MoxieSkills
MoxieSkills is a skills plugin like none you've ever seen before. Having had three previous recodes, the current version is as fast and efficient as you will ever see. Train yourself in a range of fifteen unique skills to beat your friends. With hiscores, good interfacing and challenging levelling, you'll never be bored.
What Does MoxieSkills Do?
- Competitive levelling formula
- Vast range of skills
- Skill leaderboards
- Skill and XP dynamics similar to that seen of online MMOs
- Multipliers for individual players and their skills
- MySQL Database support
- Each skills is highly configurable - each has it's own file!
This plugin uses an email API to automatically report errors. I do not receive passwords (this would break Bukkit rules). If you want to keep your email anonymous, use Yahoo! email, otherwise use GMail (only Yahoo! and GMail are supported). There is also an option to send your server IP to improve communications. This plugin also uses an auto-updater and MCStats.

@x3nec
I'll give it a try. :)
@TheCoryGuy
I couldn't say for certain :/ It may be the new experience bars. If you use the latest dev build, I haven't noticed any such issues in my own testing. :)
I'm having a WEIRD issue with this.
Everything works fine except that sometimes upon leveling up, a series of TNT explosions occur above the player that endlessly make their way up. These are not fireworks (which I disabled), but actual explosions that some have reported seeing the leveling up text within them!
This causes lag on the server. Thoughts?
@x3nec
Alright, awesome and thanks! :)
I'll be sure to test this later on when my server isn't stuck in a rut. (I'm literally unable to test it because it's outdated and it cannot be updated without one critical plugin breaking.)
@Weave2
Fixed!
@dragonflyz78
I forgot to add the tools! :/ If you remake the two skill files with the latest version it will fix itself :)
@CommodoreAlpha
Added :D
@lord0o
I'll look into this for you - it's an issue I've encountered before so it'll be a quick fix :)
@CollinDesigns
Yes, just replace MySQL with YML in the main configuration for storage type.
@JuicyButterChips
I will contact the developer of this plugin to see if he might add support.
Ive been receiving an error recently dealing with the swimming skill i think. As far as what happens in game 2 people are fighting underwater.

Hello can you tell me how the woodcutting.yml should look because i cannot get XP from chopping trees
I think I've mentioned this before, but being able to build up horse stats and develop horse skills would set this RPG plugin apart from the other ones, as I don't believe there's nearly enough emphasis on maintaining good relationships with horses.
For horse stats, which would be dependent on the horse's experience and not the player's, those would simply make the horse "better", like speed and jump height.
For horse skills, there would probably be three categories you can put them in:
See this plugin if you're interested in "borrowing" ideas. The ability to "trample" looks interesting.
I do realise your busy, so I'm going to leave this in the form of a ticket also so you won't forget.
So...people Boosts some skills like defense and constitution on a worldguard region...can you make worldguard compatible to disable the skills if pvp flag's off ?. Thank you
Does this plugin also works without MySQL ? Since idk how to use this at all :(
When will you add this feature? http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/mcmmoextras/
Or let it hook in?
Can you add a scoreboard that displays that show your skill levels in the right corner? Example: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/scoreboardstats/ This would make my server look like an rpg server :D Hope you would do this <3
Main reason I am sticking to 1.5.2 is I love me some zombies, and well 1.6+ has huge issues with even a few let alone 100. And I am glad I stayed after finding out about the account spoofing that was made possible in 1.6+. Many of the mini games were not updated in a reasonable time frame, and well it just seems like a lot of crap issues for wat carpet and horses, let my players ride pigs they are happy. but you better ride the pig fast cause the zombies are coming. I'm not bashing, but it just seems like they released with known issues just to get the release out. And the zombie path following was known long before release and they just ignored it. Anything your willing to do would be great I hate seeing the cannot pass player death event to moxie errors and crap in my console, but the players do love the "thought" of the advancement.
@x3nec
Cool! You could make it an option in the config, in case some people don't want it.
@Frofster
That sounds like a fantastic alternative to the message spam and I'll definitely consider it!
@antichip
To work with 1.5.2 properly, crafting,cooking, and smithing have to be disabled due to the way they're handled I'm afraid. Is there any reason you still use 1.5.2? If it is widespread usage for some reason, I will consider releasing a 1.5.2 version without a problem!
so will this new 1.6.2 version work with 1.5.2, I keep getting, http://pastebin.com/eA5RG2DJ
I relly like this plugin and what it can offer as far as a player bragging right and just fun for them, But well I have an errored console
Any chance you could develop something like this
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/mcmmoexpbar/
for Moxie Skills? I think it'd be a great addition.
@ericejs123
MoxieRPG - Christmas season :)
@CommodoreAlpha
A planned skill yes, I just need to get my university application sorted this month first. Looking at Christmas before I have something truly decent to offer on the MoxieRPG front. I do still have your document, on my Google Drive and memory stick and it has some wonderful ideas. Skills will be unlocked based on the way they were previously. Multi-skill. Only this time as I said, I want to make it easy for anyone to develop and register their own. I think this would grow the library massively very quickly. A fun project for everyone! Not just me! :D
