NameplateAPI
Nameplate(API)
Nameplate(API) is not just a tool for server owners. What NameTag does is 2 things.
The /nametag command, uses the 0-9 and a-f colours. There is also a "reset" /nametag reset (player).
Server Owners
- Have the ability to set a players name tag colour.
- Allow other plugins to set a players name tag. (Username / Username with Colour / Colour)
Commands for Server Owners
- To set your own nametag, you need the nametag.use permission. Command; " /nametag t [tag] "
- To set another players nametag, you need the nametag.use.others permission. Command; " /nametag t [tag] [player] "
- To set your own nametag colour, you need the nametag.use permission. Command; " /nametag c [a-f/0-9] "
- To set another players nametag colour, you need the nametag.use.others permission. Command; " /nametag c [a-f/0-9] [player] "
Developers
- Easy to use an API which does all the packeting business for you.
How to use Nameplate (Server Owners)
- Install the plugin.
- If you wish, players with the "nametag.use" permission, can set their/other peoples name tag.
- If you want to give groups/players certain nametags. Give them the permission of "nametag.colour.[code]". But don't give them "nametag.use".
How to use NameplateAPI (Developers)
- Add the plugin as a soft dependancy.
- Look in the GitHub repo for more info on how to use it.

@CaptainSkittles
Can you post the error on pastebin?
@Haribo98
Idk why, but I got the error again. (V1.2.8)
I'm going to be playing with the 1.5 methods to see if it is possible to change the tagswithojt changing the skin. Please wait while I work on this, I am still unsure if it is possible.
@Undearius
Isn't that already added? If it's not then I am disappointed with myself...
You should allow the ability to set nametags from the console.
@Mcphiction
It is, I wanted it for my staff to have shortened Gold names in the lobby server' spawn. However, it changes their skins.
@Panic94
The command for that is, " /nametag t &4ThePanic "
To change for another player, " /nametag t &4Player player "
@Haribo98 i tried to change the color and the username together but unsuccessfully. Can you say me what commands i have to do for, for example, change my name from Panic94 in white to ThePanic in red. Thanks
@Haribo98
Alright, thought so. That's rather annoying, and As I understand there's no-way around it either.
@Mcphiction
It changes to the skin of the username above their head.
So, With this plugin, does it change the name of the player about their head (If you actually Change their name)?
If so, does the player's skin change to the default MC Skin, or does it stay as the players customized skin?
The updated, non-bugged version has been uploaded! Version 1.2.8!
@lossiedossi
Click the download button in the top left. Current 1.4 only!
New features will have to wait :( the version checker doesn't work for 1.4 for some reason. I can't sort it out now.
Sorry :(
how exactly do i get this plug in? i made my server last night and i'm really excited!
@pixelzee
Depends on if they have a backlog or not. Sometimes an hour, sometimes 2 days :(
How long does it take the Bukkit Staff to approve? :D
@CaptainSkittles
The update has been posted, waiting on Bukkit Dev Staff for approval now!
@CaptainSkittles
Just trying to make it 1.4.7 and 1.5 compatible since there are new features in this build :D
@Haribo98 Nvm. Ty for fixing the problem so fast :)
