NightBlindness
About this plugin
NightBlindness is a plugin that allows you to blind players in specific worlds when it's night. This gives an extra difficulty to the survival aspect at night. Players will have the effect 'Blindness' limiting their view to three blocks in front of them, however... mobs can still see players.
Players with the required permission will be excluded from blindness, allowing you to give seperated ranks the ability to see at night.
Update Notice
This plugin does no require any updates when Bukkit updates. Please report bugs in the forum section.
Examples
Plugin usage examples:
- SurvivalGames: Make it harder for players to find chests at night
- PvP Raid servers: Players will be more vulnerable to mobs at night, but players can't see each other.
- Let them sleep: Players will more likely sleep instead of staying up all night. But instead of an admin changing the time, this is more natural.

Metrics
This plugin uses an API to send information to mcstats. To turn this off:
- Got to your plugins root
- Locate /Plugin-Metrics
- Inside the config.yml set opt-out to false
This information is being send:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version

Ok so if you set "useAlways" in the config to true, it will work in the day. When the light level is 1 (I had to choose one myself and this seems dark enough. The player will be blinded. And then there are some calculations based on the night + configurable light level - time between the first and last calculation. But the point is that it should work xD 1.2.0 should be approved soon

Again, maybe blindness while under a light level, regardless of time? Also, (AGAIN), deny permission no workie. And a suggestion- make the blindness go away while holding a torch (not just in inv., in hand)?
Hi, do you know why this might be only working on OP's but not regular players? Could there be a permission I'm missing?

Brilliant, been waiting on the light level feature. For a future feature that would go great with this plug-in, if it was possible to have blindness activate during the daytime periods for those that are mining underground in the pitch-black.
Also, an issue I have found. After about half a minute of blindness by this plug-in, it will start to flicker off for a split second before re-initializing. Essentially creating a minor strobe effect sometimes.
Have a coffee on me for the great work so far! :)
Would also be nice if we were able to configure the check intervals when enabling/disabling blindness.
& another issue I found is that the permission node "nightblindness.deny.*" actually gives players blindness, rather than deny blindness as the description describes.

Would love to install this plug-in on my server if there was a way to disable blindness for players who were in a light level higher than a configurable value. Could work quite well for when a player is mining underground if they're affected by blindness due to being in a dark surrounding. Also doubles up as an anti-xray mechanic :)

you should make it so when its dark lets say below light lvl 7 you get blinded with blindness potion effect and if possible you should add a flashlight item that it spawns a glowstone block under you and removes the blindness effect, just a suggestion.

No the blindness is like a thick fog around you. Torches will light up the area 4x4 around you tho
just wondering, if we put up torches, will we be able to see further?
