About MV2
Multiverse was created at the dawn of Bukkit multiworld support. It has since then grown into a complete world management solution including special treatment of your nether worlds with NetherPortals.
In the second delivery of Multiverse, we've broken it up into several smaller plugins that are each feature packed but *not bloated*! Multiverse provides the easiest to use world management solution for your Minecraft server, big or small, and with great addons like Portals and NetherPortals, what's not to love!
Multiverse is back! Is your server, a Multiverse?
Multiverse-NetherPortals Features
- Allow a nether per real world!
- Let nether portals built in a world go to a specific world
- Custom World Scaling when using NetherPortals! (All types of worlds, normal, skylands and nether supported! Even Custom generators!)
So long Awesome Builds
We use to have this notion of an "Awesome Build" or AB which was suppose to be thought of like Bukkit's Recommended Build system. Awesome Builds were ones that we put extra testing into and were meant to be very stable. Unfortunately there will be no more Awesome Builds. Our development team doesn't have the time to devote to the project that we use to. As such, we've moved to a new build system which you'll notice in the new version numbering. Our release builds here should be stable; Lots of people have had time to vet them for us while they were only development builds. While we don't have much time to work on the project, we do still take critical bugs very seriously and try to get them fixed as quickly as possible.
I Downloaded the plugin properly but nothing is working. I type /mvp wand and it just says "Unknown command. Type "help" for help." it also happened when i used the portal create command. How can i fix this?
I just want to make a nether portal in a survival world, and have it teleport me to the nether. But no, multiverse cant even handle that. I have to manually make the new nether world, and even then I dont spawn at a portal. I spawn inside a bunch of netherrack and die. And I also have a completely different inventory in the nether. How am I supposed to bring blaze powder and crap back home if there are separate inventories between 'world' and 'world_nether'. HOW DO I FIX ALL THIS CRAP?!
I want to have nether portals from one world teleport people to the other world, but the way back should be blocked. I use this config file:
worlds: darklands: portalgoesto: {} nether: portalgoesto: NETHER: darklands bounceback: true
This works perfectly fine. However when this is used, I will get an error when someone passes through the valid portal from the nether to the darklands:
"No specific nether world has been linked to this world and 'darklands_nether' is not a world".
What should I do?
@Boosted_Death
yea i have that same problem too! i hope it will be fixed soon this happens cuz the nether's hight is 1 to 128 and the normal world is 1 to 256 and the skyblock should be about the hight 120+ so the protal will be spawned upon the bedrock,the developer should take a look at this,that if the portal is at hight (example 50) it will take to the nether at hight 25. should be using "Int" intput type and not "Double".
I run a skyblock server and nether is kind of important, I finally got the portals working, but since its skyblock it spawns them near or at the top of the nether, Like in the bedrock. Is there a way to fix this?
@LeakCraft
NOTE: This is a reply to someone who wants to replace Multiverse-NetherPortals with Multiverse-Portals.
To re-activate the broken portals with Multiverse-Portals, you need to follow the following steps:
Once you have created all the portals, you need to connect them. You do this by typing the following (repeat for each portal):
The 'p:' part is very important, and means that whatever follows is the name of a predefined portal. If you want to refer to a world, rather than a portal here, you replace 'p:' with 'w:'.

If this doesn't work, it's possible your nether worlds are not named correctly.
Check that the nether world in your server folder is called "world_nether", and the end world is called "world_the_end".
I've linked a nether portal from one world to a nether world but for some reason when a player goes through the portal they appear about 20 blocks bellow it. When you go back through the portal (nether->normal) they appear 20 blocks above the portal! I can't understand why it's doing this. :/
@themine12
I would very much like to know this too, Im having players abuse this to get into bases.
how do i make it so that every portal made in one world leads to its own portal in the nether?

@Keeper1975
You could maybe just use MV Portals to make any portal/area teleport you to any other.
-select 'portal' with worldedit wand
-/mvp create name
-travel to destination location
-/mvpm dest here
@Keeper1975
Did you remove nether portals from server.properties?:
allow-nether=false
Hello,
Maybe someone can help me with this, since i'm tired of trying it and it does not work:
I want to connect two overworlds together.
I've used the following command to link overworld 1 with 2:
...but it ALWAYS takes me to overworld_nether no matter what i do.
Do note that overworld 2 is of a normal type map, NOT of a nether type map.
Do note that i'm using craftbukkit 1.4.7 R1.0...
Am i doing something wrong?
@aidsterrr1
It's working fine on my server.
does this work with 1.4.7 r.0.1?
I was wondering if you could help me. I accidently installed multiverse-netherportals when I meant to install multiverse-portals, now all portals are broken when I remove this plugin. They only work when I have this plugin installed, which I do not wish to have installed. I have tried setting the portals with the commands, and then removing. However my server is now permanently requiring me to have this plugin installed for nether portals / end portals to work.
Could you please fix this? I'm not interested in restarting my whole world.
I browsed through the comments and didn't see anyone mention this yet so I just wanted to offer an explanation for why Portals are working, but not linking correctly.
I assume that this was an issue with Bukkit 1.4.7 not using a travel agent in cases of nether and the end. Here is the commit on GitHub (https://github.com/Bukkit/Bukkit/pull/760), they resolved the issue since 1.4.7 was released but never recompiled to 1.4.7 r1.1 and that is why we are still having the issues. This should be fixed in 1.5

I use multiverse netherportals on my skyblock server. Although the fact that it takes you to a corresponding nether works, I am a bit disappointed. Since my server is skyblock, the y-coordinate of the islands are very high. Whenever someone creates a nether portal, although the nether portal will be in the nether, the people will spawn on the roof of the nether. Is this a bug and can it be fixed?
Well even the latest AB's worked pretty well, the dev ones I think fixed being able to quickly go through a portal (not standing still) and NOT go through it. However the same wrong behavior of it making a new portal on my return pass =/.
Where do I find the dev versions?
@ursak @Blue___Moon
Build 653 works for me. Are you using an older build?
