LegendaryMessages is a plugin that will display all kinds of messages and is 100% customizable!!! It can handle things from login messages to Messages of the day to Auto Messages and you dont need to use all the features as it is customizable.

Setup

Download the plugin
Install it to the /plugins folder
Then do a quick server restart
When the server has started everything is already enabled so you will see [AutoMessage] Message 1 it will be set to 1 minute interval
To disable and customize somethings goto /plugins/LegendaryMessages/config.yml and it will look something like this

Plugin Metrics

This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:

A unique identifier
The server's version of Java
Whether the server is in offline or online mode
The plugin's version
The server's version
The OS version/name and architecture
The core count for the CPU
The number of players online
The Metrics version
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Getting this error with the newest spigot build: http://pastebin.com/F60LDJDH

Everything works though so I'm not sure what exactly is the issue.

Edit: Nope, AutoMessage stopped working about 2 hours after the update. Weird.

Thanks for your help and response. I gave the new build a try...

The good thing about the new build is that the automessages are no longer spamming and can be disabled now.

The bad thing is, I can't seem to get the automessages to work at all. I've added the correct permissions, and enabled them, but they don't seem to work.

I've altered nothing in the config except toggled the usepermissions setting and tried some different intervals.

When bukkit accepts 5.2 try using that it's a redesigned AutoMessages it allows per permission messages multiple sets of messages ect

I am currently using the default config of your latest build. I just removed the plugin completely and reinstalled it. The only thing I have altered is the Interval, which is currently set to 4000. The problem persists.

I am running CraftBukkit Beta 1.7.2 Build #3020

Also a question, why have you changed the Interval from minutes to ticks? The config doesn't even indicate the use of ticks, which is only going to cause confusion.

You cant see them because ive added a permission to hide them

LegendaryMessages.AutoMessages.Hide as for the automessages i have to look at that i guess im not having an issue on my server idk why you are but i will take a look at it

The spamming of the automessages is occurring regardless of the interval. I've tried many numbers 200 - 30000, and it still spams nearly every second. It also can't be disabled, I've set automessages to false, restarted and reloaded, and they are still spamming the server. I've tried resetting the config as well.

As the admin, the messages are also not visible to me (as they used to be), but they are spamming to all of my players.

I have used your plugin for a long time, but there is something wrong with your latest build, or it is incompatible with the latest builds of Bukkit.

Its spamming because your interval is 45

its nolonger in minutes to make it 45 minutes make the interval equal to 54000

its in ticks and there are 20 ticks in 1 second and 1200 ticks in 1 minute

This is the config I use at the moment. I also used to run into the same problem as oliver with the config resetting but that was fixed when I updated to the latest version of legendarymessages.

Same problem here, I think it started after I updated essentials to the newest version. It keeps resetting the config file.
