SignLink
We will no longer continue development of our plugins
We would like to thanx everyone for the support!
Development builds are no longer available after 15-10-2014 00:00
Plugin Name: SignLink
Bukkit: 1.7.2 R0.1/R0.2
Version: 1.34
Description
This plugin acts as a bridge between plugins and signs to easily display text on signs. Instead of entering commands, clicking the sign, or any other routine plugins could use, players can enter 'variables', key values starting (and ending) with %, to show information at that spot.
It also includes features no other plugin is needed for, such as custom text and ticker values you can set in values.yml. Signs are stored on file, they survive reloads and server restarts.

Commands
Configuration
The linkedsigns.txt contains information of where signs are located. The values.yml sets the (standard) usable keys.
# In here you can set default values for this plugin. # The ticker property can be LEFT, RIGHT or NONE and sets the direction message is 'ticked'. # tickerInterval sets the amount of ticks (1/20 of a second) are between the ticker update. # The value is the thing to display or tick. # To use colors in your text, use the § sign followed up by a value from 0 - F. # Example: §cRed to display a red colored 'Red' message. # You can find all color codes on the internet (they may use & there, ignore that!) sign: ticker: NONE value: This is a regular message you can set and is updated only once. test: tickerInterval: 3 ticker: LEFT value: 'This is a test message being ticked from right to left. '
Permissions and commands
Use /togglesignupdate to turn sign updating on or off, just in case someone made a huge amount of updating signs that causes lag. Two permission nodes (Bukkit permissions):
signlink.addsign: description: Allows you to build signs containing variables default: op signlink.toggleupdate: description: Allows you to set if signs are being updated or not default: op

Metrics
This plugin sends server count statistics to MCStats.org. You can (globally) opt out in the PluginMetrics/config.yml file.
@bergerkiller
I tried the 15.4. build which was the newest one two days ago. Haven't tried yet the 23.4. build. Will do it today and tell you the results.
EDIT: I just realised I might actually have an outdated BKCommonLib on my test server, where I tried SignLink two days ago. Will do the update properly and let you know then.
@Etsija The latest dev-builds appear to work fine, do you have any errors in the log that might help me out?
It seems to be somehow broken now. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6411310/2013-04-22_23.36.58.png
This happens with the "standard test" sign:
So no scrolling text.
@Etsija Actually, the link is wrong. I'll fix that up.
Hi, the dev builds are offline! Can you please put them back on, as the official build is of no use (spams the console with Java errors).
How can i make an open / closed sign?
@YouTrundle
Yes this is possible. You need to do a command block powerd via a redstone reapeter and the first command block: /var edit (Name var) then a redstone cable (1 block) and a commandblock /var set (text) so: 1 Input(repeater) 2 cmd block 3 redstone cable (1block) 4 command block
does anyone know why the dev build button doesn't work?
"Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to ci.dj-tcraft.nl:8080"
it was like this last night as well.

Hi, is there any way to set variables with only ONE command? Would be important for using command blocks.
Maybe [/var edit "VARIABLE" "TEXT"] ?

@exfabianex
Hi there! I had the same Problem.i fixed it by installing dev version. I use a dev build of BKCOMMONLib (1.5.1) , so you need a Dev build for this also.(first in list) Otherwise the sign will not display on sign. I hope this will help for you to!
I am not sure if this is an appropriate suggestion to the description of the plugin, but could you add URL shortening to signs? Again, it may be a better idea for a separate plugin, I'm just wondering if it would fit into this one.
@exfabianex
Try making a sign that has only %time%
@exfabianex
Check your permissions
Hi, when i type in %test on a sign and klick on done nothing happends. What is the problem?
New official dev-bukkit build for the new official BKCommonLib v1.50 is out:
Mod remove link to unapproved file.
@NobuMa For scrolling/ticking signs, use this command after placing a sign with variable named 'myvar':
The 2 changes how fast it ticks, the left (or right) sets what direction to tick the text. On the sign you put 'myvar' as '%myvar%'. To change the text I used /var set.
I have make this, about this scroll not :(
@Darth_Buddha Nope :P Git didn't notice the moved files and forgot to move some of them. I don't think they contain any files at all. Latest one should be valid.
Looking at the dev build jar size, It looks a little light compared to the last last...
Is that right?
