Runecraft
Runecraft is a gameplay modification for SMP, that adds magic to the game without any commands. Runecraft is the longest running Minecraft mod, dating back to the Alpha days. Runecraft boasts over 120 runes and is still under active development. Everything you need in one, immersive, magic plugin.
Magic is done through the form of "runes", significant shapes of materials laid out in the actual game world. These runes can create unique short-term tool enchants, teleporters, hidden walls/passageways, and even the ability to create mobile teleporting bases.
- Player built simple Teleporters that use unique combinations of blocks to identify destinations
- Specific enchantments for dealing with natural hazards (lava, floods, falling gravel)
- Magic blocks that flip between two blocks when you activate them, or reveal secret passages
- Redstone compatibility: allowing runes to be activated by redstone signals
- Multi-world support: all features are completely compatible with multiple-world servers
- Commandless setup: Runecraft is designed for minimum hassle in configuring it. plugin and go!
- Easy configuration: it's simple to disable a rune entirely, or a rune per person.
- Optional permissions compatibility
- Requires no client modification
Runecraft prides itself on its immersive nature, with no need for any slash commands. Everything can be done in-game by players, constructing the runes to create the effects they're looking for. Runecraft is an extremely popular addon for roleplay, PVP, and small servers because of it's out of the box ability to just be installed and start running, and covering a variety of pseudo-administrative and gameplay mechanics from an entirely in game point of view.

Here's some ideas for runes
Legend:
T (Tier Block)
H ( Hopper )
F (Fire)
O (Obsidian)
C (Chest)
X (Any block)
A (Air / Nothing)
I (Iron Block)
Vortex Rune
All but the Chest and Hopper is consumed
The level of tier will change the Range on how far the vortex can pick up drop items
Tier 1: 7 Blocks (From Center +3 on all sides)
Tier 2: 15 Blocks
Tier 3: 21 Blocks
Tier 4: 39 Blocks
and so on... Range will depend upon the one who will make it.
There is an functionality, if there is an already placed Vortex, no other vortex can be made withing the combination of both Tier (if possible), meaning 2 tier 1 Vortex will can't be placed where their fields clashes meaning they got a minimum of 6 blocks between each other.

True Mob Rune
Acts similar to True Name in tier and production, but has the similar effect as Ovicaptor in activation.
When mob walks on this, they get turn into heads.
Current mobs to work on:
Zombies
Skeletons
Creepers
Wither Skeleton
For additional effect, if tier block is Coal ore, skeletons will become Wither Heads. But it will consume the tier blocks.
For mobs with no heads will all drop steve heads.

Air Placer
This is a cheeper version of Faith, but only uses 1 block from the Enchanted block (ID).
All rune is Consumed
The enchantment will last longer depending on tier.
The enchantment will only work with Blocks
Effect will make the player place a Block in Mid Air right under the user while left clicking, using the block in the inventory matching the used block used in the enchantment. If a block other then air, water, or lava is already under the player, it will not consume a charge and no block will be placed.

