PortableHorses

IMPORTANT: Spigot Builds > #1521 currently have a bug which corrupts PortableHorses! Do *NOT* Use this plugin with spigot > build #1521
Portable Horses allows for players to store their steeds in their inventory. By removing the saddle from a horse or donkey, the animal will vanish, safely stored inside the saddle itself. by clicking the saddle on the ground again, the horse will respawn ready to ride exactly as you left it.
You could even store a donkey in a saddle in a donkey in a saddle (donkey-ception?)
NOTE: This plugin requires ProtocolLib
Features
- Pickup/Spawn your horse anytime / anywhere just by saddling it.
- Option to store (or drop) Horses armor, and donkey's inventory.
- Horse details are displayed on the saddle's lore for easy identification.
- NO DATABASE - All data is stored in the saddle. There is no database or flatfile to worry about.
- Can optionally require a special 'portable horse' saddle in order to function. Normal saddles will work as they used to.

@metalhedd
Actually I've fixed it (I think). The latest dev build has the fix.
@Kane_Hart
Thanks, it should be harmless as long as you're not using villagers to trade portablehorses with some sort of custom plugin. The problem appears to be either a protocollib issue or a change in the structure of the packet which includes villager trades. I've filed a ticket with protocolLib to help sort it out. stay tuned.
Getting some kind of crazy spam: http://pastebin.com/8Tv33mKs
@GumbyDammit
It's probably my fault, but I'm not sure how to avoid those warnings yet, It doesn't affect the functionality of the plugin though.
@metalhedd
I keep getting this and don't know if it's PH or ProtocolLib:
@chasertw123
There is a development build available now that should when protocolLib fixes an issue with the latest snapshots. When that happens I'll have a bukkitdev release ASAP, but until then, I do NOT recommend using the dev build for anything but test servers. You're likely to lose your portable horses if you use it with the current protocollib builds.
Can you give the world a some what close date to when you will be releasing a dev build?
@DanielBlakey
Thanks for the heads up, I didn't realize a protocol lib dev build was out already! I'll get to work on it now.
Any news on any progress of an update for this with the dev build of protocollib 3.0.0 out?
@DivinityCraft
That doesn't really go with the theme of the plugin, and I like to keep my plugins focused on doing one specific thing very well. There are lots of other horse-related plugins that can probably modify their health, and they should work fine with portable horses too.
Genius! :O
Great plugin. Could you add a config option to give all horses a certain amount of bonus health? The portability this plugin gives is a great step in direction of making horses useful but them being so frail also needs to be solved.
@cam13619
They're permanently bound, but you're the 2nd person to mention it, so I have been trying to come up with a nice way to implement it, but there doesn't seem to be a simple intuitive way to do it. There's a little bit of discussion here if you'd like to contribute ideas: https://github.com/andrepl/PortableHorses/issues/12
Hi!
Very nice plugin. Is there a way to seperate the saddle from the horse, or are they permanantly bound?
My players and I love this plugin. Thank you!
@KeithSt0ne
That build is only for 1.6.2. there's a development build compiled for 1.6.4, and I'm working on a universal build next.
I'm getting this error in the server.log file
[SEVERE] [PortableHorses] Plugin PortableHorses v0.1.14 has failed to register events for class com.norcode.bukkit.portablehorses.PortableHorses because net/minecraft/server/v1_6_R2/NBTTagCompound does not exist.
@Kino876
Kino - Thanks for catching that, it looks like I uploaded the 1.6.4 build instead of 1.6.2. I'll recompile and upload a new build right now. for anyone using 1.6.4 the development builds are built for it.
Portable Horses v0.1.13 doesn't work for me
[PortableHorses] Plugin PortableHorses v0.1.13-SNAPSHOT has failed to register events for class com.norcode.bukkit.portablehorses.PortableHorses because net/minecraft/server/v1_6_R3/NBTTagCompound does not exist.
