MobTalk
Under New Management:
This plugin has recently transferred ownership and has been rewritten from the ground up.
Description:
This mod enables the function for mobs to send chat messages upon various events. Any player within a designated radius of the mob will see the chat message when it speaks. The messages, message format and events are all fully customizable. Read the Advanced Configuration section for more info.
Setup:
- Download the latest version of MobTalk (located at the bottom of the sidebar under "Recent Files:").
- Add the permission "mobtalk.hear" to the players you want to be able to see the mobs chatter (ops have it by default).
- Drop plugin into your plugins directory and restart the server (so it generates the configuration file).
- You can use the command '/mobtalk reload' to reload the configuration file without restarting the server(/mt works too!).
- Your done! If you would like to change what the mobs say, when they say it, and how often they say it, read this page - Advanced Configuration
Errors/Issues:
If you have any errors or issues with the plugin, please use the ticket system provided. Be sure to include any stack traces or console outputs as well as a full description of the issue and I will respond and create a fix as soon as I can.
Please improve the talking algorhitms and make a command to disable them talking for yourself :D

Just uploaded the first version but it won't be downloadable until bukkitdev approves it.
Brasil es el país número uno en el mundo. Este plugin es muy bueno, lo uso en mi servidor. Está alojado fuera de Brasil. ¿Puedes por favor agregar el soporte en español? Gracias hue hue
Hue.
I think there is something wrong with the random choosing of messages. My Villagers have about 20 different lines of text, but this picture shows the same line "villager number 24" almost 3 times in a row: http://i.imgur.com/D3CZjj0.jpg
And also with villager number 9: http://i.imgur.com/6O352Z8.jpg
All that time i didnt walk away from the villager.
Villager: "Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll". Skyrim. GREAT :D
And this plugin is great, thanks man! Im also giving most mobs easter eggs, and now i got the idea to do a lot of skyrim easter eggs, as well as other games and movies. One of the best plugins ever!
I get an issue where the mobs start spamming blank chat lines. It wont show a name or anything they are just blank lines that fill up the text box
@_FrostByte_
Thank you. :) Love it!
@cap811
Sorry for taking so long - works like a charm! It was my impatience for them to speak that was the issue, not the plugin :).
Weather sync was a plugin (or, I guess, a series of plugins) that would take your location (specified via a config file) and then set the weather conditions in game to match your actual local (or whatever location you entered) conditions. You can see the littered graveyard of such plugins just by searching on the bukkitdev pages ;) . If you tackle this one you have my vote for Time Person of the Year...
Thanks a lot.
@catprowler
The maximumDistance option in the config will do that. The default value is 16. This means that is you are not in a 16 block radius from the mob, you will not hear them speak.
Unless you want a perticular message that only shows when a player enters that radius?
I love this plugin. It is so funny. Is there a way so that when you get near a particular mob it will show up in chat instead of randomly in chat? Like citizens 2 where you can set a range (ex: 4 blocks) before that mob will talk? Thank you. :)
So, could you add changeable mob-names? It'll be nice if we could rename mobs and change their names' color.
@cap811
I don't know what you mean by weather sync, but sure, I'll give it a shot!
@_FrostByte_
Hi,
Thanks for getting back - I figured it was something I missed :) - I'll set the threshold to 1 tonight and try it and report back. Once again, it's great that this is alive once more!
Now, feel like taking a shot at a weather sync plugin? ;)
@cap811
Okay I tried it on a test spigot server. It appears to be working(except for a breeding glitch). Any player that should hear mobs should get the permission 'mobtalk.hear', however ops should have it by default. The config contains modifiers that dictate how often a mob will talk. So if you want a mob to always talk when interacted with, then set threshold.interact to 1 (default 0.3) in the config file. Let me know if you have any more issues.
1.7.2 release hopefully to come soon.
@cap811
I'm not at my PC right now but as soon as I'm back I'll see what I can figure out. Thanks for the support, btw!
Been waiting forever for this to come back! Happy!
I loaded 1.0b on a 1.6.4 Spigot server ( git-Spigot-1138 (MC: 1.6.4) (Implementing API version 1.6.4-R2.1-SNAPSHOT), to be precise)
The plugin enables OK: [MobTalk] Loading MobTalk v1.0b, followed a bit later by [MobTalk] Enabling MobTalk v1.0b
Even with an op login I don't see any "talk" when interacting with mobs... anything I (probably) missed?
THANKS for bringing this back out again!
