Landmarks
This started as a fork and continuation of DFYX's no longer maintained Landmarks plugin. He created a plugin that allows you to set landmarks in-game that will show up on Dynmap maps. Unfortunately the plugin was rather simple and is no longer maintained, resulting in breakage when dynmap updated.
I at first just fixed the compatibility issues, but ended up completely rewriting the plugin. This plugin picks up where the original Landmarks 0.2 left off and adds among other things the following features:
- Support for the latest dynmap versions.
- Support for the latest CraftBukkit RB's.
- Support for Superperms / BukkitPermissions (and all other permissions plugins that support Superperms).
- Improves landmark editing and maintenance.
- Adds landmark groups/types and custom icons.
- Adds a teleport command for landmarks (can be disabled/enabled through permissions on a per-landmark basis).
- Adds a "look at" command for landmarks (can be disabled/enabled through permissions on a per-landmark basis).
- Theoretical support for other map systems (at least one known implementation for PigMap).

I can't get this plugin to work.
I've downloaded the jar file, extracted all the dynmap webfiles.
Then I did add a landmark_test.png to images folder as where landmark_default.png also is located and ingame I entered the command /landmarktyped test test. But nothing shows up on Dynmap.
@zaph34r
Silly Zaph34r! Y u no use java? :(
First off, great work continuing landmarks, one of my favorite plugins since its inception despite its simplicity :D Unfortunately we couldn't get this to run on our server, not completely sure why.
Since i still wanted it on our server, and the activity here seemed quite low, i went and made an alternative, using the new(?) dynmap API for everything, so the installation doesn't require anything more than dropping the plugin into the plugins folder. I'm posting this here since i saw a few posts of people also having problems getting it to work, and no responses yet. It has one additional dependency though, as it is written in python, so it might not be for everybody :) With it using the dynmap api it also obviously does not support any other map systems.
Could you please add an option to set the webserver-path for this "plugin"? or make it read out the configured path of the dynmap config file~
just because this won't work if you aren't using the built-in webserver but a standalone apache (as every normal server should do)
Will this addon be updated for 1.2 or 1.1 R5? Does r5 break this addon? I have been using this on my server for months with several users creating unique landmark icons for their projects. I don't want that work to go to waste.
@Thulinma please help me out. I can not get it working on the website.
The plugin i running - it adds landmarks, the /landmarkwarp landmarkname is working, but nothing is showed up on the web site.
I added the JS, CSS and images files on the proper directory, also added this to the dynmap configuration.txt file: components: - class: org.dynmap.ClientComponent type: settings
- class: org.dynmap.ClientComponent type: landmarks
Any ideas wher might be the problem and how to fix it?
I am glad this is still an active plugin. I will download it again and try it out
@SchwarzerZylinder
Yes. I'm working on a build that has every category as a new layer, but still running into a few issues getting everything to work nicely. This new build should also greatly improve ease of installation, if I get it all working how I want it to. :-)
Is it possible to set the markers as a new layer, which can be toggled on/off like players? So you can make a tick in the left box, where you can choose layers.
Great plugin, but it really needs more information! Commands, permissions and installation! You HAVE to add this!
@cky2250
Good point. I'll add these instructions soon!
Can you post how to use the landmark plugin. In the DFYX post it had information on how to it is used. I would rather have 1 source then going around looking for it.
Thank you.
@KBKWilliamsson
Look in the images folder in the web folder. You'll see png files names landmarks_NAME.png. Add new images in that folder, using the same naming scheme (for example: landmarks_compass.png, if you wanted to use a compass image). Then, use /landmarktyped [TYPENAME] [LANDMARKNAME] to add the landmark. For example: "/landmarktyped compass North" will add a landmark named "North" to the "compass" types. All landmarks automatically use the image named after their type, no need to change any settings or anything like that. Make sure you use lowercase-only filenames for the images, though!
@KBKWilliamsson
Interesting... In theory all characters should work... but I never did test anything besides "regular" letters. I'll look into it!
Also I'm wondering how to use the different images? I saw there was images of a compass and a book and other stuff, how do I change the landmarks-icon to them?
I really enjoy that youre developing this plugin! :) Though, I do belive that you need to change the charset or something, I can for example not use the "^" in my landmarks. Or is this issue with dynmap perhaps?
@AnakisMineLegend
Good to hear!
@joshcvb
Technically, yes. But that sounds like it would be more suited for a different plugin. Don't most mappers already have this feature? If not, I can see what I can do, I guess.
@Thulinma
It's perfect, thanks :)
@Thulinma
Can you have this show worldguard regions in a variety of colors?
@AnakisMineLegend
Done. Release 0.7 is out, use the "Link to the latest plugin version" above to get it.
Let me know if you still have any issues. :-)
mmh ok thanks :p
