OtherDrops
Make anything drop anything, anyhow!
Minecraft 1.7 features (click)!!
OtherDrops allows you to add anything from a simple "glass drops glass" or mob rewards, to a complex overhaul of your servers drops with drops differing depending on tools, biome, time, weather and much more, along with custom messages, actions and commands.
OtherDrops is lightweight* (it only acts on what you configure) and respects most protection plugins (eg. WorldGuard, Regios) settings. Many examples are included that you can enable and/or customize as you wish.

Help Wanted
Would you like to help improve OtherDrops? Here are some ways to get involved:
- Media/art: OtherDrops could really do with some tutorial and example videos.
- Testers: Testers who are able to go through the plugin and rigorously check that things (both existing and new features) work as they should. PM Zarius your Skype (or other IM) details if you're interested or jump on the IRC channel.
- Programming: any assistance is welcomed - see the todo list here for some ideas. Anyone with refactoring and/or automated testing experience that wants to assist would be great.
Thanks
Many thanks to these people who helped with OtherDrops:
- Cyklo: creator of the original OtherBlocks. OtherDrops is a continuation of Cyklo's original OtherBlocks (2011) plugin.
- Celtic Minstrel: many code commits and a major overhaul of the code moving into version 2.0. Moved on to create DropFactory.
- Rofang: major update of OtherDrops documentation.
- RugRats13: lots of testing and some documentation.
- Faldonboy & Steelsouls: currently maintaining and improving the documentation.
- CommodoreAlpha: community support on the comments/forum, assisting with documentation.
Many long nights are spent improving OtherDrops so if you like it please consider a donation to my coffee fund :)
- OtherDrops uses Metrics for anonymous usage stats (learn more).
@Celtic_Minstrel
Hmm - has that flag gotten lost? I couldn't find it in the Beta 6 code or even in the latest code.
@Joymo
Just checked, and IN_MOB_ARENA is definitely the correct flag. Assuming your verbosity setting is normal, do you get an "Invalid flag" error? If so, that would indicate that the issue is with OtherDrops detecting MobArena; if not, the issue is in the flag itself.
Hmm well testing right now on Beta 6, using:
flags: IN_MOB_ARENA
Is not dropping anything :/
@Joymo
I believe it's "flag: IN_MOB_ARENA"; if I'm wrong, it'll probably give you the correct version on startup. I think it's in beta6 as well.
Ahh much love <3
@Joymo
There should be a flag in the next version of OtherDrops that will allow specific drops to be set to drop in the mob arena.
How do I make it so ODR works inside Mob Arena? You have some sort of feature that blocks drops inside Arena, but I want to add drops there. You fixed this in OtherBlocks, but now it seems to be gone again :S
ah okay, might be towny then because they force you to have the register.jar in the plugin folder.. oh well skipping money drop then, not that important.
@Divis
doesn't seem to be an issue with OtherDrops, I do use Register but I rename the class. unfortunately if you don't rename it, and it seems the money-drop has not, then it can clash with another plugin using register that has also not renamed the class.
Getting errors at startup with the plugin MoneyDrop 1.3[1185] have a feeling this has to do with OtherDrops, i might be wrong doh.
@Celtic_Minstrel
Woohoo! Thanks (For the decimal option) :)
Quoting what I said a minute ago...
Are you sure that MONEY-DROP@5/3 will drop 3 bundles of 5 gold? I'd agree that it should probably work that way, but I originally set it up so that MONEY@5/3 would actually interpret 5/3 as a fraction, and since MONEY-DROP mostly uses the same code...
Checked the code, and I'm fairly sure this was correct... except that I changed it so that it should work as you said. :D
I also added a money-precision global option, which is the number of decimal places to round all money drops to.
Oh, and for randomized money drops. It's not currently possible in the shorthand, but I believe it would be possible like this:
Of course, you can only get integer multiples that way.
@CDHarris
Did you change anything between the last time you had it working and the time your first noticed it wasn't working? Including both config changes and OtherDrops updates.
@CDHarris
Pigs are not treated like vehicles.
@ZariusT
I think adding a global config option (in otherblocks-config.yml) would be best for setting the number of decimal places in money drops.

Ok... now I'm getting some really weird problems. I had it working so killing anything with a bow and arrow would drop an arrow or two in addition to the default drops (and occasionally reward a really long shot with a golden apple) as if you were scavenging them from the corpse. Then, it just stopped working for some reason. I tried every combination of BOW, ARROW, PROJECTILE_ARROW, ANY + attackrange, etc. Nothing got it working again. I thought using ANY_PROJECTILE finally fixed the problem, but that was because I was only testing with the bow. I killed a zombie after that with a sword and arrows came flying out. Nothing bad is showing up in the logs.
@Divis
@number is just for the value of money and xp however there's still a shortcut: /number is for quantities - eg: drop: APPLE/2-4/68% (means drop from 2 to 4 apples with 68% chance).
nice update on the 'pages' links up there very good info!
quick question, can we use @number-here for everything or is it only for money drops? would be a nice feature if not, insted of typing out quantity (saves space! :P)
@Joymo
There's a link to the changelog near the top of this page :) I haven't been keeping this page as up to date as the forum page - haven't made a full move to here yet.
Having said that the changelog has been kept up to date up to beta-6 by Rugrats (thanks :))
Any chance for a changelog? :P
@ZariusT
@3-10 works, or another condition, perhaps 'range:'
Keep up the great work. This is by far my favourite plugin :)
