What is Safe Creeper |
---|
Control creepers, Withers, EnderDragons, Enderman, TNT, Fireballs and a lot more!
With Safe Creeper you can control creeper explosions and other things like, fireballs, TNT, Enderman and a lot of other things, you can set if a creeper explosions destroys blocks. You can set if Zombie's can break down doors. You can also set a lot of other things, the possibilities are almost endless! A few other examples are that you can set up if players are able to use TNT blocks, if creepers will explode above the surface and underneath they wont, set if Enderman can place and break blocks, even if they can clone blocks, explosion sounds, smoke effects and a lot of more things. The plugins is fully configurable and it has multi world support. This is a must have for most server administrators.

External Connections |
---|
Safe Creeper makes some connections to external servers. One of these connections is to dev.bukkit.org itself. Safe Creeper uses this connection to check whether there are any updates available. Safe Creeper is able to download these updates automatically from the dev.bukkit.org servers. Since Safe Creeper 1.5.2.3, Safe Creeper is also posting anonymous statistics to statistics.timvisee.com. This post request contains little information about the plugin and the server it´s running on. This request contains the version of Craft Bukkit, the version number of Safe Creeper, and the amount of online players, this post request may also contain additional information coming from Safe Creeper itself, like the amount of Creeper´s nerfed by Safe Creeper. A server address is not included because the statistics system is anonymous. The Safe Creeper statistics system will send the server´s address if enabled in the configuration file. This statistics system has been implemented to give people the ability to see how many servers Safe Creeper is running on. And to give an overview of the global usage of certain Safe Creeper features. All these systems could be disabled in the configuration file. Safe Creeper does not connect to any other external server than the two described above.

@Cheesius
I have already reported this bug, eight messages below. With no intention to sound rude, it might serve you well to read the previous comments, as they quite often offer valuable knowledge and workarounds. This way, you can get your server running with less bugs faster than if you were to wait for a direct reply to you, while the answer had already been given previously.
And as for bugs with plugins in general, there's a big chance that someone else has already noticed them by the time they appear. That's the reason why they usually have been reported here, within the latest pages of the appropriate plugin section (the ones that are really important to read before reporting — and here, it's even on the front one!) :)
Concerning the issue we have in common, here's the answer from Tim Visée:
As precised in this workaround, you don't want to forget that you inverted this particular part of the config when it's time to update with the fixed version! As you haven't tried to edit the config file until now, you might be better off waiting to get the update indeed. Downgrading to 0.5 (what you and I chose) is a working option. We just have to hope for a quick release now from Tim Visée!
Sorry if there are some English mistakes, I took the time to read myself a few times, but it's nearly 6 am where I am right now, and furthermore, it's not my main language. Cheers!
For some reason the latest version seems to make beds not work on my server. I didn't get any error, mind you - but right clicking a bed at night just did nothing at all. I'm pretty sure during the daytime it responded with the "You can only sleep at night" message.
I haven't done full testing yet to see if it is a conflict with another plugin, but the list of possible plugins is very limited. I had recently done a fresh install of craftbukkit, and updated all my plugins. I tested by removing all plugins, and the beds worked. I installed the multiverse plugins, and the beds worked. I installed safe creeper, and the beds stopped working. I backdated to the previous version I had installed (0.5) and the beds woked fine.
I can test the multiverse plugins for conflicts later, but there's a building project going on on my server right now and I don't want to disrupt it.
I'm running craftbukkit-1.2.5-R1.0. The only plugins that could possibly be conflicting (the ones that were running when I last had the bug):
@exeakaexe
Ok thanks for noting. I'll check this out.
Savecreeper 1.01 breaks MyWolf 0.6.3 !!! Dont know why exactly but it does. Tested every plugin one by one...
@sh4nks
Ok thanks for the report. Strange bug btw haha.
I found a small bug - if CreeperControl is enabled, tnt doesn't destroy the world, but if you enable tnt + destroy world everything works :P
@BadDogNoBiscuits
It should be within a mond yes, haha! Maybe even tomorrow but it could take a week or something.
I'll be sure to do that as soon as I am around. If there's a problem, I'll take some time to present it here for added info on the bug. I'll keep in mind the reverting of the player control preference upon updating the plugin.
Do you have even just a slight idea about the release time of your next update? Within the month, or later? It's just to communicate this to the other admin. Thanks for your time, help and answers, as usual!
@BadDogNoBiscuits
About this problem. I also noticed this. Well there is a temporary fix before I released the new version, it's juist inverted. So enable the player control and set 'CanSleep' to false, this will enable the sleep functions again. Please mention that when you update Safe Creeper that you have to set it back. Hope this helps.
I forgot to mention that I thought of manually adding the paragraph about "Player" in our config file when I saw that you added this, after the issue happening. I then verified that the "Player control" was set to false, and even with that, that the "allow sleep" control was set to false too. I thought that maybe the default behaviour for your plugin when this paragraph was missing was to fall back on an active player control. But nothing's changed so far.
Hi there!
Great plugin here, that I've been using on our server for a long time now. One problem though: I updated from 0.5 to 1.0.1 (with the already created config file), and now our users can't sleep at night. During the day, they get the message : "You can only sleep at night", but during the monster hours, they right click the bed without anything happening or any reason given by text.
I reverted back to 0.5 and everything is ok.
For additional info, we were running the latest RB, and now we're running the dev build #2157 (since our server with the RB was showing signs of java extreme errors and lag, with no other culprit than Bukkit itself.) Not many plugins along with yours, the usual : WorldGuard, WorldEdit, CommandBook, PailStone.
Thanks for your time and your looking into this issue!
@pandapipino
Well, you can't currently disable PVP. I'll add this too.
when I activate this plugin my players was able to kill each other in a safezone areas and was able to kill NPC's on the spawn. How can I disable this or is this a bug?
@Royalgamer06
Thanks.
I just released the new version of Safe Creeper. This is a minor update, the only changed thing is that the config file is a little bit changed. I forgot to remove/replace something. The plugin itself isn't changed. You don't have to update Safe Creeper from 1.0 to 1.0.1 if you don't want to, just because it doesn't make any sence.
@timvisee
Thanks. :) There's a lot there.
@Ekevoo
Woops! The change log can be found here; http:www.timvisee.com/projects/bukkit/safe-creeper/changelog/
Changelog doesn't have any changelog information. What changed?
New version released! Please download it from this page, because it could take a while before this page is updated because the file needs to be checked by the bukkit moderators. http:www.timvisee.com/projects/bukkit/safe-creeper/
@Meclizine11
I know this problem and its fixed in the upcomming version. I'll try to release it soon but I don't have much time right now, for example I go to winter sports
