LandClaiming

Description

LandClaiming was developed for ZW_15 to work as a world protection plugin. With this plugin, players can claim any land, with any size or shape as long is it does not go over the max amount of claimed blocks (which is configurable).

Commands

/lock lock a block
/lock <add/remove> <player> allowed players to use a block
/unlock unlock a block
/claim <claimed region's name> claims an area
/claim <info> shows info about regions
/claim <name> <add/remove> <playername> allows players to interact with your claimed land
/unclaim <name> unlcaims land

permissions

landclaim.*: Gives access to all permissions
landclaim.admin: Gives access to all permissions
landclaim.default: Gives access to default permissions (Required to claim land)

The amount of land a player can claim is determined by their group and the amount specified in the config.

How to Install

Drop this plugin into you plugins folder
Restart your server

I have latest releases of LandClaiming and LuckPerms on a 1.13 survival server. I have a few ranks set up in order to give normal players more claim blocks once they've started a town or settlement of some sort. I know this is an option in the LandClaiming config, so I added these ranks into the config.yml. It now looks like this:

maxclaimedblocksDEFAULT: 3000

I have not changed anything else in the config. All these ranks start in lowercase in LuckPerms and they're all spelled correctly. However, all players are still limited to 3000 claimed blocks despite being given one of the 'mayor' ranks. I've tried getting rid of all their other ranks besides the 'mayor', and it still stays at 3000. What might be the issue here?

I also don't know how to get rid of the capitalized "Default" and "Member" groups in this config, they always just regenerate on server startup. I've just been ignoring them for now.

If you increase the default maximum claimed, does the max amount of land the player can claim also increase? If so, the issue could be caused by the way luckperms stores groups (For plugins like PEX, the group they are with is stored the same way permissions are stored), so this plugin may not be able to detect them. If this is the case, I'll try to figure out how groups are stored there and see if I can support it.

Yes, I can change the "maxclaimedblocksDEFAULT" to any number and it will change across the board. I would appreciate the ability to stick with LuckPerms, but I wouldn't be too upset with changing to PEX if there's no quick workaround. (Edit: nvm, PEX isn't 1.13. A fix would be VERY appreciated)

The server I am trying to use LandClaiming on is 1.13.1 and for some reason, it wont work when I hold the golden shovel that seems to be the trademark of the plugin. I've gone through the configs, and I dont see anything wrong from my other friend's server, in which it works fine.

You don't need a golden shovel to claim. You just need to use the /claim command and click (with any item) on the corners of the area that you wish to claim.

Unfortunately the permissions dont seem to like Essentials it seems and now it wont work for the default grouping, which all the other players (Around 30 people) are a part of, and only the admins (Me and 3 others) are able to run the commands

I'm not entirely sure how Essentials handles permissions, but as long as the players have the "landclaim.default" permission, they should be able to claim land. If you are having difficulties trying to add permissions using Essentials, try using PEX.

When I try to change the "maxclaimedblocks:" section, and reload or restart the server, it resets back to the default. What's happening and how can I fix it?

Is the server offline when you make the changes? Since LandClaiming uses the config for saving data, the config is edited on server-shutdown, which could override settings made while the server is running.

Hi, Item frames can be destroyed within a claim. Also, the item's can be taken out of the frame. Would there be any way for me to change this? Thanks.

Okay, can you be a bit more specific as to what is currently happening? I'm assuming the players receive the message to right click on blocks when they use the /claim <name> command.

Are players receiving messages saying they don't have Permission to claim land? If so, make sure they have the "landclaim.default" permission.

Are players receiving messages about intersecting/ already claimed land? If so, the players may be trying to claim land that is already a part of another claimed area.

Are players receiving messages saying they have too many claimed blocks? If so, the player's group/rank is not registered in the config. Under "maxclaimedblocks.group", add their group name along with the max amount of blocks in the X/Z direction they can claim. Also, consider changing "maxclaimedblocksDEFAULT" if you want players to be allowed more blocks by default.