@Kazi42
Quirk of Dev.bukkit.org: the filter on the tickets system defaults to Open Only. So it just means, for one reason or another, your issue was closed, and your filter is how hiding it.
@Mortalsinn
It is Spring String that should be in the disabled-runes.txt Confirmed it on my own server with the Altar of Judgement.
if my tickets have disappeared, is that a good sign?
@ Sadorhael - As you can read in my forums post, I have no clue about permissions, admin stuff whatsoever, I just spread information that I get in order to try to help, as the devteam is atm extremely busy.
Get back to me and tell me what worked for you! That could be of interest for my homeserver or for others as well. Thank you very much.
@ Mortalsinn: According to this list here http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/runecraft/pages/rune-names/ it should be only Spring as rune name..
But according to here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Runecraft#disabled-runes.txt (scroll down a bit) it could be also spring string - as you just said.
The text in the RC wiki says:
"Note: If something up there [the list I linked is meant] doesn't work, try them exactly as shown here:"
So try spring string, if Spring alone doesn't work, and give feedback ?
Regards,
Meri
question about the "spring" rune. I assume this is the one where you can fly around with the string? I tried adding Spring to the disabled list but people can still use it. Is this the correct name. I seem to remember it being called "Spring String" or something like that.
@LapisDemon
Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure that the permissions plugin (PermissionsBukkit) will dictate the syntax here ( hence the : and space after). Still, it seems to that runecraft doesn't register the permission from PermissionsBukkit. I wish you all the best for the wedding, Ctri! I'll wait until you come back.
@Sadorhael: A few days ago I asked for the correct format for the permission nodes, and Der_Niabs answered me it would be
runecraft.runes.<runename>.<action>
The runename is all lowcase, with spaces removed for the node.
I wrote that in the RC forums thread as well, just recently:
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/26803-softwarepluginbukkit-runecraft-215-b-bukkit-only-vanilla-port-in-progress/page__st__6260#entry21299852
So try like runecraft.runes.icepick.true
maybe ? No " : " but a simple " . " ?
And no spaces inbetween.
If the simple " . " doesn't work, try the " : " again, but this time without a space between the " : " and the " true ".
Would be helpful also for the owner of my homeserver to know if that works in general, so I can change my thread according to the outcome, so please post again here, thanks alot.
Regards,
Meri
@Sadorhael
Things are quite busy presently, and I haven't managed to take a look it yet. My friend is getting married this weekend so my time available is somewhat limited.
To clarrify, Disabled-runes.txt and the Bukkit Permissions nodes do not overlap. I would try writing it like "runecraft.runes.ice pick: true" but I cannot check in depth presently
@Sadorhael
Did you get to look into this?
@Sadorhael
The case of non-admin players not able to use runes seems to be a permission problem, since admins can use the runes OK. But I have added the runes to my config file of PermissionsBukkit and I am using a blacklist, not a whitelist. Still it won't work. Any ideas?
Here is an example of a rune from my permissions file:
runecraft.runes.icepick: true
Someone needs to make a region protection plugin based on truenames. Perhaps as an extension for Grief Prevention? That would finally make possible my ideal of the commandless server. : D
Edited: LOL sorry just woke up.....everything is good. Let's pretend I didn't ask a dumb question :P
@Mortalsinn
No problem! :D If you have other feature requests, bug reports, or little gripes, feel free to drop a ticket so I can keep track of the more complex problems ^_^ http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/runecraft/create-ticket/
Thank you so so so so much. This just saved me a a ton of time. I really appreciate this :)

@Mortalsinn
That's a good idea. There is a rough plan for me making some neat auto-generating web-page for all the runes, however that's quite far off. In the meanwhile I will update the "easy configuration" page with a list of all the runes, in the correct format for being read by that file.
How does that sound for an interim solution?
Can I make a suggestion that would make everyone's life easier. First of all, it's hard to find an exact current list of runes. I know there's the wiki but it's still frustrating going through the wiki and writing permission nodes for each name.
Here is what I am proposing. Why not have each rune listed in the config with an "Enable: True or False"
This way there is always the most current list in the config and then the people that have issues with permissions don't need to worry about the nodes.
What do you think?
@Ctri
As an admin, I can get the runes to work. It seems to be a permission error. One of my players got the message "The aether would not accept your icepick." But I do have the following line in my permissions config file (I use PermissionsBukkit, and it works fine on other plugins):
runecraft.runes.icepick: true
And in the disabled-runes.txt: "#whitelist"
So the whitelist shouldn't be enabled.
@Sadorhael
Are there any runes that are working properly, or are none of the Bukkit permissions registering properly? Will investigate this for you
I've installed Runecraft on my server, and as an admin it works nicely. However, my players are not allowed to use the runes. I have specified each rune I want to allow in the config file for PermissionsBukkit, and the players are members of the given group with permission. In the config file for Runecraft, I have not uncommented the "#whitelist", hence all runes not listed in the file should be enabled.
Any good ideas?
