Runecraft
Runecraft is a gameplay modification for SMP, that adds magic to the game without any commands. Runecraft is the longest running Minecraft mod, dating back to the Alpha days. Runecraft boasts over 120 runes and is still under active development. Everything you need in one, immersive, magic plugin.
Magic is done through the form of "runes", significant shapes of materials laid out in the actual game world. These runes can create unique short-term tool enchants, teleporters, hidden walls/passageways, and even the ability to create mobile teleporting bases.
- Player built simple Teleporters that use unique combinations of blocks to identify destinations
- Specific enchantments for dealing with natural hazards (lava, floods, falling gravel)
- Magic blocks that flip between two blocks when you activate them, or reveal secret passages
- Redstone compatibility: allowing runes to be activated by redstone signals
- Multi-world support: all features are completely compatible with multiple-world servers
- Commandless setup: Runecraft is designed for minimum hassle in configuring it. plugin and go!
- Easy configuration: it's simple to disable a rune entirely, or a rune per person.
- Optional permissions compatibility
- Requires no client modification
Runecraft prides itself on its immersive nature, with no need for any slash commands. Everything can be done in-game by players, constructing the runes to create the effects they're looking for. Runecraft is an extremely popular addon for roleplay, PVP, and small servers because of it's out of the box ability to just be installed and start running, and covering a variety of pseudo-administrative and gameplay mechanics from an entirely in game point of view.

Hey I am having an issue with the dev 33. Anyone know what this is about?
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Failed to remap class net.cerberusstudios.llama.runecraft.rct 5:03:30 PM CDT CONSOLE: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.cerberusstudios.llama.runecraft.RuneItem
can someone help... someone trapped a persons house with a lot of lightning damage traps, is there anyway to remove them? or even a ward to suppress them? (now making changes to the disabled runelist)
I don't know if the Runecraft Devteam needs to wait for CraftBukkit to update for 1.5.2 first... that would be actually good to know if a devteam always has to wait first for Bukkit..
@Ctri and @Der_Niabs >=p
(Then it would be easier for people to estimate how long it will approximately take for devteam to release updates in the future, more or less. - and of course real life work comes first!)
Hi. When will be updated?
@1cec0ld ahaha, no worries, really, I'm often tired and therefore sort of brain-dense in most of my online-time >xD So I can totally relate, because often I miss stuff, too. So, again, no worries, no patience that I would have needed for you >;)
Speaking of the MOR: Did you see C'tri's last video ? It is about that rune(s)!
*searches the link*
There you go >=)

Have fun!
@LapisDemon
Ok, I'm not blind, just illiterate. Completely skipped over the mention about it being on the 'building' subsite for some reason. However I did spot them now, and thank you for your patience with me on it.
Hy there 1cec0ld, I copy & paste from my former comment:
"Some of the new runes even haven't it made yet into one of C'tri's videos, for example the Master (and Anchor) of Reality / Reality Master (Anchor). That one is implemented in the wiki though already! (I just noticed it is only on the "Building" subsite, but NOT on the mainpage.. have to add that asap.)"
You have to click the "Building" subsite, I didn't have the time to do anything with the Wiki in the last months - alot of real life going on, plus busy in general }=/
The Siege Bow - have you seen C'tri's last videos ? - the rune can be seen a bit in his video, and he will make a real vid for the new runes soon. I cannot put anything in the Wiki of which I don't know things such as rune pattern, number of uses, "explosiveness" as per Tier, or whatever };)
So I have to wait myself for C'tri to make the video, and if there are questions left from my side, I will ask him and will add that to the Wiki.
Watch this video of C'tri:

