HothGenerator
This world generator creates a real ice world that isn't just normal land covered with snow.
The plugin can actually generate more world types from the star wars movies (Tatooine, Dagobah and Mustafar worlds) but those are not described in detail here. You are left to explore and find all their secrets on your own.

This generator produces an icy world with a thick ice and snow layer and the occasional snow covered mountain. Hidden below you might find tiny caves where life that once inhabited the surface still survives and perhaps you'll find strange structures left over from some ancient civilization.
It also applies some extra rules to the world:
- Ice block, packed ice blocks and snow blocks drops as blocks
- Water placed in open air or above a certain level instantly freezes
- Lava placed in open air or above a certain level is turned into stone
- snow and ice does not melt
- No rain falls, only snow
- Plants doesn't grow if exposed to the sky
- Grass and mycelium dies under open sky if it can't spread into safety
- Slime does not spawn naturally above the stone layer
- Stay out at night and you will take damage from the cold
All rules are fully optional by editing the advanced options section in the configuration file.
Players can don an environment suit to protect themselves from the environment.
- Simply wear full armour with each piece with a name starting with
Environment
Commands to create a world:
STEP 1: You must add a new world to the HothGenerator configuration. This is done using the /hothaddworld
command.
/hothaddworld worldname type
Where "worldname"
is the name of your world and "type"
is one of hoth
, tatooine
, dagobah
or mustafar
.
STEP 2: Create the actual world.
If you are using the excellent MultiWorld plugin you can create a new world like this:
/mw create worldname plugin:HothGenerator
/mw load worldname
Do note that you should use the nether for the mustafar world. Use plugin_nether
above.
And for Multiverse:
/mv create worldname normal -g HothGenerator
or for a mustafar world:
/mv create worldname nether -g HothGenerator
@sylas312
I suppose I could. But can't you light up the place?
(You can turn off freeze damage in the config file. The next release will have freeze damage turned off by default)
could you make config file with restriced areas where freeze dmg is gone? because i have city with npc traders and freeze dmg is killing them to death.
@sylas312
The loot generator first decides how many stacks it wants to generate. Then it generates those stacks. But it does not care what stacks it has already made, so by chance it may generate the same item twice.
everything works just great but spawns not that number of items like in config xpbottle, 384,0,5,27,75 so max should be 27, but once i found 60 bootles, or mossStone, 48,0,6,15,70 found 23, is that bug?
sorry for spam but thank you very much :) ill try
@sylas312
You can change the internal loot list for the plugin generated chests by executing:
/hothsavell default.ll
Then edit the custom/default.ll file.
/hothreload
Note that the loot in all already existing chests will not change, only newly generated ones.
Advanced:
If you really don't want the diamonds by the skeletons you can unarchive the jar file. Edit the schematics/skeleton.sm file and then zip it all back up into a new jar file.
i like skeletons but problem is that near them are some diamonds, and i need somehow to remove all iron armors, items from those "dungeons" and "little houses" chests xD i thought custom loot do that but now i realised that custom loot is for hidden mobs spawns, thats not what i needed :/ (sorry for bad english)
@sylas312
Skeleton rarity should be fixed in the next release (1.9+).
As for the loot lists. Which loot list are you changing? If not the internal one, have you assigned it to the schematics you want it attached to? Do you get any messages in the log?
If you can't get it to work then PM me the config file, loot list(s) and schematic(s).
really need help structure.skeletons.rarity: 0 doesnt turn off skelets and custom loot isnt working in chests i always find default drop
@2Andri
I've added some environment damage options. Check a newly generated config for more information.

Thanks for the ore update :)
I seem to have very few hostile mobs spawning on the surface especially, possibly due to the smooth snow...? Has this been an issue for anyone else?
EDIT: Nevermind, I had bukkit's spawn rate set really low :/
Pretty nice, but i achieved a map like this 'kind-of' on my own, i like the features you added.
if you can add nice, massive himilaiyan mountains it would be nice.
take some inspiration from this server - sorry for advertising, remove this if you don't want it, i can too, just ask.

Would it be possible to create what @netherfoam said, but with a twist. Normal Blizzards during the day, but when nighttime arrives, it makes people slowly taking damage if exposed directly to the surface unless near a heat source.
I love you! I didn't expect you to actually get on that so fast! If all plugin developers were like you the world would be a better place. Thanks a ton!
@Ajaxan
Okey I've added that. The file is awaiting approval but in the mean time you can download it here:

Generate a new config.yml to get instructions.
Could you make it possible to set the y at which the surface generates? Underground living will be important in a server like this so having more underground space seems necessarily. (I want to make a server where living underground is forced upon player by the harsh conditions.)
@CorruptedHelix
The minecraft client sometimes doesn't recieve the correct biome data. Due to lag or whatever. It's outside my control and needs to be corrected in the client and/or in bukkit. If you log out and then return the client should reload the chunks with the correct biome data.
Or, if you mean that normal terrain is generating then you have a buggy world manager that isn't using the correct terrain generator. HothGenerator contains no code to generate normal world chunks.
No rain, only snow? I ran into an Ocean biome and it was raining.
@netherfoam
There is a plugin called storms that does that
@netherfoam
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/storm/
Includes a blizzard that damages players if not around a heating source.
"Blizzards: Makes snow a real threat! Players and entities caught outside during a blizzard will experience snow acting as slow sand, limited visibility, and cold damage, so long as they are not inside or near a heating block."
