Look in the races.yml file. It's an option there. You can also use the command "/rt toggle horse".

To your first question: I was putting that off until later because people can use multiverse and other inventory plugins to solve that problem.

To your second question: I'm confused. When players join, it should spawn them on a horse if and ONLY if you set a spawn and free horse is set to true. Set the race spawn with "/rt set spawn".

Okay quick question: What should the text format look like on the sign? Should it have colors? Post an example please.

I just uploaded a quick fix version that kicks players from the race if they try to leave the horse. It's the best I can do at the moment sorry. Bukkit won't allow for much more anyway. Things will be better when I finish my Horse RPG plugin which will allow for proprietary horses!

I've been extremely busy lately and haven't had a lot of time to make a tutorial. I was hoping one of my users would before I had to. Anyway, I'll try to briefly explain it again.

First, download and install the plugin like normal (if updating, remove the original Race Tournaments folder with config file stuff).

Second, start your server and make sure it doesn't log errors in the console. If all is good, get the race-line-tool from the config file (which should be a GOLDEN PICKAXE [id 285] unless you changed it).

Now left click a block to set 1st corner of the start line area. It may ask you to create a race first so just type "/rt create [name]". Right click the 2nd corner like with World Edit to complete the start line region. Type "/rt set start" to finalize the start area.

Do the same for the finish line area, but MAKE SURE the finish line area has trip wire connected to the holder thingies so it can be activated. Type "/rt set finish" instead of "/rt set start" to finalize the region.

Lastly, set a spawn if you'd like with "/rt set spawn" (sets at your location) and have users type "/rt join" to join the race.

To manually start race, type "/rt start [race name]" which starts the default race UNLESS you are in a different race.

Thanks for the long comment explaining some issues. I'll try to respond as well as I can.

First off, I am working on a proprietary horse plugin which would mean players would have their own set of horses that they could race. That will solve the free horse issue and the leather/saddle farming issue.

Second, you CAN specify the start gate height last time I checked. Same with finish line. All you do is select the CORNERS like with world edit (you can make the starting line a cube or whatever you want).

Third, there is an automatic end feature that ends the race after your specified time. I thought it was self-explanatory but I might make a tutorial later.

Finally, at the moment I intended users would use Multiverse or region plugins to create custom race worlds/regions. This would solve the horse farming, teleporting, etc.

No you need to type "/rt set finish" or "/rt set start" to set the finish and start lines respectively. I'll add that to the instructions.

Currently there is no spawn feature for pigs. I assumed most people just wanted horses. I could add a feature for spawning on pigs if you'd like. Otherwise, pigs work the same as horses when you cross the finish line.
