Mojang Status
Mojang Status
The Mojang servers' uptimes are getting better, but there are (and will always be) some times when their servers are down. Unfortunately some players aren't as familiar with the http://help.mojang.com status checker page so they think it's your server's fault. This can result in players thinking the problem is your server's, which is never good.
Now with MojangStatus, your server motd (the message you see in the server list) will change if a mojang service is down. So your players will be informed before they even enter your server.
Features
- Super easy and lightweight.
- Unlike other plugins MojangStatus gets the uptime data directly from Mojang's websites, not a third party's.
- Status checks run async, which means it won't cause lag or freeze your server.
- Choose which services to be counted as "Mojangservers are offline." (For example, if the skins servers are down that might not be a reason to inform your players.)
This plugin uses Plugin Metrics. This means it will send anonymous data to mcstats.org to help improve MojangStatus. If you really want to (please don't) you can disable this feature in the Plugin Metrics configuration. (Located plugins/Plugin Metrics)
Configuration
checkUpdate: true
Would you like MojangStatus to automatically check for newer versions available from BukkitDev?
downMessage:
What would you like the motd to say when a Mojang server is offline?
Planned Features/Fixes
- Commands to view status.
- Customisable check times.
- Execute commands (or broadcast a message) when a Mojang server goes offline/online.
- API so other plugins can hook in to Mojang Status and see if the mojang servers are online/offline.
- What do you want added? Submit an enchantment ticket!
well, it does actually work now. Can have been the dev build perhaps.
@fungreenfox
It looks like Mojang has changed a couple of things, I'll work on an update.
well im at craftbukkit 172 now. It shows several servers goes down during all day, but ppl can still login. account, session etch...
@fungreenfox
I'm not understanding what you're saying. :( Is it working fine now?
@nxtguy
well, after authsession went online, i checked again, and now it can say service is offline in title.
No, i don't have any other motd for this.
@fungreenfox
Try reloading your server. But if it says it fine in the console, it means it knows the services are offline. It's a problem with setting the motd. Do you have any other plugins that change the motd? (Some motd plugins may override.)
@nxtguy
Try put mcraft.dk on the list. There are 3 servers offline .net, session and authserver. The message is not in the list.
Only minecraft.net is excluded for check.
It only tells in console atm.
@fungreenfox
I'm running it fine on the latest 1.6.4 dev build. What errors are you getting?
This plugin dosnt work with 1.6.4
@fungreenfox
If this is something you would like added, please create a ticket.
Feature suggestions and bugs sometimes get lost in the comments section so it really helps if you can create a ticket:D
I just wish, all authors of plugins would add a CMD for reloading their plugins. It takes me 6 minutes to restart the server.
@bebosny
Currently it's hard coded in as every 10 seconds. This will be configurable in a future update.
Still waiting for the broadcast feature. How frequently does this plugin check the status?
@fungreenfox
Okay, I'll hopefully have this implemented in MojangStatus v1.2.
@nxtguy
Yes please. Some offline services does not throw the ppl off, but OPs could wonder. Permission based will be great.
@fungreenfox
So when a Mojang service goes down, it makes an announcement to players with permissions (or ops)?
Can you make it announce to op's too?
@BustedEarLobes
Yeah, I've been having this problem with my server. Players can't connect and they aren't sure what the problem is. I hope lots of servers use this. :D
@Marium0505
The plugin has been finished! You can now download it on the right side.
Hey, that's actually a good idea! I've had times where I couldn't connect to my server and I can't figure out whether it's me, or the minecraft login servers. Hopefully, a lot of servers start using it.
Can't wait for this to be finished!
