LoreLocks
LoreLocks is a plugin which allows you to physically secure your chests with chest locks and traps.

Locks
Locks come in 6 difficulties, 1-5 change the cylinder count of the lock and the 6th difficulty makes the lock unpickable, or in other words only the person which has the key can open the lock.
To create a key of a lock simply drop a lockpick on it.
Depending on the difficulty locks have a different amount of cylinders
- Difficulty 1 has 3 cylinders
- Difficulty 2 has 4 cylinders
- Difficulty 3 has 5 cylinders
- Difficulty 4 has 6 cylinders
- Difficulty 5 has 7 cylinders
Then place it in the first slot of the chest (upper left slot) to lock the chest. Make sure to create a key by dropping a lockpick onto the lock before locking the chest if you want to avoid picking your own chest every time.
If you forget to create a key from an unpickable lock ask an admin for help, he can bypass the lock and open the chest for you.
Traps
Traps are items which will secure your chest even more, to add a trap to a chest place it in the second slot, right next to the lock.
They are triggered when a player fails to pick the chest, i.E. whenever he clicks the wrong cylinder and the lock gets reset.
Types of traps
The damage trap
Damage traps damage the player which is trying to pick the lock every time he fails to pick the right cylinder. Power determines the amount of hearts (not half hearts) which are taken away.
The explosive trap
Explosive traps create an explosion on the location of the player failing to pick the lock. The explosion does not damage any blocks. For the power of explosive traps check this wiki article.
The poison trap
Poison traps apply the poison potion effect to the player failing, the power attribute determines the level of the poison effect.
The power attribute ranges from 1-127.

Any way to setup 'admin locks'? Locks that automatically relock after being unlocked. Would be very useful for quests, and to reward players for exploring cities.
I hate to be "That annoying guy", but I'm very eager for the planned updates, and I was wondering if there was an estimated completion/release date.

Yeah I saw those. I was operating under the impression that you could have permissions for crafting the different levels of locks and I was looking for those perms.. but after searching through the .jar I've realized it's not implemented yet. My bad.

Locks can be applied to doors. You right-click the door with the lock in-hand. To remove it, you open the door, then break it. To create a key for the door, you have to put the lock into a chest and create a key that way, then take the lock out of the chest and put it on a door~
Anyway to make it so that locks can be applied to doors too? That would be awesome!
It seems, that when i rename the texts in the config, that the lockcrafting doesnt work anymore. The only thing i can craft is the lockpick, which has the old name. Same Issue was posted here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/lorelocks/tickets/13-changing-configged-text-glitch/

If the plugin uses the chests own inventory it should generally work.
Currently I've got some problems with my internet connection (sending this from work) but I'll look into it as soon I've got Internet access again.

Could you give me a link to the plugin "Lock" I can't seem to find it here on bukkit :o
LoreLocks checks locks/lockpicks depending on their name/lore so check the ItemRenamer config if you have overridden the name/lore of any Items which are used by LoreLocks (or give it to me and I'll check it ;)).

I have installed the plugin but it isn't working, these are the other mods i haveBlock enchant, Craft book, Essentails, Gods, HeroChat, Lock, Magic spells, McMMO, Multiworld, Recipe creator, Creator ,Sneak ,Voxel sniper ,World guard ,Item renamer i am also running on bukkit 1.5.2 R0.1. Is it known that nay of these are not compatible. Thanks, - Daylightbeast

I'm currently working on an API to make it easy for other devs to request a lock window with specific stengths and so on. This way no lock at all would be needed, a loot plugin (another thing on my list of projects) would only need to display the lock screen before showing the loot :)
is there any you could make a locked chest block so you wouldn't have to put the locks in the chest? that way random loot rpg chests could have locks without the person taking the lock
I am having trouble getting the doors.yml to save anything. It is still blank and won't update. After I shutdown the server then restart no doors are locked. This doesn't happen however if I only reload the server without shutting it down. I am running bukkit for 1.5.2, could it be a compatibility problem, seeing as the last update posted here is for 1.5.1? Locking chests works just fine and is there each time I restart. I even tried testing the plugin out with a new server and no other plugins just to make sure it wasn't a plugin conflict.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You can lock doors. Just right click a door with a lock in-hand. To get a key for the door, however, you need to put the lock in a chest first and create a key like that; otherwise you'll have to pick your way through the door every time.
Is there an ETA on when we can lock doors?

Can you add an option to the configuration so that you can set it to craft, say, one lockpick, rather than 3?

there are no crafting permissions yet as there is no such restriction in default recipes but it is already on my long list of features to implement ;)
