ImageGenerator
WARNING: ALL OF MY PLUGINS ARE OUTDATED AND NONE OF THEM WILL BE UPDATED.
ImageGenerator
ImageGenerator is an extremely simple plugin that lets you create pixelart from images. Just use /imagegen{1,2,3} [URL here]
, and the plugin will generate pixelart from the image at the URL you use. Whether it's 1, 2, or 3 depends on what rotation you want:
- Use /imagegen1 [URL here] for upright art that runs east-west;
- Use /imagegen2 [URL here] for upright art that runs north-south;
- Use /imagegen3 [URL here] for art that's flat on the ground.
This video is a bit old. It uses /imagegen instead of /imagegen1, /imagegen2, or /imagegen3. As of 1.1, /imagegen is not a usable command.
WARNING: As of the current version, all processing is done in the main thread. This means that your server will freeze while the image is being generated. This shouldn't be a big problem with smaller (i.e., less than 200x200) images, but if you accidentally try to use, say, a 1000x1000 image, your server is basically guaranteed to crash. I intend to make most of the processing asynchronous in a future version.
Credit to blamking of Minecraft Forums: I copied the RGB values for each block from his similar program Woolify. Check it out; it's cool!

Ah, okay. You're welcome! ^_^
@benzrf

@jesusofalaska
It's nice of you to say so, but you don't have to lie about creating your account!
@evelboy
Do you think you could show me on your server?
made an account just to comment, this is truly an amazing plugin right here
it,s a pretty cool program. the only thing i dont like is that it turns black to red and red to orange ... i don't know if it,s just me or not but if i try black & white pictures the server crashes
@nhoclesnar
For resizing, try using http://resizepic.com/
For undoing, you're out of luck. It's hard enough to just restore the blocks, let alone do it in the right order to keep them from falling off.
This will become very popular if you can resize the image, and you should add an undo command.
@nosegoopum
Here is an in-depth explanation: Stand where you want the pixelart. Use the command. You're done. That's as in-depth as it gets.
As for adjusting the direction, that would probably take less than an hour. I'll get on it as soon as I have time.

Oh, sorry. My parents took away my Android, and I'm used to it bleeping whenever I get a new comment, so it never occurred to me that somebody had commented... Sorry. :(
Anyway, I actually haven't been working on it at all because I've been busy with Portal 2 and learning how to use Hammer. Also because I'm a lazy bastard.
I'll start working on it tomorrow at the latest! :)
Can you please give a more in-depth explanation on how exactly to use this plugin? Also, it would be really nice if there was a way to make your pixel art flat on the ground (if it is too tall for the world)
@Royalgamer06
I can add rotation, but undo isn't really feasible, sorry. :(
BTW, this plugin is unpolished because it was originally only for my use. I only put it up here because some people showed interest.
Nice plugin. But I don't what to use it for lol.
