Shopkeepers
Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.
Known potential issues
A list of known potential issues of the latest version of Shopkeepers can be found in the wiki: This documents differences between Minecraft/Spigot versions, and existing Minecraft/Spigot issues related to Shopkeepers.
If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Want to help?
The less I have to do myself, the more time I have to write plugins. Therefore I am looking for someone who would be willing to get involved in the project. That could for example mean:
- Keeping the documentation (the wiki) up-to-date with plugin updates.
- Improving the existing documentation.
- Creating and maintaining translations.
- Help managing issues and answering questions of users.
If you are a programmer with experience in writing bukkit plugins, or have ideas on how you can contribute to the project beyond that, let me know as well! If you are interested, feel free to contact me via PM.
Beyond that, everybody is invited to help others with issues and questions in the issue tracker, comment section, and the discord channel! Also consider contributing translations!
Third-Party Add-On Plugins
Sometimes, a feature is either to specific to include directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. The plugins listed here extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin.
These plugins are maintained by other community members. You need to check for yourself whether they are still up-to-date and compatible with the latest Shopkeepers version. If you run into issues while using any of these add-ons, try to first reproduce your problem without any add-ons before you report it.
- Shopkeepers List: Adds commands and inventory-based GUIs to browse shops and find shops that trade a specific item.
- ShopkeepersNavAddon: Adds inventory-based GUIs that allow you to browse all player shops, all admin shops, and to find shops that trade a specific type of item. You can teleport to a particular shopkeeper by clicking a button inside the GUI.
This plugin also integrates support for trading with Vault-based currency, but does so by replacing Shopkeepers' normal trade handling.
If you have also written an add-on plugin and want it listed here, let me know!
It has been nearly 2 weeks since you told me that the plugin need a couple day to update. Can I have the exact time ?
Hello!
I have a problem when spawning an admin, I configurate the villager and then suddenly it disappear and a lot of other villagers appear insted and I can't delate or configurate them.
What can I do? I try a lot of things but nothing seems to work.
In reply to missdeadful:
Consider creating an issue ticket over at GitHub (https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers/issues) together with further information that could help to reproduce the issue, such as your exact server and Shopkeepers plugin versions, which other plugins you are using, your save.yml file, etc.
The shopkeeper entity disappearing could be caused by:
* Some other plugin removing the entity.
* The server itself removing the entity if the server's difficulty is set to peaceful and the mob is some kind of monster (not the case here).
The other villagers appearing: I have no explanation for this yet. Maybe these are other shopkeepers, which one of your other plugins prevented from spawning, but the Shopkeepers plugin periodically tries to respawn them. However, this doesn't explain why you are not able to edit them.
If you are running a fairly recent server version, my current guess would be that probably one of your other plugins is interferring somehow. You could try removing plugins to see if they resolve the issue. Or you setup a separate test server where you add plugins in small batches until the issue occurs, in order to figure out which other plugins is causing this.
Also, enable debug mode inside the config and then send me a server log with the additional debug output from the time your encounter this issue.
Hope that you will update this plugin to 1.18 soon
How do you enable shopkeepers such as guardians, ender dragons ect? I was told you gotta go on the config but i cant find anything.
In reply to DawnsExcalibur:
You can add mobs to the "enabled-living-shops" config setting. However, if the mob is not on this list by default, it has probably been intentionally omitted for some reason. For instance, ender dragons won't work as shopkeeper mob, because players will not be able to interact with it. So you won't be able to open its editor or trading menu. This also makes it difficulty to remove the shopkeeper again in-game.
Another alternative is to use the Citizens plugin integration to spawn NPC types that are not properly supported by the Shopkeepers plugin itself. See https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Citizens-Shopkeepers
In reply to blablubb:
Alright thanks for letting me know
Says it has support for signs yet no tutorial for it anywhere that I can find, if so it is buried. Can we please get one for the signs?
In reply to DerpDerpingtonIsHere:
It works just like the other "shop object types". See https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Creating-Shops#shop-creation
Basically, for an admin shop, look at a block and type "/shopkeeper sign". For a player shop, use the shop creation item to cycle through thr shop object types until "sign" is selected.
Hey my shop keepers are only registering half the chest now any way to fix?
hi i was wondering if there’s any way to copy and paste shopkeepers ? like so i don’t have to redo all of what they sell again because i’m trying to make a bedwars type of game and need them to have to the same shop for each team
In reply to blaireplays:
Not yet. You could copy-paste the data of the shopkeeper (and adjust the shopkeeper id and uuid, as well as coordinates) inside the save.yml file while the server is not running. But there is built-in way to copy shopkeepers or their trades.
Awesome plugin!
Hello, je voudrais savoir si le plugin peut etre compatible avec Citizen pour mettre un shop dans un NPC avec le skin d'un joueur ?
In reply to pocrate3:
Yes, see: https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Citizens-Shopkeepers
What the....
Why normal players can create cost only for emeralds?
In adnin shop, you can add own material, and nornal player can't? Emeralds are rare items.....
In reply to petyxbron:
Players can creating selling, buying, trading, and book shops. The selling, buying, and book shop use the currency item specified inside the config (emerald by default). You can change it to whatever you like.
Alternatively, players can also create 'trading' shops and then setup trades for arbitrary items. See the wiki on how these shops are setup: https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Player-Shop-Setup
In reply to blablubb:
Sorry, I didn't read the wiki properly. I will test it out, I was in a little rage. Sorry for that. I'm interested in your plugin so much and this just confused me. Hope I will fell love with this plugin. Let's try it again
Can i somehow spawn a Shopkeeper at a specific <X> <Y> <Z> ? I tried to find for a whay but most of the links are just introduce of this plugin without any further answers
In reply to rauden6969:
Nope, you cannot currently. Some types of shopkeepers additionally take into account both the direction towards the player creating the shopkeeper, and the block face that is clicked / targeted. Clicking or looking at a block is therefore the most convenient way to specify all of those things for players in-game.
If you want to automate the creation of shopkeepers of specific type, you can create shopkeepers at specific locations via the API by also providing the location's yaw and block face there. But there is no command interface for this yet.
