Runecraft
Runecraft is a gameplay modification for SMP, that adds magic to the game without any commands. Runecraft is the longest running Minecraft mod, dating back to the Alpha days. Runecraft boasts over 120 runes and is still under active development. Everything you need in one, immersive, magic plugin.
Magic is done through the form of "runes", significant shapes of materials laid out in the actual game world. These runes can create unique short-term tool enchants, teleporters, hidden walls/passageways, and even the ability to create mobile teleporting bases.
- Player built simple Teleporters that use unique combinations of blocks to identify destinations
- Specific enchantments for dealing with natural hazards (lava, floods, falling gravel)
- Magic blocks that flip between two blocks when you activate them, or reveal secret passages
- Redstone compatibility: allowing runes to be activated by redstone signals
- Multi-world support: all features are completely compatible with multiple-world servers
- Commandless setup: Runecraft is designed for minimum hassle in configuring it. plugin and go!
- Easy configuration: it's simple to disable a rune entirely, or a rune per person.
- Optional permissions compatibility
- Requires no client modification
Runecraft prides itself on its immersive nature, with no need for any slash commands. Everything can be done in-game by players, constructing the runes to create the effects they're looking for. Runecraft is an extremely popular addon for roleplay, PVP, and small servers because of it's out of the box ability to just be installed and start running, and covering a variety of pseudo-administrative and gameplay mechanics from an entirely in game point of view.

Is there a way to turn off the need for runic energy to use runes?
@VyxisPrime
Well, this is the same plugin, if changed, we hope for the better. :)
This bring some old memories back of the old days of Runecraft with Hmod, I like it man!
New Runecraft version being uploaded! Runecraft-3.0.4 was a hefty one! Say thanks to lvletei for most of the hard work on this one!
I have an idea for re adding curses. When I saw them on the removed runes list, I was saddened, because they're pretty awesome. But, I do have to agree, they can be pretty debilitating. So, I have an idea. Add a cool down on how often someone can be cursed. For example, let's say I cast lightning on my friend. Then, some other guy tries to cast mousetrap on him. But instead of lighting my friend on fire, the guy who cast the mousetrap would get a message saying "the target is already saturated with dark energy" or something like that. Also, curses could be disabled by default, and isn't this whole thing what disabled_runes.txt is for? So the server owner can choose? Also, there could be a config setting for the length of the curse cooldowns.
Also, thought you might like to know I will be starting a "runecraft 102" series on YouTube where I go over every single rune. Would be nice to get runecraft some more publicity; it definitely deserves it.
(In case you didn't catch it, the "102" is a bit of a homage to ctri's "runecraft 101") ;)
@Rivkiin
Efficiency is good. Not having the chunks in memory would be better. It'd be nice if the coordinates for all activated runes were recorded in a text file somewhere, that could be helpful. :) And being able to retroactively disable problematic runes would be nice. :)
Thanks for the response. My players eagerly await the time when I can run runecraft again.
@rbos
That is a possibility. I plan on working with the team to get the Levitation Obelisk to be done a little more efficiently. As for where they are...the best way I can say is search around for a redstone torch, using a logging program (like CoreProtect), then going to that location. Since a redstone torch is needed, you can find them pretty quickly with some help. Sorry about this issue and the inconvenience!
When I start the server with Runecraft, no players, a large number of chunks stay resident in memory and the server grinds at 10-15tps until I unload it. Unload Runecraft, /tps goes back up, chunks loaded drops down to the usual 200 or so.
So I think something is up with runes keeping things active. My immediate intuition is the levitation obelisk, since players have built an absolute shitload of them.
Is there any way to determine where they are? Disabling the rune in the configuration file does not appear to disable existing examples of the rune. It probably should.
@XSignia
This is not so much unintentional as much as an inconvenience. I believe we will be fixing this sometime in the future.
@Rivkiin
Ah. It's working in the newer version, but Genesis is disabled for a rewrite anyway. Darn.
Don't know if this is intentional, but when using the slimeball on the correct spot, Runecraft recognizes it as an activation of an Oracle, which consumes the surrounding dust. A block has to be placed above where the water goes, then the slimeball used on the underside to prevent this.
Thanks. I probably should have checked the newer version. Sorry about that.
@XSignia
If you are playing in one of the more recent builds of Runecraft, this has been fixed. If not, and don't wish to update, then when ice melts, it becomes stationary water.
I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but the Surface Tension rune no longer functions correctly since stationary water was made unobtainable. It instead yields a stone block.
As a direct result of this, the Genesis rune is impossible to construct without a command block or some external tool or plugin.
@Josienomscookies
The new version(that's still waiting approval) fixes the issues about disabling runes, sorry I couldn't fix it sooner!
@Amuxix
I am, I'm the owner of the server, I ended up having to delete runecraft because I can't get some runes disabled but I'm hoping I'll be able to add it back in if I can get the issue resolved
@Mouse1703
Thanks for reporting that, I will try to get around fixing that when I have the time!
When trying to blacklist rails in a Reality Master, only rails oriented north-south were unaffected. Rails oriented any different way, straight or curved, were broken as if they were not on the blacklist.
thank you :)

hi all. wher ecan i find a list of all runes and how they are created?
thanks, freaky.
@Josienomscookies
Sorry to take so long to answer, are you an OP on the server? Right now Altar of Judgement can only be activated by OPs.
