Races
The Races plugin adds races of beings to Minecraft! Players can build altars and sacrifice materials to switch between the available classes. Players may also inter-breed through the use of 'Race Potions'! Currently Races is in an experimental stage, meaning I have yet to add certain features. The plugin may contain errors, and may not currently be running as efficiently as possible. I am also very open to any ideas the community has!
Current Recommended Version: 1.1.3b1*
Please note that using the "/reload" command will cause errors without relogging.
It is not required to use Vault, but it is highly recommended, as use with Vault support has been confirmed to have few to no bugs.
Features
- Altars!
- Full customization!
- Experience system!
- Level system!
- Powers!
- Chat Prefixes(Vault)!
The Basics
Races is an aspiring attempt to add role-playing features by giving players races, levels, and the ability to build altars, rank up and gain experience. The old Races plugin used powers built into the plugin things such as "Speed-<amplifier>" and "FireResistance-0". In an attempt to offload work for me and to make the plugin more of a wrapper and less of a RAM consuming monster, powers have been turned over to permissions! Powers are derived from any plugin that has a permission for a certain function. For example: a race could contain a power using the permission "essentials.fireball", and everyone in that race with the right level will have the permission "essentials.fireball" otherwise, the permission will not be given to a player.

I'm aware of the issue with the blindness arrow. Thanks for the power suggestion, but I plan on replacing regular powers with permissions, so you can use any plugin for your power needs!
Great plugin! We're working on many diferent races and one of them got:
but blindness is not triggerd.
And a request for the next version: also an arrow which can trigger the confusion effect.
Click Pages > Setting Up Races.
@savagesun
how do you create a Race, and an alter?
extremely minor side-note: On the console when its loading, it says Races 0.7, not 0.7.6.
@Secretbryan23
That is indeed a plugin error. I'll fix it when I get my laptop back.
When I try to use a command block to set someones race I get this error. I dont know if its the plugin or bukkit. http://pastebin.com/ZLdiWmfk
@Dilski
Interesting. I'll look into it when my laptop is fixed, it sounds like a good idea to me.
Could you look into permission perks?
For example, if you choose say, the nether race, you would get "essentials.fireball" permission .
@crohakon
It is in an XML format, hence the XML extension.
Edit: also I will certainly look into adding SQL support!
So why use .xml for config but not actually use xml format?
@ramius86
Did you remove the <warp> tag, or at did you add tildes to the warp information? Without doing either of those you will get an error.
@Secretbryan23
The <exp> tag is a required tag.
Any chance you could replace the config flat file with the ability to store races and player data in a MySQL database? This way web based interfaces can be created.
http://pastebin.com/iQMKqkWA First time, use standard config and example races... :-/
Hey I keep getting this error when trying to load up the plugin error: http://pastebin.com/LATPPwkR
Here is my config: http://pastebin.com/8tZXrJ0Y
Awesome, thanks!
@Conyers
Your issue should be fixed in 0.7.6
I checked, all my races are set up properly. It sounds like it has an issue passing player deaths through the plugin. Sure enough when some players die their racial abilities start counting down and end. Here's the most recent error: http://pastebin.com/XAWR1CUt
Keep in mind my console should be read from the bottom to the top. Thanks for the time!
I need more negative effects :D
And what about just a reduction of fire damage, is that possible?
