Shopkeepers
Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.
Known potential issues
A list of known potential issues of the latest version of Shopkeepers can be found in the wiki: This documents differences between Minecraft/Spigot versions, and existing Minecraft/Spigot issues related to Shopkeepers.
If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Want to help?
The less I have to do myself, the more time I have to write plugins. Therefore I am looking for someone who would be willing to get involved in the project. That could for example mean:
- Keeping the documentation (the wiki) up-to-date with plugin updates.
- Improving the existing documentation.
- Creating and maintaining translations.
- Help managing issues and answering questions of users.
If you are a programmer with experience in writing bukkit plugins, or have ideas on how you can contribute to the project beyond that, let me know as well! If you are interested, feel free to contact me via PM.
Beyond that, everybody is invited to help others with issues and questions in the issue tracker, comment section, and the discord channel! Also consider contributing translations!
Third-Party Add-On Plugins
Sometimes a feature is either to specific to include it directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. The plugins listed here extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin.
These plugins are maintained by other community members. If you run into issues while using any of these add-ons, try to first reproduce your problem without any add-ons before you report it.
ShopkeepersNavAddon(abandoned): Adds inventory-based GUIs that allow you to browse all player shops, all admin shops, and to find shops that trade a specific type of item. You can teleport to a particular shopkeeper by clicking a button inside the GUI.
This plugin also integrates support for trading with Vault-based currency, but does so by replacing Shopkeepers' normal trade handling.
If you have also written an add-on plugin and want it listed here, let me know!
I found bug, help me please... All my Shopkeepers have the essentials color code (&1 &2 &3 &4 &a &b .....) but when I restart my server, those color are disappeared. and show the name like ?1 ?2 ?3 ?4
Before Restart After Restart
@Dawgzx
I had this problem. Turned out it was an issue with a worldguard flag not permitting mobs to spawn in the region. Are you using worldguard?
All my shopkeepers have suddenly dissapeared for no apparent reason, spawn verifier is also not working to prevent this...
The config file is allright, all shopkeepers are listed perfectly... any Idea why this may be happening?
@WolfClawsKevin
If you just switch to survival mode, you do it the same way a player would, and just encase the chest in bedrock or something
How do I as admin create a witch shopkeeper?
I am trying to set up a repair shops, but it seems that you cannot trade a damaged enchanted item unless it is the exact right amount damaged?
Example: I want players to be able to trade their damaged power 2 bow and a diamond for the same bow undamaged. But in practice, it will only accept undamaged items. Is there any way around this?
Right now I can only create a witch shopkeeper for player shops. Is there a way to get a witch shopkeeper for administrator shops, or will you add a way in a future update?
Thought I had found the perfect plugin even made a market untill i found that it doesn't support in-game currency. Is there any alternative plugins around
@shadvalentine
To the best of my knowledge, no... however, I do what you want to do by having them trade 1 Dirt.
Is it possible to set up a shop where they will give items away?
I would like to set up help books that new players can pickup from the shopkeepers ... but it looks like it requires an item to trade .. was wondering if there was a way around this?
@taperpaper
Oh thanks a lot, didn't know, sorry!
I also just opened a ticket.
I have shopkeepers that started working normally again with the 1.5.2 fix. All of the shopkeepers near my spawn area came back and seem to work perfectly normal.
However, I had a few villages set up several hundred blocks away from the spawn location - also with shopkeepers. These do not load. If I have a player go stand in that location and then reload the plugins, the shopkeepers will be there. But as soon as the player leaves that location, if they return, the shopkeepers are gone again.
When a player goes to this area and the shopkeepers are missing - the server logs the fact that it was unable to spawn the shopkeepers at this area. So, it's like it understands that it "should" spawn shopkeepers here...but they are not there. Again - if I reload plugins while the player is in the area, they appear...but as soon as the player leaves, they go away again and do not come back if another player comes to this area.
Finally - all of the shopkeepers in my spawn area are there and do not disappear...it is ONLY the shopkeepers in locations several hundred blocks away from spawn area.
Please help.
Thanks!
EDIT: I am opening a ticket, pardon, thought you were one that didn't use the ticket system.
nisovin,
I currently have random normal villagers running around with the nametags of shopkeepers over their heads. The normal shopkeepers are operating fine, but there seems to be some sort of issue causing misplaced name tags. It reoccurred with a server restart too.
Additionally, I am seeing two new errors:
@taperpaper
What about seting Witches or Signs as shopkeepers? I tried shift+click towards the sky, but the npc type won't change. Could I be doing something wrong? Maybe Witches and Signs are only for normal player trades?
My members only have the permission 'shopkeeper.player.trade' yet they can make shopkeepers of any type. Any idea as to why this is the case?
i get a warning when i delete the shopkeeper .......

I get a concurrent modification exception when clicking either the anvil or the fire block in the edit shopkeeper window. This happens with both the admin shopkeeper and player shopkeeper. There aren't actually any issues that I have seen other than a nasty stack trace in console. Good work, love this plugin.
can you by chance add in a command feature with skins like /shopkeeper skin <playername> so you can have them looking like a player or make shadey npcs or even have a npc that looks like the slenderman or if u couldnt connect it to some skin bank why not have your own skin bank in the files so u can use /shopkeeper skin <imagename> and also can u make something like /shopkeeper say <range> <msg> so it comes up in chant as <shopkeepersname> <msg> when u come in range eg Tryrone:Why hello my good Sir welcome to our glorious shop or Slenderman: Im watching u from afar next victom so that when ur near a npc they can say something because wats more awesomer then players and mobs talking? and whats more nicer than walking into a shop and having the greeter there say hello and welcome to our shop
@MasterMithrandir
/shopkeeper or /shopkeepers will spawn you a villager, to set the trades Shift+Click and it will open up the shopkeeper editor, on the side you will be able to change the villager's appearance and name, there's also a delete option. you can find more info above on this thread
Could anyone indicate me a list with all of this plugin's commands? :)
