NoNameTags
NoNameTags
About.
NoNameTags is a plugin that will allow developers to completely hide a players nametag.
Why use NoNameTags?
Other plugins will force the player to sneak, set the name an almost blank string so that the nametag is "mostly" hidden, but with this plugin, the nametag, black box and name, will be completely hidden. Another thing is you don't need any extra plugins to use this, such as TagAPI.
How to use NoNameTags
I'm a developer!
There are only two methods you need to know to start using this plugin. Once you've added NoNameTags to your build path, you can call "NoNameTags.showTag(Player)" and NoNameTags.hideTag(Player)". The first method will display the players name tag if it is hidden and the second will hide the players name tag if it is visible.
I run my own server!
Some plugins you use may use this to hide player's nametags, so you'll just have to download this and add it into your plugins folder.
If you are lookinf for an up2date Plugin which hides Nametags, look here!

Link is down, can you please update?
Can you add compatibility with spigot 1.7.10?
1.8 server have any bug with pvp style server, so we use 1.7.10 still. Your plugin have no compatibility with 1.7.10. I did try the NoNametags 1.1 and your 1.8 build. Both no work.

Hi.. I'm a server owner and I wanted to use this for a feature on my server, but it seems it's only meant to hook in to other plugins.. There's no commands/permissions in it and I wondered if there is another dev who made it with an enable/disable command or with permissions? If not, since I do not know javascript, is there any way I could get this to work through a command block or through the console, anything?
I assume you updated it yourself btw?
@MysteriooN
That's awesome! It would be nice if there was a way of hiding nametags for certain people only, if you were going to add more functionality to it.
Like if you have a game with 2 teams, one team wouldn't be able to see the nametags of the other.
Find new builds for 1.8 for here. This is simply an update, I haven't any more functionality yet.
I'm updating this for 1.8. I'm also gonna add functionality so you can hide the nametag only for certain players.
Not sure if this project is still active, however, it needs updating for the latest server builds. From what I have been tinkering with, the plugin enables by simply updating the imports.
Note that this plugin does work on 1.7.9 builds, however, there is no way to handle this so that only some people get the update vs others. I have no idea whether this can be changed or not since I have no experience with packets. An update to 1.7.10 would be nice since it takes 2 seconds to do in most cases.
Maven ?
This doesn't work. I've added the NoNameTags.jar file into my Java Build Path (As an external Jar of course) I added 2 commands, 1st one is to enable it, second to disable it.
I added this to the first command: NoNametags.showNametag(player); Second command: NoNameTags.hideNametag(player);
I went on my other computer on another account to check if this worked. I get this error when I do the commands.
"An internal error occurred while attempting to perform this command" Any help?
EDIT: I'm running my server with Spigot CraftBukkit, do I have to use SpoutCraft to make this work? Else I wouldn't even need this.
@MiniDigger
No other dependencies rather than NMS, which it doesn't sound like you're too interested in.
Does this depend on Protocol Lib? I don't wan't to use plugins, who use nms, too much update work... Also they are quite insecure, cause more disconnects then other plugins...
