About
MiningMachines is a plugin that aspires to bring tekkit-like machines to Minecraft. That being said, not all machines are exactly like their tekkit counter parts and not all machines are from tekkit.

Note
Quarries are the only functioning machine in the plugin at the moment and even that component is not fully fleshed out. If any bugs or things that you believe are problems or that should be changed, should be sent to me via the ticket system. At the moment, there are no permissions, and no protection systems in place, so if you are going to use this plugin as it currently is, make sure you are aware of that.
Configuration
- default-width The default width of a quarry
- default-height The default height of a quarry
- default-length The default length of a quarry
- quarry-material The material used for the quarry frame and arm
- clearing-speed The speed at which the quarry will clear the land in preparation for the quarry to begin building. (The lower, the faster)
- building-speed The speed at which the quarry frame will be built (The lower, the faster)
- mining-speed The speed at which the quarry will mine (The lower, the faster)
- reduced-lag If set to to false, the quarry will use falling blocks as the arm rather than solid blocks to add a more "fluid" feel to the quarry. Will cause more lag due to the amount of entities that spawn.
Quarries
Quarries use the furnace GUI. The bottom slot is for fuel and the top slot is for pickaxes. A pickaxe will allow the quarry to mine faster depending on the material, wood being the slowest and diamond being the fastest. The quarry will also recognize enchantments of the pickaxes used (Fortune, durability, and efficiency). Once a quarry is built, it will mine and spew blocks out near the quarry unless there is a chest above it, in which case it will attempt to put the items into the chest. Once a quarry is removed, the frame and arms will be set to air to prevent players from stealing the raw materials.
Once a quarry is placed, you will be able to see the outline of how big the quarries frame will be (as long as particles are on).

Posted Jul 26, 2014I am so glad that you made this plugin because I really wanted tekkitinspired quarries to work. There is one problem with the quarries that I think needs an option in the config file. I've noticed that if I log off with the quarry running, it will continue to run even when nobody is on the server. This defeats the purpose of upgrades because a player can set up a quarry log off and log in the next day and their quarry will be done. Could you add an option in the config file for quarries to not run while the chunks aren't loaded? Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Posted Jul 25, 2014Also we found a bug (feature) ...If you place a quarry down at bedrock level and give it fuel, it will break and collect bedrock when it it clearing an area for the frame...It will not break bedrock once the frame has been made and it is mining however. Luckily, I do not have to worry about my players using this as a griefing tool as they are all close friends and family, but I can see this being a nightmare for a larger server.
Also...I found a neat use for the quarry. I used it to clear out room for my basement by using it like a filler...just have to remember to break it before it make the frame or I end up with a hole in the floor. So with that...Any chance you could make a filler like the one from buildcraft? Seems like it may be kinda easy since you got the quarry...maybe use the top slot to set the mode of it...glass to clear...dirt to fill...etc. Also it would be cool if the size could be set for the quarry (and filler if you can make that) by using redstone torches like land markers from buildcraft. Maybe you can even make craftable land markers that remember their data similar to the quarry so as to not confuse the machines if someone has a redstone torch planted somewhere in range for some other reason.
Anyways...just ideas...use em..don't use em...up to you, but thanks for taking the time to make a neat plugin...we really enjoy it on our server!

Posted Jul 22, 2014Is there a way to make the quarry bigger than the default? Like maybe placing torches down to specify the area we wish to quarry or can this only be set in the config atm?

I've noticed this, and am looking for a solution, but if you'd like it be solid blocks, you can always go into the config and change "reduced-lag" to true.
