IMPORTANT: Spigot Builds > #1521 currently have a bug which corrupts PortableHorses! Do *NOT* Use this plugin with spigot > build #1521
Portable Horses allows for players to store their steeds in their inventory. By removing the saddle from a horse or donkey, the animal will vanish, safely stored inside the saddle itself. by clicking the saddle on the ground again, the horse will respawn ready to ride exactly as you left it.
You could even store a donkey in a saddle in a donkey in a saddle (donkey-ception?)
NOTE: This plugin requires ProtocolLib
Features
- Pickup/Spawn your horse anytime / anywhere just by saddling it.
- Option to store (or drop) Horses armor, and donkey's inventory.
- Horse details are displayed on the saddle's lore for easy identification.
- NO DATABASE - All data is stored in the saddle. There is no database or flatfile to worry about.
- Can optionally require a special 'portable horse' saddle in order to function. Normal saddles will work as they used to.

Commands
All commands are under the main /portablehorses
or /ph
command
/portablehorses reloadconfig
- reloads the config file.
Permissions
- portablehorses.saddle: allows players to save a horse to a saddle.
- portablehorses.unsaddle: allows players to remove a saddle (picking up the horse).
- portablehorses.spawn: allows players to spawn their horses
- portablehorses.admin: allows the 'reloadconfig' command.

Auto Updater
This plugin has a built-in auto-updater, which connects to BukkitDev to check for updates. If you, for some reason, wish to disable this process, you can do so by setting 'auto-update' to 'false' or 'notify-only' in the plugins' settings file.

Thanks. We've decided to temporarily disable the plugin until you've come out with a fix. Players arent happy about it but they understand why.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've managed to reproduce the issue, but no fix just yet, so I'm deleting your post while I work on it, just to keep it from being abused while I work on the solution. It's a bit tricky but shouldn't be too hard to solve.

I've never heard that before. If you can find out how it's done I'll look at patching it, but I have no idea how it would be accomplished.
I'm not sure how or about the procedure for this, but according to one of my mods, it is possible to dupe a portable horse saddle via a donkey with a chest on it.

It would require storing and tracking too much data, PortableHorses doesn't even have or use any sort of database to hold this kind of data, and I don't want to introduce that requirement.

Can the config and or "Recipe Extra Item" be explained somewhere?
could you try to make this feature I know that's, as far as I know, almost impossible to control how many horses a player have with this plugin, but I think that's possible to control how many spawned horses a player have sry for my bad english, please try to add this feature, your plugin is awesome
Just a few reminders:
1) Portable Horses relies on craftbukkit and nms internals. It WILL break with each craftbukkit update. please do not post bugs about it. (a new version has just been uploaded with support for 1.7.8 and 1.7.9)
2) Please do not post bugs in the coments here. there's a 'tickets' tab at the top of the page for that.
3) "No work" is not valid feedback, or an acceptable bug report.

My build server is temporarily offline, there are no recent dev builds for portablehorses though. what's here is the most recent. I'll have a 1.7.8 build this weekend

There are already 2 config settings designed to avoid the extra storage space. 'store-inventory' and 'store-armor' when these are set to false, the horse/donkey will drop it's inventory and/or armor before it goes into the saddle.
I recommend adding a permissions or something in the config to disallow donkeys. People can store lots of stuff in a donkey's chest then basically compress their inventory into a saddle.
