FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
A list of common questions about the plugin, with the relative answers.
I can't see the holograms, what's wrong?
First of all, check that the plugin is enabled with the following command: /HolographicDisplays. It should show your version. The cause of this problem is letting users from 1.7 and 1.8 join together. If you are using the protocol hack (a.k.a. "the fake 1.8"), try using this patch even if it's not officially supported anymore. If you are actually on Spigot 1.8, and you let 1.7 clients join, it's up to the plugin allowing this kind of thing to handle holograms for them.
The hologram are really dark.
This is a common issue in 1.7.10 or lower, due to the positioning of the hologram. The only fix is updating to 1.8 or greater, but in the meanwhile you can try using the command /hd fix <hologramName>.
I'm on a Forge client, I can't see the icons and/or holograms disappear.
If you don't see the floating items, it's Forge's fault. You can try using both a vanilla and a Forge client, only with the first one you will be able to see the item. If your holograms disappear, you are using a Cauldron server. Again, the holograms work in Bukkit/Spigot, it's Cauldron's fault.
If I try to use a command it says "/hd (Startup error)".
The plugin failed to load. Check your console, there must be an error. It should tell you what's wrong. If you see a long error (stacktrace) that you don't understand, check if it's not one of those listed here, then open a bug report.
