NoNameTag
This plugin is great for PvP servers who want to add extra stealth while playing. It removes name tags, however, it keeps a tiny box above the player's head. Currently, having no nametag will reset your skin to "Steve", another Minecraft limitation I can't break.
How do I use this?
Simply download the latest file and put it in your plugins folder. To give a player permission to alter the visibility of their nametag, simply give them the permission nonametag.use and they will have access to the /nnt toggle command. Giving players the nonametag.use.others permission will allow them to toggle the visibility of other players' nametags.
Do I need any other plugin to use this?
Yes. This plugin requires TagAPI to function. Download it here!
Will this break any of my other plugins?
Not that I am aware of. If you find that it does, please PM me on BukkitDev/Bukkit Forums, or add a comment below!
How do I use the config.yml?
See configuration.
Planned features:
- Hovering over another player will toggle their nametag.
- More advanced configuration file (please post ideas in the comments!)
- Whatever else you guys want!
If I use /nnt first, I'm invisible. But if I use /nnt again, I'm still invisible. Only when I remove the plugin from my server and do a relog I'm visible. Knows somebody a fix for this bug? I hope you understand what I mean to say, because my English is not so good.
Add world support. Would a great addition. I already did it with your source, however would be cool to have it public :)
@christiancobo
It says its for 1.5.2 which tekkit is not on.
is anyone available to help me and a friend get this set up on a tekkit server? we got it to the point where we can execute the /nnt toggle command but at that point nothing actually happens, we can still see eachothers names :(
is it possible for example to show player tags only who is in your Faction? (Factions plugin)
Updated for 1.5.2!
@BlueMond
Although I'm no expert, I'm guessing that'd be extremely painful to code. You'd have to track everyone's head position and determine if the coordinates and head position of the target and viewer player align in the specific way that the viewer would be looking somewhere on the player. I don't even want to try to do that. :P
May I suggest that you should add visibility of a player's tag when the cursor of another player hovers over this player? Such as that of the old classic minecraft.
@Enkious
PEX (PermissionsEX)
yep, only works with OP's, tried multiple permissions plugins. And even with OP's it leaves a small box above the head. (btw, using 1.5.1)
@oysteinsv
What permissions are you using?
Love this plugin, but it only works for OP's even though I give someone the permissions
can´t you make another option in configuration file, like: "decrypt nametag: true". An use your code from here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/completely-remove-nametag.137504/ to decrypt the name, but then you keep the skins?
thx
julia :)
Doesn't work if you have BattleTags on your server :/ I need it to be applied on a certain world only, is that possible?
@techboy291
TagAPI does all the packet manipulation (uses Packet20NamedEntitySpawn).
@Pippiter69
Get TagAPI
I'm curious, did you just use TagAPI to do all this? Or did you use packets directly and TagAPI?
@Pippiter69
Did that server use spoutplugin and spoutcraft? There's a plugin that relies on those that can change user skins independently of their name (ie, the enter a command to change their skin to a certain username or url, and spoutcraft clients will see that skin), although I don't know if a skin assigned that way would override the Steven skin effect of this plugin.
Can you add so (make it configurable) when you sneak it activates, and when you dont sneak its normal?
@Pippiter69
Curious... what is the server IP?
