OtherDrops
Make anything drop anything, anyhow!
Minecraft 1.7 features (click)!!
OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.
Thanks
Many thanks to these people who helped with OtherDrops:
- Cyklo: creator of the original OtherBlocks. OtherDrops is a continuation of Cyklo's original OtherBlocks (2011) plugin.
- Celtic Minstrel: many code commits and a major overhaul of the code moving into version 2.0. Moved on to create DropFactory.
- Rofang: major update of OtherDrops documentation.
- RugRats13: lots of testing and some documentation.
- Faldonboy & Steelsouls: currently maintaining and improving the documentation.
- CommodoreAlpha: community support on the comments/forum, assisting with documentation.
Many long nights are spent improving OtherDrops so if you like it please consider a donation to my coffee fund :)
- OtherDrops uses Metrics for anonymous usage stats (learn more).
@Celtic_Minstrel
any word on an update? Done with finals?
Thx for the replies.
I couldnt change the drops the explosion event made. I have a solid sphere of glowstone, and with this config:
When the explosion took place, it took out some nearby glowstone and did not drop wool. But glowstone. I changed the tool and tried with all ur suggestions. No luck. This is on version 2 beta 8.
I know the dev for this is busy at the the moment, so that's why it hasn't been updated. Anyone have any alternative suggestions to fill the gap until this gets updated?
@po5
I think you should be able to use EXPLOSION, EXPLOSION_TNT, EXPLOSION_FIREBALL, EXPLOSION_CREEPER as tools, but I haven't tried it yet. Failing that you could try what RealityIntern posted.
@po5 Try these tools:
DAMAGE_BLOCK_EXPLOSION death by block explosion (i.e. TNT) DAMAGE_ENTITY_EXPLOSION death by non-block entity explosion (i.e. creeper)
Hey. Is there any way i can adjust what kind of drops the explosion event creates? It seems to just make the blocks it destroys drop its vanilla conent
OK, I thoguht I'd tried every permutation for Leaf_Decay, but I obviously hadn't tried this one, because it works fine. By the way, the 100% for apple drop was only for testing to see if things worked - way too many apples dropping with that percentage. Anyway, thanks again for the advice - much appreciated.
@MageRooster
The PLAYER_INTERACT_ENTITY bug is known, thanks. :)
@Zidkon
Yes, it can override default drops.
@iceT2
SPECIAL_LEAFDECAY may have been unintentionally broken at some point (I do intend to fix it for backwards compatibility though). However, the new way of doing it should work:
@alexander_gq
Define "no longer works"; do you just not get the drop, or only get it sometimes, or do you get an error in the console when a zombie pigman dies?
Running ver 2.0 beta 8 with latest RB. Old custom include file no longer works:
Hi I'm having a problem whilst testing out your ver 2.0 beta 8 version I can't get the leaf decay to drop an apple. Can anyone assist please ? Here's what I'm putting into my config : SPECIAL_LEAFDECAY@BIRCH: - drop: APPLE chance: 100%
In ver 2.0 beta 6, I didn't have to put the '@BIRCH' in and this worked fine, but now, if I don't put that in, the config errors when loading. So, for example, if I put in : SPECIAL_LEAFDECAY: - drop: APPLE chance: 100% .... the config won't load at all. ?? Very confusing, but I've tried several permutations without success - any help greatly appreciated.
So glad this plugin still works. They day it doesent, it will be a step back for minecraft multiplayer
This shows up whenever i try to load the plugin... Im using CB 1.0.1 R1
Any ideas what is wrong or how to fix it?
Nice plugin (remember it as OtherBlocks), but last beta is very buggy. Does anyone test - how otherblocks 1.96 works with craftbukkit 1.0.0-R1? May be it better to use old stable until stable OtherDrops released...
Aye, quite a lot of tickets with bugs open, such an awesome plugin though, hoping for fixes!
Also pleeeeeeeeeeease update for Recommended Bukkit :) Would be awesome if you could do as soon as possible.
[OtherDrops:2.0-beta8-prerelease] Error: unknown entity target (CraftEnderDragonPart) - please let the developer know.
Now you know :D I want my EnderDragons not only drop Exp!
Does this plugin blocks mobs when die to drop the "default" drop of minecraft and override the drop with the one itself is configured for?
Is it known that using a command with consumetool , won't actually consume the tool? This is with Beta 8 and #1550 iirc. Thanks alot.
Hi. I'm seeing a PLAYER_INTERACT_ENTITY error whenever someone kills an Ender Dragon. I'm pretty sure it just doesn't understand what an ender dragon is at present.

The second one may be impossible, though if it's possible we'll certainly try to do it.
