Shopkeepers
Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.
Known potential issues

Want to help?
The less I have to do myself, the more time I have to write plugins. Therefore I am looking for someone who would be willing to get involved in the project. That could for example mean:
- Keeping the documentation (the wiki) up-to-date with plugin updates.
- Improving the existing documentation.
- Creating and maintaining translations.
- Help managing issues and answering questions of users.
If you are a programmer with experience in writing bukkit plugins, or have ideas on how you can contribute to the project beyond that, let me know as well! If you are interested, feel free to contact me via PM.
Beyond that, everybody is invited to help others with issues and questions in the issue tracker, comment section, and the discord channel! Also consider contributing translations!
Third-Party Add-On Plugins
Sometimes a feature is either to specific to include it directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. The plugins listed here extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin.
These plugins are maintained by other community members. If you run into issues while using any of these add-ons, try to first reproduce your problem without any add-ons before you report it.
ShopkeepersNavAddon(abandoned): Adds inventory-based GUIs that allow you to browse all player shops, all admin shops, and to find shops that trade a specific type of item. You can teleport to a particular shopkeeper by clicking a button inside the GUI.
This plugin also integrates support for trading with Vault-based currency, but does so by replacing Shopkeepers' normal trade handling.
If you have also written an add-on plugin and want it listed here, let me know!
Please fix the problem we are all getting i go to add the items to trade like your supposed to but i myself cant even access the actual trade menu to see if it works properly... It's a really good idea to have for a plugin but it needs to be fixed.
@monstercat101
Supports them fine for me, are you using a plugin to edit item names/lore? Or an anvil? Some plugins such as ItemRenamer for example don't actually edit the NBT tags so this plugin wouldn't recognize that it was named.
In the last update it said it supports item names, but it doesnt seem to? thanks so much for an AMAZING plugin, really :)
for the love of god please fix your plugin i love it a lot and it stopped working with 1.4.5
Not sure what happened with this latest update, but now my shopkeepers dont work at all.
I have the same problem as CaptinArubin and BAWs
I have the same problem as BAWSxFatality.
this mod looks awesome but i can't use it... I can create a villager, choose what i want he sells but when i try to buy something, nothing happens and i have many warnings in my server... Does someone has a solution ?
Have you ever considered adding more mobs than just villagers? Like suggested here, in Fire_Feather's post.
@destroyer4017
I got same prob before but i realised that you need to put them on same order like if you have trade that the villager wants 1 sugar cane + 1 dirt for 1 diamond You need to place it like if the first box shows sugar can and the second one dirt you need to place on the first one sugar cane then dirt or else when you try pickup the item it goes back. If you didnt understand what i mean i can show you a screenshot..
Whenever I try to trade the when I try to take something out it goes back into its slot, preventing me from trading.
You may of already done this but, If not could we please have the buttons in the shops the save etc have the items name set and have it changeable in the config? maybe even settings for the Lore as well.
Another bug, Well in my opinion it is a BUG and I class it as a bug because it annoys players and my self. It seems that the GUI trading does not respect data values this means that if i made a shop that buys jungle Planks some smart ass annoying player can come upto my shop and sell me Normal OAK planks and the shop allows him to do that :o This is also a major major issue when it comes to wool.
There needs to be more checks put in place to make sure the item put in is really exactly what It was setup with.
Can you make it so multiple people can acess the villager or the chest it's connected to?
i'm looking for the same
@toxictroop
Thx, i know i have to crouch&click to set up the trade menu, but when i finished it and a other player wants to trade with the villager no trade window appears.
@Nussi1986
shift click
Nothing happen when i set up a villager and make a right click on him! Whats Wrong?
I'm having the same issue as Marcus kind of. the problem wasn't as bad on the 1.9 test version but it happens everytime with the full version now that I've updated(problem persists even when downgrading back to the test version now). When this happens the shops will no longer accept the item as currency if its named. Even replacing the item in the shop with a new one that is named doesn't fix it, you have to delete the shop and remake it and sometimes even then it isn't fixed.
Edit: This bug has broken all 32 shops in our server. Even new shops don't work if they used a named item for currency. If you go into the shopkeepers inventory to edit it the item name and lore are still on the item. If you open the shopkeeper as if you are buying something the name and lore is stripped from it and it won't accept the named version anymore. This only happens to currency items not the items being sold.
Edit 2: Sometimes the item names aren't removed in the buying window but even then they won't accept named currency items.
Edit 3: It would appear the culprit was actually ItemRenamer and ProtocolLib.
Hey pretty cool plugin, But i found bug that if you put an item to shop thats colored Example sword named Sword and colored with yellow with this plugin http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/item-modification-commands then it works first at the shop but after restart the item name will be ?(COLORCODE)(NAME) Example in this case ?eSword and it also loses the color! Can you fix it?
