@jeep70
When we develop SideKick we want the server admin to be able to obtain a stable version. So, until there is a RB for 1.2.3 CraftBukkit; I wont be fully updating. Right now its only in its Beta Stage. This also applies to everyone, once that RB comes out, I promise I will have a update ready.
Love this plugin! Could you make an list of all commands and their respective nodes? i know you have node and command list, but i mean combining them. Thanks for reading! :) Oh and where is the config?
@splifswift please create a ticket. It is 5.0 I just forgot to update the version in the yml.
I just downloaded and installed the latest version listed here stating it was 5.0 but once it was loaded it comes up as version 4.5 on my server

Not sure if you simply missed revising the code to reflect the proper version or not.
Told ya'. :3

@jeep70
Alright, Updating on here now! Forgot to :P
@jeep70
I recommend checking the Bukkit Forums thread on this; it tends to get updated more frequently.
SideKick is now up to Minecraft 1.2.3-R7, over there.
1.2 please?
@glaivereinpald
An independent player authentication system would be impractical. First, it'd weigh down the plugin unnecessarily. Then, if it was running on an online database so that multiple people could use it, it would only be good for SK users, as opposed to the massive userbase of McBans.
I would in stead recommend going with McBans. Consider also adding plugins such as these:
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/holdguest/
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/thumbsapply/
That allows you to generate the popular setup of a "rules room," a protected area that new users spawn in and have to read rules to learn a password, which they later enter in order to join the normal users' group and become able to go to the actual spawn point and play as a regular user. This ensures that people at least read the rules before they are able to do stuff.
You can also use Bookworm to consolidate your rules.
I think you need to add a player authentication system and this plugin would rule all !!
Hey emerica,
Get ready for 1.2! Code being re-written in bukkit, as well as minecraft. (you probably already knew this, just a reminder)
Good luck.
@Rattatatcraft
While I agree that this could be easily done for clarity (emericask8ur could just reorganize the list of permissions to be in the same order as the commands, too.), I'm not really sure what problems you're having. What permissions are you unclear on? About the only nodes that I would think to be confusing would be .water (which corresponds to the /dehydrate command) and .all (which corresponds to the /all <user> <user> <user> <item> command, which allows you to give an item to two or three people at once). What others are you having trouble with?
Hey, I am setting permissions, and I find it extremely hard finding which permissions go with which commands. Therefore, I have a small request that I am sure will help a lot of people. Can you insert the permission next to the corresponding command? Here's an example:
/Weather <sun/storm> : Weather ~ Sidekick.weather
Oh god, I hope you do it. The best part of it is, no coding changes!
Update: emericask8ur added "/wear" commands, which allow the user to wear non-helmet items on his/her head.

This is a concern for many of us. I'm kinda' leaning toward SK, but Essentials does have a bit more versatility in some areas, now that it's updated. This is because Essentials incorporates many functions that are seen in other plugins, such as some simple jail functions. I think that the big question will boil down to which way spends more space on the server: Do we get the big package of Essentials and work from there, or is it more efficient to run SK, SimpleJail, SetXP, and a few other small plugins for the same functionality? Every function that you intend to use plays a part in this, too. If you're running a different economy plugin, Essentials has a handful of functions that are made useless (I think...), so the SK way appears to be more efficient. I know that Essentials is a CPU hog, but by just how much? With Essentials, you only have to follow one plugin's updates, but when that plugin is outdated, you're screwed. There are so many considerations and so few clear-cut answers. If it helps at all, my upcoming server is going to undergo a query on this, and once we have the results, I can let you know. You'll still have to look at some things differently based on what functions you intend to use (i.e. If we choose Essentials because it has a jailing plugin, but you want either a much more complex jailing system or none at all, our conclusions may differ.), but it may help a bit.
@emericask8ur: Why don't you work with the Essentials crew to make a plugin that covers all the bases, but is slimmed-down? I've suggested this before, but I'd like to strongly advocate the notion. Server admins are so tired of making this hard decisions for similar functionality; if everyone has the option of plugins with the best of all worlds, no one has anything to complain about, especially if they aren't huge CPU hogs. Again, look at the example of all the block-logging plugins: The developer of HawkEye got all the others (read: LogBlock and a handful of others that no one knows about) together to work on Guardian for a single super-plugin. It's certainly an efficient and effective route to go.
@i1cool
Im sorry, Mods can conflict with any plugin. Im not responsible for that. All I can say is remove the mod and start playing.
I have Too many items installed and it use to work but when i installed the pugin it stopped. Is there any way around this?
thx
@fieryhobo
Ill look into it thanks!
you should make it compatible with pail so i can make changes when im not in game :) http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/pail/ but thanks for the awesome plugin
@Lama0
Nope! Every command on the Sidekick list shows Description about it! = Win
