Hello everybody,
This is Tobias aka Phoenix, the developer of this project. I am sad to inform you that RegionForSale, just like the Bukkit project, is pretty much dead nowadays. I do not like the fact that Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and, even though I respect the company, I cannot see how the spirit of Minecraft fits in there at all. Shame on you for selling, Notch! I do not care about the money involved. But this game, no matter how much profit it generates, belongs into the hands of loving, independent developers (Just like Bukkit – love you guys). My opinion. To be fair: My interest shifted in general as well. So overall, I am not willing to work on this project for free anymore.
Q: What about security updates / bugfixes?
A: I will do my best to still fix those and upload a new version for you. I do not want to let you down.
Q: Will you continue if I donate xx dollar?
A: Probably not. Please try to estimate the time I spend and apply a horrific minimal wage – I am sure you still do not want to pay that. Yes, it’s quite some time.
I still want to thank you very much for the few donations I received up to this point. Developing was fun and I was so very euphoric when I received my first donation. I still remember quite well. Not to forget about the many supportive comments and “thank you”s I received despite the money.
Sincerely,
Phoenix_IV

RegionForSale provides an automatic update checker to let you get informed as soon as a new version is available. If you do not want to use this feature you can set check_for_updates to false in the general.yml config file.
Todo
- Quick-set options on signs
- Give users, who rented a region, the possibility to buy it (without unrenting + possible rebuilding). The other way round would be retarded - Tell me if you don't think so.
- Auto-updater for minor updates (?)

Have been testing with 1.8 spigot today. Everything seems to be working, exept the signs. Signs don't work at all.
@aligc
Hm, as this problem just solved itself there is nothing I could help you with.
I guess your first paragraph is addressing the new WorldGuard version - not RegionForSale, right?
Hey i am using version 2.4 as my server has some issues with UUIDs (not sure whats wrong) nether the less, After a restart the owners arent being added to the regions automatically
I have tested and it seems i have to unrent the plot replace the sign and then re rent it for it to work...
Any ideas on why this is happening?
Edit: not sure what happened but i done some dicking around and it works again... Very confusing
@erdrickk
It's not broken. Please read the download page and update WorldGuard.
The latest version is broken as hell

When I create a [RentMarket] sign and right click a block with in the region it gives out that second error and the sign does not auto fill

