Residence 3
Planned feature list of Residence 3:
- Essentially a rewrite - the Bukkit API has changed over time and Residence has been "fixed" as necessary. It's time for a clean-up.
- Vault will be required and direct support of the various permission and economy plugins will be removed.
- Spout support will be stripped away, but if someone wants to make an add-on to provide Spout support, an API will be provided.
- The new code will be modular in design, and the modules will use the API provided to developers, providing a reference example.
- As hinted at, a new API for Residence will be provided though as much backwards compatibility as possible will be provided for the existing developers. It will also include JavaDocs, for an easy breakdown. This will be updated whenever a new jar is made.
- SQL support.
- Better permissions control.
- A full in-game command rewrite, that will overhaul the current configuration process.
Leave a post if you think something should be added. We continue to read these comments, but please try not to repeat posts.
Residence 3 has been scrapped, instead T00thpick1 has spent countless hours cleaning up the 2.x code and adapting a seperate version of Residence that will support mySQL solely, from then on we will continue to update both versions, Although the SQL version will have new features implemented in the future while the flatfile version will merely just be maintained as is.
I cant wait to see this plugin. If possible please include a way to use Polygon Selections like WorldEdit/Worldguard allow.
Also please try not to alter the flags as my users and I have become familiar with them all
Wau, MySQL support, it will be great! :) I cant wait to see!!
I agree with DJTomek, database support is the only thing holding res2 back
I do a simply php scripts (for example registration) so I can add selling residences ;)
Could you add different markets?
My suggestion would be an option for simpler commands. For example, a user can create a residence as normal, but then instead of having lots of flags, there are the default ones in the config. And to add a user to build in their residence, all they would have to do is /res add <name> <residence>. I think this would be much simpler for various users to work with.
Mhm, I would love MySQL support too. That way I can display player's residences online on a table.
Please add more Permission Node support than the other version of Residence ;).
need GUI
A detailed command list for all flags and options for the plugin that's easily found here on the dev page is all that I can really ask and of coarse don't throw out any of the features from the last version. I really hope this gets done soon as it is the most versatile protection plugin out there.
Would be nice if Residence get WorldGuard Support Because its a nice Plugins but i want to user WorldGuard to define the regions
Support to grow a residence by radius. Whole Chunk mode to claim entire chunk. Autowalk claiming (See Factions mod for example), leasing system with option to decay a residence claim areas (miss a payment and chunks are sold back to world to cover costs.)
@KyuubisSlave
You can type /res ? or /res flags ? for more info on the commands and flags.
@idgarad
The API "should" support that and would be a great addition to the plugin. It may not however make the cut to the "core" plugin.
ETA? I'm so stoked for this. :P
A nice thing to have in residence is sign based protection for residences and globally.
The reason for this is so that residence owners can place a sign above a container, door, brewing stand, etc. that has the following text:
This would then allow those 3 players access to the item in the residence without having to give those players full container/use access to the residence. Also it would be good if you could allow access to everyone for that one item, for example:
If this was to be included it would need to be so that only the residence owner can place [access] signs
Ok In addition to my previous post these are all my ideas and why:
Sign control.
A sign with [For Sale] on the first line and the price on the second will add the players name to the third line (if in an area) and players can buy that area.
@aubernet
Seems like you would like Lockette or Deadbolt.
How is development progressing for Residence 3? I must say I fairly excited and appreciate somebody doing this .. but also realise that it's summer and this might be your top priority.
Will there be a beta at some point for instance?
Again, thank you for doing this :-)
