Random Crates
Random Crates allows for privileged users to give Mystery Crates which will provide the user of it a random item based off of a list of items provided by the Server Operator.
Command
- /crate give <player> <amount>
- Gives <player> a Mystery Crate. If <player> is not specified, the command user will be given a crate. If <amount> is not specified, the user will get 1 crate.
- Restricted to users with the RandomCrate.crate permission (default: op)
Permissions
- RandomCrate.crate
- Allows users to use the /crate give command. (default: op)
Usage
To open the Mystery Crate, just click with it equipped. It will open and a random item will be granted from the list of items provided by the Server Operator.
Installation and Configuration
To install Random Crates
- Download the .jar file
- Place the jar file in your "plugins" folder
- Start or reload your server. This will create a "RandomCrate" folder in your plugins folder. This folder will also contain a default items list.
- Success!
To configure Random Crates
- Open the "RandomCrate" folder inside your plugins folder and open the "config.yml" file.
- Read the comments in the file and fill in the items appropriately. For an example, check out the default config file on GitHub.
Bugs
This plugin is still considered to be in beta due to lack of extensive testing, however it seems to work well. If you come across a bug, please submit a ticket here.

Posted Jul 3, 2014Hi, I currently have a sign that "sells" random crates to a player that is run through a command when activated. (In game currency). When this happens, the crate is added to the players inventory but does not show unless I log out and back in again, even when i right click where the chest would be in the inventory slot it opens the crate. People think they are being had off by using their in game money when in fact the chest icon does not appear. I'm linking this with the CommandSigns plugin which runs the command /crate give <name> 1 when activated. I unsure if you would know why this is happening but I would relaly appreciate it if you could take a minute or two to look into it? Thanks! =]

Posted May 20, 2014I was chatting with tehTyA asking if he could add the enchantments you asked for, and also a little bit extra. However while he was working on these he suddently went offline and did not respond. It has been a month now.
I am curious if someone else could take over the plugin and add the missing parts. He already has open source on Github and I created a few commits. It could be very helpful to have this going for my server :)

I agree with you. This is a good plugin, but I would like to be able to run commands (such as /eco give) and to know what was actually given in the crate would also be nice. Hopefully we will see that in the next update.

Greetings. Is it possible to add a command as the reward for a crate? This would increase the configuration of the plugin immensely. I like the way things are set up here :)
Most servers have an actual plugin that can create an item as well (essentials or commandbook) with specific lores/items too. So having a command be run is the most preferred way to reward a player, imo.
It would also be nice to have a config option to announce what you got from the crate, something like "on-gain: You received 3 Holy Stones!" - I found testing this plugin I didnt know what I just received.
Also - is there a way to not hardcode rarities? some people may want to add more or less here.

Posted Apr 19, 2014Will you enchant this plugin? The idea is very nice, I could send players crates as gifts from events or they could buy it via real money.
It has couple of stuff missing:
-Config for messages
-Config for the crate name and lore
-Config to crate to different crates which give diff items, (1 normal, 1 rare, 1 super rare ect.)
-Items should have an amount, say 5 diamond
-I will increase the probiblity of some items by adding them twice, is this possible?
