I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

Move the ship:
In Ships, movement is done by signs. You can see all signs here
Collide types:
Name | ID | Description |

Detect collide | DETECT_COLLIDE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the ship will not move with the error of this block being in the way |
Material | MATERIAL | Material means that you can build a ship out of this block and the Ships block detection system will detect it as part of your ship |
Ignore | IGNORE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the block will break and the ship will take its place |

Looking for a development wiki? maven/gradle dependencies? or something else relating to ships or translate core? Take a look at the getting started wiki
This is just a suggestion and i think it would make a nice addition to rp servers, but do you think you could add ship yards to this plugin. Pretty much use a custom block or set a region where ships can be built then upon completion have the dry dock flooded. Much like how the old Archimedes mod was.

Hello iam trying to learn how to use the Submarine's and i cant figure out how the engine is suppose to work. It seems to be different from airship and i haven't found out what it is suppose to be/

2 things:
1) new version of Ships is being approved (5.0.1.13). If you have experienced crashing on something along the lines of CastException, then this update will assist hopefully.
2) md_5 released a API 1.13 preview (was not expecting) so Ships 5.1.0.0 is now under development. Ships 5.1 should be released 1-2 days after 1.13 releases

While for many people out there this is the time of the year to be with family, friends and loved ones. I personally am not the festive type (to myself). So I plan on bringing a new update to Ships 5. This update will most likely be small but it addresses a few bits of code that will be removed in the 5.1 update.
I hope that everyone enjoys Christmas.
New Ship 5.0.1.11.
Fixes a few major bugs from Ships 5 and adds more rotation blocks.
Please note that the 5.0.1.10+ versions of Ships are only for MC 1.12 for the time being however if you wish for a 1.8-1.11.2 version, please voice your MC version and I will happily make it. However 5.1.0.0 will only be for MC 1.13 and will not have a version made for any older minecrafts. This is because the code for Spigot 1.13 is drastically different as stated in the comment below.
I will continue fixing Ships bug, just need to find them. If you do find any or wish for something in Ships, please state. New features will be added to Ships 6 with the exception of a few (that are planned for the 5.1.0.0 release).

It finally happened!!!
I have just read the current planned changelog for minecraft 1.13. and there was one change that stood out. The fact minecraft is fully dropping support for Item and Block numeric ids.
Why should I care:
Ships (since 3.1.1) has had support for of the "materials list" that uses the block numeric ids (ships 5+ use sub ids (data ids)). Not only that but the internals of ships currently relays on sub ids.
This means ships 5 will definitely not work on minecraft 1.13 and ships 6 will need to be updated to support the new way.
Does this mean we will finally get a full release of ships 6 sooner then later?
No.
Currently bukkit has a alternative for the main numerical ids in the form of material names (this is something ships6 uses already) however they don't have a alternative for sub ids (well ...they have MaterialData but you need a sub id to create/modify it) and we as developers probably wont get a alternative until the release of 1.13 (maybe able to get it in the snapshot 1.13 bukkit if they release them still).
So...... Plan?
Current plan is to halt development of ships6 for the time being and work on 5.1.0.0. adding support for the 1.12 blocks as well as the 1.13 blocks as well as fix as many issues as possible for a quick stable release to work on your new servers.
Your making it sound easy....
Thats because when i was designing ships 5. The numeric ids had already started to fade out so i didn't want to rely on them unless i had to. And because I did need to. I made it so i could quickly swap it out for something else. So yeah.... It will be easy. Just annoying for users as you are now forced to update.... But then again. You are probably used to it by all the other plugins using NMS to do basic things.
Any new features in ships 5.1?
Currently only small features will be added like the new blocks. Maybe some changes to text
Will 5.1 break compatibility with any of my other plugins that use ships?
Currently i don't know. Probably not unless one of thouse plugins reads the materialsList right from the file or used my SpecialBlock API.
Release date?
Current plan is about 2-3 days after the bukkit release of 1.13
Coming from ships6?
Ill try and add code to convert ships 6 and 5.0 files into 5.1 files automaticly. (Please note it will still use ships 5 like files for ships data) due to how the ship loaders work

Ships 6 alpha 1.1.0 is coming very soon. Here is the change log for it.
- fixed issue where players fall of ship when rotating.
- minecraft 1.9 and lower will have full ships 6 support
- removed ships 6 movement where player floats and then teleports (now teleports with the block they are standing under)

I know I haven't updated Ships for a while on any platform with the exception of 'Ships 6.0.0.0 -b Alpha 1.0.2' (Released yesterday) and that came with a tiny patch (if you look at the code you will see that 1 line was added .... that's it). There is a huge update (Alpha 1.1) in the works. AutoPilot 2.0 has been reprogrammed from the group up again and again to iron out as many bugs as possible in the path finder. But you have an update before that coming your way (Alpha 1.0.3). That should be dropping late Thursday.
