About MV2
Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with NetherPortals.
In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but *not bloated*! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!
Multiverse is back! Is your server, a Multiverse?
Multiverse-NetherPortals Features
- Allow a nether per real world!
- Let nether portals built in a world go to a specific world
- Custom World Scaling when using NetherPortals! (All types of worlds, normal, skylands and nether supported! Even Custom generators!)
So long Awesome Builds
We use to have this notion of an "Awesome Build" or AB which was suppose to be thought of like Bukkit's Recommended Build system. Awesome Builds were ones that we put extra testing into and were meant to be very stable. Unfortunately there will be no more Awesome Builds. Our development team doesn't have the time to devote to the project that we use to. As such, we've moved to a new build system which you'll notice in the new version numbering. Our release builds here should be stable; Lots of people have had time to vet them for us while they were only development builds. While we don't have much time to work on the project, we do still take critical bugs very seriously and try to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
@thefowles1
You may need to manually /link the worlds together. See the command reference for more information.
I installed this plugin on our server to get the nether to work in a non-primary world, but now the naturally occurring End portals in our primary world do not work. When I jumped through one, I got the message "This portal goes nowhere!" and was popped back in front of the End portal. Furthermore, there was an obsidian portal that got created right next to the End portal, seemingly out of nowhere.Is there any way to allow naturally occurring End portals to work correctly with MV-NetherPortals?EDIT: Never mind, the worlds weren't in the MV config. Now, new issues:
When I arrive in The End, I am very far off target (http://puu.sh/hEzf).Setting "scale: 10000" worked (thanks mtthprvr)Which generator/environment should I specify when I import the world?Seems it automatically changes its env to THE_ENDI will update some of the things I am discovering in the wiki, as they seem to be useful information.
Thanks in advance for the help.Well, that worked itself out, didn't it.@A51Rene
I experienced what you explained in a previous post: spawning in the "end" in the middle of nowhere.
Try to set a huge scale factor (10000) it will make you spawn at spawn point of the end (which is actually where the ender dragon is).
I have a second normal world named "survival". I downloaded NP and installed it and made a second nether world called "survival_nether". However, users are reporting that nether portals in "survival" don't activate. Did I do something wrong or miss a step?
@fernferret
Are the issues with The End now resolved? Do the portals work correctly now?
2.3 is out with 1.1-R3 Support. Enjoy.
@MightyFlyRudy
you can, but any portals back will always go to the main world. check out the wiki for how to do it.
Is it possible to use this plugin to make each of my worlds nethers go to the main world's nether? I have 3 worlds I'd like this on: world, world_retro1 and world_retro2. I'd like the nether portals there to connect to world_nether.
Is there somebody who has the Nether portals and The End portals working with Bukkit 1.1-R3 (1846) and the latest dev build, AB 2.3 RC, of multiverse?
@fernferret
when will AB 2.3 come out? Now, I can not use Multiverse Inventories and NetherPortals at the same time, can I?
I'm having a small problem - I've got nether portals set up so that my world_survival links to world_nether and vice versa, but no matter where you make a portal in either the nether or survival it always links to the same one. No matter what I do to the config, I cant get it to stop doing this.
Is there anything I have to do to reenable world scaling?
AB should be out by next Monday at the latest.
I cannot guarentee full end-portal world scaling support, but this will be the first thing we get working in 2.3.
--FF
What's the ETA of the next AB? I'm awaiting support for The End...
For what it is worth, I am having the problem where all portals come to the same spot too, and I haven't installed the Nether Portals plugin, just Multiverse-Core.
@Scent_Tree
yeah, all of my portals are going to the same place as well. if anyone finds/makes a fix, lemme know
Everyone who is freaking out:
We are still here. I spent a lot of time this weekend solidifying Core. If it's not stable, no plugins will work.
Custom EndPortal linking is very iffy atm. It psudo-works, but don't rely on it.
I will be working on it this weekend.
--FF
Anyone else get all the portals going to the same place in the nether?
I installed the plugin, and there is no config. The nether portal in world "Normal" takes me to the world "Normal_nether" and visa-versa. But from my world "Elite" portals don't take me to a "Elite_nether", even though I created such world.
What am I doing wrong?
MV-NetherPortals needs to be fixed and there needs to be an MV-EnderPortals plugin cause we can't get to the Ender on my server with Multiverse
In any world whenever I attempt to go to the Nether it won't let me, eg. if I'm in the world "world" and go through a portal, a console error comes up saying "Whoops! world_nether does not exist" even though it does and is in the same directory as "world."
Edit: Turns out you need to import "world_nether" into Multiverse. D'oh.
