RedstoneCommandSigns
This plugin addresses a common request from people using SimpleCommandSigns. Redstone can now trigger commandsigns.
Features:
- SimpleCommandSigns or HiddenCommandSigns can be converted into RedstoneCommandSigns.
- RedstoneCommandSigns run command(s) upon being powered by redstone.
- No configuration necessary.
- Permissions (Permissions 2.x, 3.x, and Bukkit SuperPerms support)
How-To:
- Create a simplecommandsign.
- Type: /rcs
- Left click the simplecommandsign. (First line changes from green to red)
- When the sign is powered, the command will run.
Command:
- /rcs - Create a redstonecommandsign.
Permission node:
- rcs.create: Can create a redstone command sign.
Why is this a separate plugin?:
- Redstone is not a player. Thus permissions cannot be checked on commandsign trigger.
- Command sequences are handled by HiddenCommandSigns.
- SimpleCommandSigns was made to be as lightweight as possible.
- This plugin runs in parallel to the other plugins.
Notes:
- Because the player who triggers the sign is never identified, the %p identifier that was available in SimpleCommandSigns and HiddenCommandSigns will not work.
- Commands are run as the console. Be conscious about what command you have them run.
- Any permissions added to a HiddenCommandSign will be completely ignored by a RedstoneCommandSign.
@offroadguy56
I've actually seen this issue before O.O
Hadn't figured out how to fix it yet though...
I'm getting a problem where the plugin executes the command twice.
i setup a simple /say command to test the plugin. and when i power the sign with redstone and a torch. it executes the command when it turns on. and then executes the command again when it's turned off.
@kiptacula
It should be able to run any built-in Bukkit command.
You may need to PM me regarding what you're trying to do with the warp thing. I do believe it is completely possible to have the command signs move-able, but I'm not sure as to what umm.. What you're trying to have moving O.O
@Devil_Boy
Actually I just got a simple /say hello to work. So I think that the plug in I'm trying to call must run as a player, which seems to be the issue with my use of it. The error I found was: 2012-09-12 20:46:25 [INFO] Too little arguments. [m 2012-09-12 20:46:25 [INFO] Usage: /day [World] [-l] [m
After powering a sign.
Tried to add the syntax for the my world but it would take "the world"
So since the sign can only run commands as the console...what can I do with it except run things like /say and /toggledownfall or /save-all?
I'm using the SCS with HCS to set a warp area on a moving set of blocks at the moment. I'm trying to automate this process to run every x amount of seconds. Perhaps a different warp plugin?
Thanks for all your work on this plugin, it is very much appreciated. I will be donating to your project.
@kiptacula
Any error logs in the console?
Trying to run on CB 1.31. RO1, no luck. Please update! Really nice work on Simple and Hidden Signs..they both work great on my server.
@CodeBlow
I don't really know of any plugins that do that O.o
Hey, will this plugin let me change what the sign says when it's powered by redstone? If not does anyone know where I can find a mod like this?
@NikoKun
All commands run as console :/
I don't think that will be changed.
I think one of the other devs was supposed to make it not break the block your left-clicked....
Love this plugin, at least until the next update when they introduce Commandblocks! (Who knows how long that will be.lol)
Only problem I've noticed is that when you're in creative mode, you can't left-click the sign to change it to a RCS, since that just breaks the sign. Might wanna find a better way to do it. Maybe if you right click the sign, or right click while holding redstone dust, and skip that /rcs command all together.
Also, I've noticed that "/say" commands run via redstone, say things as if it were the console admin's name, and it might be a good idea to create some other unique identification for that.
@Glyth84
Fill out a support ticket.
Give us any console error output. You may want to experiment with the signs by changing their commands to /say "Something"
And make sure that these commands can all be run from the console.
BTW, you could just have all the commands on one sign if you turned it into a HiddenCommandSign before turning it into a RedstoneCommandSign O.o
Devil_Boy and associates... This plugin is flat out not working. Here is what I am trying to do. 3 signs on switch with delayed repeaters. First sign <region select> Second sign <set region to X%X,X%X,X%X> Third sign <unselect region>..... Each sign is powered by redstone with delayed repeaters so each sign is powered in the order it needs to be. After the power hits the third sign it dies out and is no longer powered. Now, these signs all work as SCS signs but no longer work once converted to RCS. So someone please either explain what I am doing wrong, or please update your plugin because this is an amazing concept and I would really like to use it.
i have this mod on my server... but the only problem i have with it is that anyone who knew it existed could op themselves. thus i haven't told anyone we got the plugin. i don't think there is any way to fix this, is there? D:
nevermind, they have to have access to /rcs. thank you!
@dennisvb123
This isn't possible with this plugin, but I know there are others that do what you want.
@Experte
What part is broken?
Hey! I am looking for a plugin that powers redstone on a event or command, is that possible? Thanks!
Can you update it?
@Tux2
http://pastebin.com/8MbeDD52 and the command will be led twice when trigger redstone. matter on or off.
@Arendt1994
Do you have a pastebin of the errors? Your error report is too vague. As such we probably won't fix it.
@Devil_Boy
console give me many errors please update.
