Races
The Races plugin adds races of beings to Minecraft! Players can build altars and sacrifice materials to switch between the available classes. Players may also inter-breed through the use of 'Race Potions'! Currently Races is in an experimental stage, meaning I have yet to add certain features. The plugin may contain errors, and may not currently be running as efficiently as possible. I am also very open to any ideas the community has!
Current Recommended Version: 1.1.3b1*
Please note that using the "/reload" command will cause errors without relogging.
It is not required to use Vault, but it is highly recommended, as use with Vault support has been confirmed to have few to no bugs.
Features
- Altars!
- Full customization!
- Experience system!
- Level system!
- Powers!
- Chat Prefixes(Vault)!
The Basics
Races is an aspiring attempt to add role-playing features by giving players races, levels, and the ability to build altars, rank up and gain experience. The old Races plugin used powers built into the plugin things such as "Speed-<amplifier>" and "FireResistance-0". In an attempt to offload work for me and to make the plugin more of a wrapper and less of a RAM consuming monster, powers have been turned over to permissions! Powers are derived from any plugin that has a permission for a certain function. For example: a race could contain a power using the permission "essentials.fireball", and everyone in that race with the right level will have the permission "essentials.fireball" otherwise, the permission will not be given to a player.

Is it normal for races to break when I install mobs or magicspells? also getting: [WARNING] [Races] Task #11 for Races v1.1.2b46 generated an exception
Could you make it so that you can let the server execute a command when someone joins a race? I want to make permissions groups for each race, and have them added to it automatically when they join a race. Other than that: Great plugin! Ilove how customizable it is! Edit: Could you also add the permissions to deny people from using certain altars? I don't want my players to switch after choosing a race.
I have discovered a bug. When a player uses a nether portal and arrives in the nether, race powers are not registered, however after they relog the powers are registered again. The powers are also registered after the player goes back to the default world.
Support for this plugin is fucked.
@savagesun
Oh oke thanks man then i have to find another item haha. Also, do you have some advice on good plugins for those powers? Some recommended plugins? I really hope you can tell me some which work perfectly!
@TheDavroar
Unfortunately, races doesn't support sub-ids. So you can only identify wool, not a particular color.
How to identify green wol in an altar? this is my altar config atm;
<altar msg="You have now become an Elf!" warp="false" x="0" y="0" z="0" w="world"> <blocks radii="3"> <block id="49" click="false" amount="2"/> <block id="35;5" click="true" amount="1"/> </blocks> </altar>
@HVincentM
Btw u might need to remove the <item> till the </item> part.. let me know if its fixed please!
Does any know if this version also works on 1.5?
@HVincentM What does the [Value] stand for? The level?
Okay a couple of things...
/races set [race] [player] [value] doesnt work. I keep getting "[player] does not exist!" In console it says the same thing but before it, it says that the races of the player was set.
I also tried /races who and it said "Whoops! It appears that you dont exist ..."
My altars dont seem to work. For one race (Nord) I used two snow blocks stacked on top of one sponge. Left clicking, right clicking, shift clicking... they dont work.
Here is an exact copy of my "Nord" race.
<cfg>
<race name="Nord" color="YELLOW" special="false">
<level id="0" exp="45">
</level>
<level id="1" exp="70">
</level>
<level id="2" exp="-1">
</level>
</race>
<altar msg="You are now a Nord!" warp="false" x="0" y="0" z="0" w="world">
<blocks radii="3">
<block id="80" click="true" amount="2" />
<block id="19" click="false" amount="1" />
</blocks>
<items>
<item id="0" amount="1"/>
</items>
</altar>
</cfg>
Did I do something wrong?
The /races set <race> doesnt work.. (example; /races set Human)
Does anyone know how to fix this? What is the right permission node, cuz - 'Races.setRace' Doesn't seem to work..
I am using GroupManager.
@iPadHD
I am finding it out myself too man.. sorry
i was wondering if the leveling is limited to killing mobs/players and time. or can it be from planting seeds or building or something to that nature. a better text document with what can be done in the xml files would be great. you have an example, but it seems limited to what the races can do. it also seems like you cant have certain abilities from the start; like higher jumps, or immunity to lava, or truce with mobs. if these are possible, than explain how to do them or something like that.
@TheDavroar
Set up mine!
"Can someone pre set this up for me?
Hobbits - Ability to use stealth (Invisible while crouching for 15 seconds) - Increased damage when using Daggers (may require various other mods)
Dwarves - More Strengh - Slower - Ability to repair armor/Weapons using less resources
Elves - Move Faster - Better Agility - Able to jump two Blocks - Can Shoot Straighter And Faster (Dealing More Damage)
Humans - Ability to tame Wolves and other Animals, Farming and Mining increased.
Orcs - More Strengh - Slower
Goblins - Gain health after killing a Mob (carnivore ability)"
@ccsoxos
Maybe a late reactie man.. but do all those powers have an own permission node? or how does it work to set them up With the races??
What about making a wiki or example text document with all the possibilities? Cuz this really freaks me out..
This plugin is awesome but that makes it even better!

Is there a way to make it so that players can only select a race once, if they have the command to set their race?
Can you please make a example somewhere of how to create a race some damage benefits or one that gets less damage?
Examples: Wood Elf's do 15% more damage with bows. Dark Elf's take 15% less damage from bow attacks.
Thanks man!
I've given my staff races.*, but they can't use /races help!