Seeya, take care }=)
@LapisDemon
I'm not seeing anything about Reality or Anchor on the minecraftwiki page, am I really that blind? I've also been looking for the siege bow, but the wiki history shows nothing in the history except your ward grid, and the permissions edit.
@Der_Niabs I have run with only runecraft - so far so good except it does say 'The Aether cannot find your target'... but the tp works with no other plugins - I will work through my list and see what breaks - this is strange though as I've used runecraft since MC beta 1.6.6 and this is the first I've encountered this TP issue. If I find a plugin that breaks it I will let you know so you can keep it in mind for others.
I have done some further testing - Residence!!! This was the culprit plugin, for anyone with the same issue. I have residence locked down so you can't use teleport commands but the new symptoms is that ANY tp that terminates inside a res gets blocked. I also posted a ticket on the Res bukkitdev for anyone who wants a work around.
@Craig Yeah, I don't think that's us. We don't have an error message that looks like that. My guess is that you have another plugin listening for bukkit teleport events, and blocking them if your players aren't ops. Try looking at your other plugins to see if you can find the culprit. It's probably some admin plugin with a mis-configured setting.
(which actually indicates that the /res tp is doing something odd to cause a teleport. It not blocking /tp x,y,z also makes sense, as that's a command in vanilla MC, so it's possible it doesn't use bukkit at all.)
If you have the luxury, you can always start from scratch. Disable all your plugins, and put RC on first. Make sure it works (if it doesn't, maybe it's a problem with how your bukkit server is configured), then start layering on plugins until it breaks again.
I didn't want to create a ticket for this as I don't think it is actually a Runecraft problem, but was hoping someone might simply know a solution to a quirk I have... I didn't realise this issue at first as I default have ops... but when you try to use a teleport rune it says 'you do not have teleport access' right after saying 'teleporter used'. I don't think it is runecraft because I get the same response from the /spawn command... now here is the kicker... /res tp NAME works - and so does /tp x,y,z - so it does not appear to be a permission to the tp command. OPS players don't have this issue. I'm stumped and can find no other reference to this message on Google or anywhere.
@LapisDemon
Oh, thanks, didn't know. Good luck with all the wards XD.
Hi mm75, the Runecraft wiki in minecraftwiki.net is nearly up to date.
I only didn't add what did change in the changelog/version history, but most new runes as of 2.17 are added, with some exceptions. Some of the new runes even haven't it made yet into one of C'tri's videos, for example the Master (and Anchor) of Reality / Reality Master (Anchor). That one is implemented in the wiki though already! (I just noticed it is only on the "Building" subsite, but NOT on the mainpage.. have to add that asap.)
I still have to add the Wards, I've only made the template grid so far.
To be honest, I'm too busy to look inside C'tri's videos which rune has been implemented in which version of Runecraft - I don't want to write something wrong in the changelog.
But I can assure you that since 2.13 some users have added *most* of the new runes inside the Wiki. Even some 2.13 runes haven't been in the Wiki since quite some time until recently, but they are all covered now.
Runes that came after that and have been already added should be something like the Toggleblocks, the sticky redstone sensor, Lightning Trap, Counter-Curses, Master of Reality...
I have to ask Ctri whether or not I'm allowed to add the runes he didn't make a video yet to the wiki already.
I still have to add the wards (which will be a pain, for the effects overlap sometimes and confuse me totally), the Runic Radio, plus 2 additional runes from which I know they are implemented, but not officially recorded by C'tri yet.
I promise I will go through C'tri's old videos eventually and try to write a proper Version History, but I have alot of real life going on at the moment >;)
And I will add the other missing runes as soon as I talked with C'tri and I have time for that.
Regards, Meri
Hi Ctri/other runecrafters, is there a website where i can find how to build all the runes including the new ones added in 2.17 dev #25? I was using the minecraft wiki's runecraft page but the last version it has on the page is 2.13(Didn't realize until today so i am out of date with runecraft now :/). So where can i find how to build all the new runes/exact details about them?
@nlancaster212
glad to hear it was something simple!
NVM about my linux problem was my fault, somehow had 2 versions of the runecraft.jar file in the plugins folder.
Nick here, from PDXMC.com.
Getting ready to move over to a dedicated linux box, and Runecraft will not work on the machine for some reason. Any tips, or known bugs with 2.17#25 with linux?
Ubuntu 64bit 12.10 craftbukkit 1.5.1 R0.1
@Sadorhael
Checking the list of available versions on the right of the page, one can see what builds are available for what versions. For 1.4.7 there is 2.16 c For 1.5.1 there is a dev build of 2.17
@Ctri
Great, thanks! What Runecraft build do I need to make use of this? Is it now compatible with MC 1.5.1 (libigot)? And will it also be compatible with 1.4.7 (libigot)?
@praxitilies
thanks, fixed that :-)