Ticket 86 - Uuid 1.7.8+
Please take note that having no official UUID support yet does not affect the security / usability of the plugin in any way as long as name changing is not enabled by Mojang.
@JohOply
WG 6 only. I will add that information in the file info.
Hi !
RFS 2.5(.1) works only for WG 6 ? or WG 5 and 6 ?
@Bouger
Another plugin? Why another? ShowCaseStandallone is already supported. Okay - the recent version (697) is not compatible, but I just uploaded an update for that. Does that help?
You can make it compatible with another plugin like showcasestandlone? because showcasestandalone not have more updates.
@Phoenix_IV UPDATE Thanks again for the help. This was not a issue with the plugin. More of a issue of miss-reading the new WG protocol as well as spaces in my world name.
Note: If you have a world named "Awesome World" The plugin will not know what world you are looking for. It will assume you are trying to select a region named "Awesome" and not the rest of the world name.
Solution: Change every name in every config and file from "Awesome World" to "AwesomeWorld" with no spaces. This can take hours even days depend on how many plugins you have and the way the developers coded them. WG and RFS are very simple to Edit. Other plugins like essentials. You will have to open every single player file and change the world name.
Pain in the ass yes. Does it fix the issue? God dam right it does. Thank you again @Phoenix_IV for making time to clear up the issue.
Tip: All else fails start with a new map named "world" for testing. (I skipped that part.... )
OLD POST Next Time We Get Some Extra Funds They Will Go Your Way! Thanks For The Update! We Have A Issue Though. WG Has Changed The Way Regions Get Parented/Prioritized. I Will Msg You A Example Of What I Mean. I Made A Short Vidoe To Explain The What Seams To Be A Small Issues With Who Is Really In Charge Of The Region When Rented Or Sold Through RFS. An If I Dont Get Time To Link The Video. Please Test The Rg Add/DelMember Commands. The Seam To Not Work At All. It Ask For A World Name... Kinda Odd. Im Sure This Is Something You Just Over Looked. I Mean I Already Had It Loaded An Tested On My End. The Players Told Me Most Of The Small Issues So It Was A 25 Min Roll Back. Never Bad To Roll Back When Its Hours And Not Days. Again Thanks For The Work You And The One Who Helped Have Done.
No Rush On The Fixes Just Wanted To Report.
Hey all, sorry again for the long waiting times you are still experiencing - there are a lot of things happening in RL atm. An update for WorldGuard is waiting to be approved by the Bukkit team.
@zachrywilsn
ZachryWilsn, thank you very much for your message. I absolutely did not expect anything like this. Very nice words, not only for me but for all dev's coding in their free time. I would not even be mad if there would not be a donation coming up now.
@DarkShimy
We can only hope and thank you from the MC community!
"Besides that: Great news: I have decided to go open source as soon as I am in front of my keyboard again and probably also look out for a second developer to share the project with!"
Cheers, Phoenix_IV
@zachrywilsn
I won't donate but if the plugin becomes open source I'll be happy to share my fixes for the new WG.
@Phoenix_IV
I have a pretty nice Donations ready and waiting if this makes it to the new WE&WG. I know a lot of us use this. Its amazing. I also know about the DMCA take down. We need this community to stay strong and roll with the punches. I hope you are still in this with us. An as stated above I will put some of my own cash into the further development of this for the masses. I could have always PM'ed you about this but I would like others to maybe hop on the Support wagon with me.
Lets free this guy up some time with some donation money! It takes tome to code these things. If you have not already just YT some learn to java videos. These guys need some respect an they dont run like we servers do. We get to see donations every now and then. The developers are like are silent partners. Know one knows that they helped to make our servers what they are.
So I personally ask of you to make a post similar to mine saying that you will donate before or after a update. Lets get him something for this plugin. I mean how many issues have you really had with this? Odds are none at all. Its well built and seams to still be well maintained.
Thanks for reading. ZachryWilsn
@Phoenix_IV
Same here Can you please get us updated to WorldGaurd.
@Phoenix_IV
Good luck at home, also there is an spigot api up now so ya know ;)
@Phoenix_IV
Can you make it work for newest development version of WorldGuard? http://builds.enginehub.org/job/worldguard/6140
:P java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sk89q/worldguard/protection/databases/ProtectionDatabaseException
Hey all, I am sorry for letting you wait so very long. Have a look at this announcement for a little information: Announcement - Development currently paused
@DebraHere
Thank you for informing me about the inactive commands plugin from the forums. It was not obvious to me that it does not work as intended. Especially as it was questioned for this very purpose by a RegionForSale user.
@scuroK
List the nearest free regions:
//rg find
Teleport to a region:
//rg select [regionName]
//rg warp
(Works only if a warp point is defined for this region by an administrator)
Locate a region via your compass:
//rg locate [regionName]
@ShawnDaGeek
No, right now you can only connect signs by clicking the region. This can be improved, indeed. Your need was aknowledged.
@farkros
You have to set "unit-type" to "region" to disable any size-based price calculations. After that you can set absolute prices per region, using the command @raulpa mentioned.
@KoroEDM
Have a look at the WorldGuard wiki. In general you are not supposed to make use of the "build" flag at all, as it overrides all build-permissions. Just creating an empty region without any flags already prevents regular players from building there.
RegionForSale already adjusts the priorities of parent-regions automatically. But for that the region has to be added as parent-region to RegionForSale.
There is another reply for you further down.
@UnknowingTea
You can kick a player out of a region using
//rg set owner
(no player argument). But this will not trigger a refund (No money is given like when selling the region).A command that also provides refund is on my todo-list.
@KoroEDM
The lease only runs out if the player has chosen to rent the region only for a period of time or the time is restricted by you / an administrator. If you simply
//rg rent
it it just means that you will have to pay the rent after the x days again - so the player will not lose his region as long as he has enough money.If a region is only rented for a restricted amount of time you can extend it using
//rg rent
again.@Syhedghog
I am sorry for the time you lost. You may create a ticket for this. But I've heard about this problem before and up to now it has always been another's plugin fault or the Server version was incompatible. Make sure that the problem also occurs if you use nothing else but CraftBukkit (no mod) and if only the minimum amount of plugins is running.
@johandre
Your requests are already on my list. It will need some time. See the notification on top of the page.
@zachrywilsn: RegionForSale will still work fine even if the UUID system is officially introduced. More time will pass until players are actually able to change their names.
Minecraft 1.8 Will be realesed at any time now
