midibanks-revival
This plugin is a revival of the plugin at this thread.Originally created by Protected.
I thank him for originally creating it but am angered by his complete removal of the plugin without leaving any notification for its fans.
The original plugin allowed you to play midis in Minecraft without a client mod using noteblocks and correctly formatted signs.
The format of the signs is like this.
- first line: blank
- second line: [midi]
- third line: filename, must be short enough to fit on the line without the .mid extension.
- fourth line:Special perimeters, Such as start on chunk load and looping "A,L, and a few more I need to search for in the code."
examples:
Micheal Jackson's beat it.mid
- blank
- [midi]
- mjbi
song of storms.mid
- blank
- [midi]
- sos

Permission Nodes:
midibanks.can-use
midibanks.can-create
midibanks.cmd
My hopeful to-do list:
- maybe create a client version.
get more of the commands working- Just removed the non working onessomehow figure out how to add permissionsmaybe change the command to prevent conflictscommand is now midibanks- clean up the messy code
check the configuration file- included inside of jar also saved upon plugin load.
Optional Dependencies:
Vault
Official repo of the plugin:
http://midibanks-revival.googlecode.com/
this contains both the regular version and the bukkitforge version.
if you are having trouble with getting the midis to play open them with an external program such as Anvil Studio
the midis go in the same folder as the config file.
Can't wait to use this on 1.4.*!
@EncryptedCurse
i have not looked into how my plugin works with the latest Dev build. i have been going by the recommended builds.
Doesn't even activate on the latest dev build (1.4.2 - #2457). It spits out a NullPointerException at startup.

@rustyshakelford2
you will need to give your self the permissions
Thank you so much for doing this! It's been a really long time since I've used this plugin and it's great to have it back!
Doesn't work for good... the song i don't like :(
Using the latest bukkit RB, placing a [midi] sign just makes a bunch of signs drop.
@Luxius96
that's already on there just put an L on the fourth line of the sign.
Can you add the automatic restart song pls?
@billymakezbeatz
for the list command which is already implemented it is "midi list" for the part of playing it directly from my plugin that i need to implement for now please use the commandbook command to play the songs. For the part of not having it in rows that part i also need to implement.
Hi, i would like to donate to your project and maybe help me with the plugin on my server beatzcraft.sytes.net the things you should maybe add is /song list, /play (song) etc... so that you wouldn't have to make multiple note blocks in rows i hope u keep updating and maybe fix the songs into an list so it wouldent take up so much room! anyways love your plugin grate for clubs!
Are you using this?
https://github.com/Bukkit/mc-dev/blob/master/net/minecraft/server/Packet54PlayNoteBlock.java
If not, I highly recommend you do, since packets are as fast as possible, and don't conflict with anything. This may even fix the compatibility issues you are having, and is also fairly simple, so you would reduce the amount of ugly code you have.
@VietNg Is that all of the error your getting? because i dont see anything that could have caused it unless your using some unusual chunk management plugin.
@Humpie96 @cadika_orade @animeazn51 Did you all forget to grab vault as well as this plugin. Its a required dependency.
This mod does not work with bPermissions and bChatManager. Just to aware you guys.
Could not load... please fix :)
@Haribo98
Wow, that's helpful. :P
1. Placed latest build in Plugins folder. 2. Reloaded Bukkit. 3. Nothing happens.
Please tell me what I did wrong.
@cadika_orade
Seems to work perfectly fine here.
Must be something your doing wrong.
This plugin sounds like an amazing idea!
Too bad it doesn't seem to work. :/
Bukkit doesn't even seem to load the plugin at all, and when I followed the basic usage instructions, it didn't work. Also, where do I put the MIDI file? Since the plugin didn't create any folder, I simple put my MIDI into the Plugins folder.
Nothing. Am I doing something wrong?
Too Awesome!!!!!
