Add red or brown mushrooms to the furnace. You will get a "Roasted mushroom" in return. The red mushroom skin is used in both cases.

Using the 'poppers' settings

If you decide to stick with the default and use the poppers setting, then eating a "Roasted mushroom" will result in the player's hunger level changing according to the 'popper-food-level-delta' setting. Negative values actually would make the player more hungry!

Players will not be able to eat more mushrooms until a time determined by the 'popper-delay-sec' setting has passed.

When the user successfully eats a mushroom they are given a "Slow" potion effect for a time determined by the 'popper-slow-sec' setting.

The 'popper-slow-magnitude' controls how much the user is slowed, but if it is a negative number, the user is actually sped up!

The best benefit of the poppers setting is the ability to still swing a weapon immediatly after eating the mushroom. Eating is done instantly, so this is an advantage over the vanilla eating mechanism.

Not using the 'poppers' setting

If you set 'use-poppers' to false, the major features are not applicable and the "Roasted mushroom" simply uses the Beetroot skin by default. You can change the skin to any other editable material by changing the value of 'result-material' setting to any value from the enum 'org.bukkit.Material'. The "Roasted mushroom" will look like that item and have the same nutritional value. Choosing a non-editable item is not supported.

Enjoy!

  • use-poppers: true
  • popper-delay-sec: 4
  • popper-food-level-delta: 3
  • popper-slow-magnitude: 5
