What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

When I downloaded this plugin, I had hoped that I could create a protection block, and whenever the server detected players placing this block, it would generate that aura around the block. What I'm getting is a one-time use aura block that is a modified version of an existing block.

I would like either:
  A way to make it so that once I set the dimensions of a block's aura, it will stay that way for every instance of that block, so anyone can create and place these blocks at any time as long as they mined up enough resources to craft it.
  A shop so that people can buy these blocks, but I don't want an economy plugin on my server, as it would take away from the vanilla-theme vibe to it. I would like for them to be able to trade 9 iron ingots for an iron block that will protect their home. (Also currently, Vault alone does not make sign shops work, it just has the text on it but doesn't do anything)

Either fix will make me happy.
