Bukkit

Well I was working on FTB and Tekkit servers and was thinking instead of banning most items because they grief spawns and protected areas, it would awesome if this plugin could actually limit/restrict usage of a item in a set area. This feature doesn't have to be implemented now, I was just thinking it would be a cool feature in the distant future.

i.e.
Mining Lasers (Industrial Craft)
Portal Guns
Gravity Guns
Wand of Equal Trade
etc

Currently there is NO plugins that can do this except TekkitRestrict but that plugin is stuck on 1.2.5 due to it being dedicated towards Tekkit Classic

Here's a solution for your problem ;)

Get yourself worldguard and a customflag plugin, which can give and take permissions from players ...

Use this plugin and make permissions for banned items. and finally take these permissions in the spawnarea.
