.3, if you use Permissions Bukkit
is it necessary to /spr reload each time someone changes group to update the prefixes?
@andrewzhang
Well, if you really would like, I can always just add that feature to Simple prefix, it wouldn't be that hard. It's not exactly what I would like the plugin to be, however, but its not stretching it too far.
@Flabaliki
Yep. Exactly that.
@andrewzhang
What does that do, allow colours in chat?
This awesome plugin conflicts with colorme. :(
@Flabaliki
Cool thanks.
EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, thank you for the 1.3 update! I could kiss you right now. :P
I... Love you
@matthew9170
I've added world support in the new version, 1.3
Is it possible for you to add multiple world support so that we can know who is in what world when they talk, we used to format our chat like this: [Channel Name][Rank]Player Name[World] : Message So can you make it so the plugin can detect the world the player is in and put it after the suffix and once that happens we would be happy to use it on our server.
is this possible? because i get no output

permissions eg
User:
permissions:
simpleprefix.User true
@robozman
simpleprefix.admin: false
give it to the groups that are showing the 'admin' prefix but are not admins. (if that is indeed your permission node for an admin prefix) Op's probably automatically have all permissions. And when they have permissions for multiple prefixes.. well.. the plugin just chooses the admin prefix.
I have all the prefixes I need set up and running but the issue I am facing is that all my mods, admins, and myself (owner) are oped. I use permissions also. If the person is non-op when they join the server the retain their correct prefix but if they are op, they will use the [Admin] prefix automatically and not use the one i gave to them through permissions. Is there a way around this. Otherwise, I really like both the simplicity of the plugin, and the easy perms integration. Thanks in advance
