Looking for Dev builds?
Dev builds give off new features and bug fixes before they are officially released, however these features and bug fixes may not have been tested as much as a release on here
Old page:
I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.
If you want to see the old page, it is here

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

In reply to TheDomibear:
As the wheel sign is finding the licence sign, it typically means that there is a block being used that is not enabled in the materials list. However it could be that you have a expected angle that the block detection does not accept (such as a diagonal attachment)
The way to troubleshoot is to see what Ships sees as the ships structure. To do this simply type the following command in. The ship will turn to bedrock for just you, from there you will be able to see what parts of the ship should have turned to bedrock but didnt. At those points lie the issue.
/Ships ship <ship id> track
On some cases its that the tracking system is picking up blocks that it shouldn't have and reaching the structure block limit, meaning that the move sign doesn't make it into the structure. Or it maybe that your ship is too large for the ships block limit, resulting in the move sign not being picked up that way.
Oh and one last thing to note, the command does not update the ships structure meaning that if you make a change (to the config or change a block) then you will need to refresh the ships structure. Just attempt to move it with the move sign or do it the more traditional way and sneak+right click the licence sign. If you did it the traditional way you will get a message when it is updated.
Hope that helps. Message me if you have any other questions. I try to respond quickly and effectively.
In reply to mosemister:
how do you find the ship id? I am trying to enable autopilot but the autofill suggestions dont work
in minecraft server on 1.15.2 when creating the Ships sign it says that every ship type isn't a correct ship type, for instance when typing Airship on the third line it says that you need to use one of the allowed ship types including Airship. no errors returned in the console or the logs
In reply to Forge_User_10317864:
Hi. You type the ship type on the second line with the ship name on the 3rd. Hope that helps
When I right click the [Ships] sign I make it erases everything on it and says "[Ships] is not installed on this server" in chat. I don't notice anything different in the logs. The server is on 1.15
In reply to eilrahcrrodmc:
It looks like you are using Ships 5.0.1.14. This is not compatible with Minecraft 1.15, please use the Ships 6 alpha builds you can find the download here.

original:
When you type the following command in, what is the version stated?
/ships info
And what have you written on your sign? line numbers would be usful.
In reply to mosemister:
Thank you!
In reply to eilrahcrrodmc:
Your very welcome. Glad I could help.
Another update:
This new update only has changes a developer would notice, but A developer brings features to the user eventually and these under the hood changes will not take long to show as the new Vault addon is being approved that requires these changes to work.
There was official support for Ships 4, but it was notably missing from Ships 5. It is back with the ability to change the price of each ship type creation instead of Ships 4 one price fits all style.
i get this error when I even didn't create the ship. newest version and 1.14.4 paper

In reply to Forge_User_37483241:
Hey. Your using Ships 5.0.1.14, that is only compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2. for MC 1.13 or better then you need to use the Alpha builds of Ships. You can see all versions of Ships here.
https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/ships/files?sort=-game-version
You can get this link by scrolling to the top of the page and clicking the "Files" tab
Hey, I really like this plugin but i'm having some problems with. First, the speed at which it moves from the moment i click it is a big delay. I'm not sure if it's my side or the plugin's side. I checked my timings a lot read numbers between 1000-2000 ticks which I'm sure isn't good.
In reply to percyiiv:
So there are a lot, i mean a lot of calculations done to get a ship moving, especially larger ships. In a traditional game where the shape, size, etc is all known then its a single calculation. Or if the thing your moving has multiple parts that can be anywhere, then the calculations are normally just chucked onto another thread.
Due to minecrafts lack of support for multiple threads, i dont have the latter option. However you can reduce the delay by selecting a option in the config where it moves the last known shape of the ship. This means the calculations to move the ship are halved. But it means if you make a change to the ship, then you need to manually update the ship by shift clicking the licence sign.
Its not a perfect solution, but its the best of the bad situation. If you are worried about TPS there is the ability to maintain your average tps, but at the cost of moving the ship even slower. This is done by swapping the movement and block detection algorithm from ships 5 to ships 6.
I am pleased to announce that Ships Alpha 3.2 was approved today and Alpha 3.3 has been uploaded today too, so not too long before another update.
But it gets better. As promised, all Bukkit Bridge addons would be ported to Ships 6 before Ships 6 comes out of Alpha. Today marks the official release of the Grief Prevention Addon for Ships 6. You can find a link to it in the Addon section above.
For those who wish for the grief prevention addon for sponge, both the sponge and bukkit editions are rolled into one, therefore you can download the bukkit edition for your sponge server and ships with everything working. Note that sponge has not yet been tested and that is why its not yet available on Ore
More of the Addons will be coming. Thanks for your patience.
How do i run two ships, whenever i make a new ship sign, it says name taken? I used a different name it just wont let me make 2 ships. Is there a way i can configure this?
In reply to arneezy:
Just need to know, what line are you putting the name on? And whats your MC version and Ships version
In reply to mosemister:
The first ship works perfectly, i go to make another airship i do the same [ships] airship (different name) My server is 1.8.3 spigot/bukkit with via version. I downloaded ->Ships 5.0.1.8 (MC 1.8-1.8.9)
In reply to arneezy:
Oh wow thats old. So your running on MC 1.8 - Ships 5.0.1.8. And writing the name on the 3rd line of the sign.
Mind if i ask what the name of your previous ship is and what the name of your new ship is? There is no configuration to turn off the id system in ships as Ships 4+ requires it for data, that the name system creates the id of the ship
In reply to mosemister:
First ship is named 'Arneezy', second one is named 'Wool' how can i turn off the id system
In reply to mosemister:
In reply to arneezy:
is there any updated versions of Ships that would work for minecraft 1.8? i also run ViaVersions 1.8+ if that helps
